- In this video I'm giving you some tips on how to find the BEST camera angles for your RUclips Videos! Many times people try to use a low angle shot or a high angle shot in their camera angle types and cinematography. Knowing techniques like the rule of thirds, leading lines and negative space will help you level up your videos.

Incredible thanks. With no formal background in video, it’s been a blast learning to create spaces to provide the viewer with a certain experience.
As a musician it reminds me so much of a buddy who was excited to play a few songs he wrote…they sounded awful on his iPhone, but was kind. I took him in my home studio and began re-recording a song of his, but professionally.
His eyes just lit up with excitement from the first guitar take.
That’s amazing!
These are the best how to shoot video tutorials I have found on RUclips. So succinct. And he really tells me what I have been wanting to know.

Hello Ben !!! As always very useful tips. Enjoyed. Now I am shooting my videos to phone, however there is room to use this tips for shooting from phones cameras. Thank you
Yes you can def apply this with the phone as well, also you may enjoy this video: ruclips.net/video/1012vZNucwc/видео.html
You should do a video on your desk setup! I would personally love it and also take value from it!
It’s coming very soon! Already have it planned! 🤘🏻
this really helped a simple question I had..the eye level thing :)
Awesome glad it helped!
Perfect 👍
Glad you think so!
This quality of your videos is awesome! Thank you, I learned a lot. Do you teach online classes?
I just released my brand new course that you can get here: www.learnvideolighting.com
He does it again!
Thanks for watching Jaye!
Wide angle is also great for audio, since your subject is closer to the mic (considering it’s not a lav mic)
Correct!
THANK YOU SO MUCH
Thanks for watching Luke!
@@benjohnsoncreative You're welcome!
cool. thanks
You’re welcome!
fantastic! Got what I came for.
Glad I could help!
Great video! I would also mention "head space". But as you mentioned, putting the eyes on the top horizontal line should create enough headspace, but it's not guaranteed (maybe their head and/or hair is huge! haha). Too much or too little is what to watch out for.
Yes in hindsight should have mentioned that as well, I’ll hit this topic again in the future tho, thanks for catching that Steve!
@@benjohnsoncreative No problem bro. I just remember getting yelled at a lot starting out as a cam op about headspace, obviously it's ingrained in my brain still, haha.
Thanks for being amazing 🤍🤍🤍 with love from nigeria 🇳🇬🥰😘
Thanks Emma and Sophie!
Hi Ben, thanks for the video.
Questions -1: How about using iPhone?
What angels are good?
2 : I am beaginer, what kind of camera is good for entry level?
Thanks
Same rules apply, and here’s a great camera option at a great price: ruclips.net/video/GWmdmj9KHpI/видео.html
🔥🔥
🔥 thanks for watching!
Hello I just implemented some of your lighting ideas and pretty happy with the result will tag you to see what you think thanks so very much for sharing your talents!!!
Awesome glad you are happy with the result Ruth!
@@benjohnsoncreative honestly you have changed my RUclips life thanks God and the algorithm for leading me to your channel 🤗
Your setup is so nice! Trying to get mine together and it's a has been a challenge.
Hey! What was that thing mounted on top of your camera? Didn't look like a monitor, was it a mirror?
Yes! This was before I had a good flip out screen. This mirror is a great hack! amzn.to/3uv6Ump
1st Video, Perfect video, fuck yes didnt had to look at other videos
Perfect. This addresses all of the things that make me unimpressed with my videos. The placement section had me going like....Yeah!......Ooooh! So that's why
Glad you enjoyed it!
This would have been useful before the abomination that I put up yesterday! :D Next day I imagined someone watching on a big screen TV so I started researching camera placement.
So thank you for this!!
Wanted to ask you, how do you do all the flashy text you have around (like when you talk about the rule of thirds, leadings lines, and negative space). I think that would be the next thing to learn for me to make videos more interesting.
Keep going my man :)
This thanks Mohamad! This video talks about the effects: ruclips.net/video/NF1ytdBcXd0/видео.html
@@benjohnsoncreative Thank you Ben. Watched and liked! I'm digging more into MotionVFX as your video focuses more into FCPX while I used Adobe Premiere pro :) maybe an idea for your next video to cater for Adobe users :P
Love the current studio setup
Thanks Joseph! I’m enjoying it too! You can see my set up for it here if you haven’t: ruclips.net/video/TBcMoR0laxk/видео.html
@@benjohnsoncreative watched it last week mate, your teaching is amazing
Thank you SO MUCH. Right now I’m working on creating a vibe and I feel like I’m epically failing 😬😂
You got this!
Are you using the Sennheiser MKH in this video?
You re near to 100k 😏😏
Yes... IT’S CRAZY!
A question ❓
If I am working on SW that has camera in it should I higher the ISO to get more light then reduce the light after I get my photo out ?
What should I increase and what to decrease?
Thanks 👍
*Thanks Ben,*
*Great informative video as usual 👍 ✨*
*How do you set the white balance for your* *videos?*
*Thanks*
5600k is what I prefer in controlled environments
@@benjohnsoncreativeThanks for your reply
Yes I mean for indoor youtube studio
Thanks
You’re welcome!
Awesome video! So helpful! What is the screen type thing on top of your camera?
It’s a lifesaver for Sony cameras that don’t have flip out screens haha. It’s a little mirror monitor: amzn.to/2PbxBKM
@@benjohnsoncreative thank you so much! Just what I needed!
