Ironically this album is all about depression, loneliness and hopelessness haha. Well most of it, haha it literally has a song in it called "All Hope is Gone". But yes they are the most hopeful band in the biz :D There is also a girl group thats becoming very popular called Plush that does a KILLER cover of this song.
It's actually been explicitly stated that it is a "loose concept album" about loss of faith and believing in a higher power, but the themes you mention certainly go along with that.

Their lyrics and music sound hopeful because they are a Christian band. The entire band is comprised of members of Creed....Except the singer/guitarist Myles Kennedy.
They have stated in many interviews that they are not a Christian band. Not everyone in the band has even professed any type of religious faith.
