Being an American band, I don't understand how they became such a huge draw overseas, yet got very little recognition in the states. Blows my mind.
Because the American metal scene is shit and the American rock scene is even shittier in terms of mainstream popularity/recognition. Over here diehards keep the flame alive but awesome bands end up only playing in mid-sized clubs or arenas like House of Blues. Its great for us fans, but I wish bands like Alter Bridge could sell out American equivalents to Wembley.

Because we are still stuck with Creed. Since three of them are former Creed members, people still associate them with Creed despite they're are different animals and play a different style with Alter Bridge
I will never understand why this band is not huge in the United States. Myles and Mark have such great creative chemistry.
Another testament of how special Myles Kennedy & Mark Tremonti are as a team. It's more than just "Mark the guitarist & Myles the singer". The classical acoustic gtr intro was composed & played by Myles. Mark loved it & wanted to make it into a full song & inspired him to write the "big riff" when the band comes in. They're a duo that fully clicks on all cylinders. Add in Brian & Scott as a stellar rhythm section & u have an ideal recipe for epicness...

Mark Tremonti is a damn beast complemented by the incredible voice of Kennedy
agreed and agreed. tremonti has amazing hooks in his guitar playing. legendary almost. if scott stapp didn't hold creed back, i think tremonti would have created something truly beautiful with creed. although alter bridge are magnificent in their own right. broken wings is beyond the pale.
His voice is also incredible. Just check the track "Waters Rising" which is completely sung by him off of Fortress(2013).

Eddie's son, Wolfgang Van Halen played bass in Tremonti. Now, Wolfie has his own band called Mammoth WVH. Wolfie took Mammoth name from his dad when VH was Mammoth in the early days. VH had to change their name. David Lee Roth suggested named the band after brothers' last name Van Halen due to another band with name, Mammoth.

Yeea apparently he said he picked it up playing back stage since he doesn't actually play on tour with Slash. But backstage or something they were messing around when he came up with that intro. I'd love to be back stage with those musicians... I can only imagine the jam sessions!
