🎉PARIS!!! 🎉 I know it’s one of your favs…come with me!! Paris in November…just sayin 😂
London and Paris in September! This video was perfect timing!
A word of advice on rewearing clothes on your vacation: when deciding on how many items you need to bring with you, pack with the idea that you may likely sweat more on a vacation abroad than you will at home. 😅 When I went to France last fall, I brought 3 pairs of pants thinking that would be more than enough since I can easily get away with wearing pants 3-4 times before washing them at home without them being noticeably dirty/smelly. Not so in France! Between my increased activity level and the fact that Europe is much more conservative about their A/C use than the US and are unlikely to turn it on past September (even during a very warm late October), and I was a much sweatier lady on that trip than I am in real life. If you’re not going to stay somewhere with laundry facilities or plan on spending time at the laundromat, it’s a good idea to bring one more shirt and pair of pants than you could wear during normal home-like conditions. Because unlike socks and underwear, pants are not quick to dry if you try to do laundry in the sink!
There are many designs of quick dry pants.
@@missmayflower I’m aware. But I’ve yet to find a plus size quick dry pants that I like enough to bring with me anywhere.
I love my plus size Athleta ones :) good for cold and warm weather, very easy to quick dry.
Did 60 days with a basic capsule wardrobe, took 3 bottoms 7 tops plus 2 merino cardigan purchased a dress and two jeans, dumped 1 bottom as it was one of 2 that could be left behind, had 3 pairs of footwear, a raincoat
LOVE THIS!
I found your channel looking for ways to pack personal item only for a trip a few months ago.. now I’m addicted it’s so calming I even watch u to sleep sometime 😂 it’s a whole thing at this point
Awww thank you ❤️
I actual love the way you can use just a small number of clothes and make 40 different outfits.. thank for the tips
You're so welcome! 🥰
I’m taking a fall trip to Scotland so it’ll be chilly & wet , plus I’ll need hiking clothing plus regular outfits for the city stops. We are doing carry on only for 12 days so your videos have been my go-to! Love this video idea
Get some nice waterproof pants to wear for multiple days, and wear your hiking shoes on the plane :) I did Scotland in the fall, you will love it!
@@ItsTheKellysI’m doing Scotland in the spring and this is great advice thank you!
Thank you for packing the Quince! I traveled carry-on only for the first time with this suitcase and was amazed how it glided through the airport! You helped me realize I could make travel much easier without checked luggage! Thank you Lauren!!
I’m so happy your luggage worked so well for you! Thanks for watching!
These types of videos are so helpful. Thank you!
You're so welcome!
I could just watch you pack that double sided packing cube all day 😂 every time you pack it I’m always amazed how much fits in there! It’s truly incredible. I’m thinking of getting the set of 2 so my partner & I have one each!
You and me both! I’m always shocked 😂
My country ,Japan is really nice in October, fall season !! 💕
I’d love to go to Japan :)
Have started to use your packing list template whenever I have to pack - it’s been so helpful to keep me organized! Thank you!
I’m so happy to hear that! 💕
I love your capsule wardrobe videos!!! :)
Yay! Thank you!
Using your tips to pack for my upcoming trip to Italy! Inspired! Thanks, Lauren.
Awesome! Where in Italy and when? I’ll be there too
@@ItsTheKellys We’ll be in La Spezia in late September and early October after spending 3 nights in Paris. We’re planning to do day trips from our home base there. Having no experience in this kind of trip we’ll see how the ‘plan’ plays out! When and where will you be!? Would love to meet you in person!!
I really appreciate your videos. So resourceful and helpful. I love your picks for outfits.
Thank you so much!
This was perfect timing to post this topic as many people are in Tue planning stages of their fall or winter trips. Thank you once again for a valuable video.
You are so welcome!
Lauren, you are such a gem. Thank you. ❤
🥰🥰🥰
Going on a British Book Tour! Your travel and packing videos are so helpful 🙌
Yay! Thank you! Have fun
That sounds interesting.
Loooove the fashion show! 🙌🏻 AMAZING! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you :)
This video is so necessary! Thank you. I’m so glad I found you. As a plus sized person planning to in the fall, so many videos on minimal packing are from people much smaller than me packing tiny clothes for summer. Thank you for helping me in my journey from maximalist to mediumalist! Haha
Happy to help! 😌
Great video AGAIN 🥰 I couldn’t believe the outfits you got out of so few clothes, genius! Thanks for sharing
Thank you 💜
Thank you for sharing!
Fabulous ! As usual!
Thank you!
In the US, for fall I would enjoy visiting Maine and lean into being a “leafer.” And Also Salem Massachusetts is high on my fall bucket list!❤
Yes I’m sure the colors are amazing then! And Salem was cheesy but fun. It was a nice ferry from Boston!
@@ItsTheKellys yes I have no doubt Salem
Is cheesy, I am actually hoping for the cheese! 😂😂 that’s part of the fun.
I did Maine (Bar Harbor and Portland) last October. I was super close to selecting Boston and Salem this October.
I wear the same black pants when flying!!!!
Twins!
This is video is perfect timing. I've been looking for a good video to reference for my fall trip to Europe. Thanks!
Awesome! That’s what I was hoping for! Have a great fall trip!
Another fun video to watch! Idea: packing for Winter Rhine River Christmas Markets? 🌲❤️
I’ll be doing Xmas markets for a video for sure! Probably in late October 💕
I bought the TRIPPED toiletry bag and I'm on a trip right now !! The bag is wonderful. The material is kinda soft so it feels a luxurious. It also fits way more than just my liquids. Do you know if you can add makeup to 3-1-1 bag that ISNT liquids ??? Because EVERYTHING FITS !!!🙂💛 Good to see you, Lauren
Im so glad you love it! They are the best! And yes, you totally can bring more in the liquids bag! ;) enjoy your trip!
Yes you sure can put non liquids into your 311 bag
I am just starting to travel now that kids are out of school, and this video got me in the right packing frame of mind. My biggest concern was packing something for dressier events. I have a knit skirt that is a little bulky since it is sweatshirt material, but it can be dressed up or down, so I’m going to make it work. Thanks!!
I never wear wide leg pants or a long dress on the plane cause they will touch the bathroom floor.tell us what brand are the Chelsea boots? So cute. Such a helpful video. Nice to see plus size clothes. Those tiny people are always packing a ridiculous number of tiny clothes.
They are Steve Madden. And I bring the legs of my pants up when I go, if that makes sense 😂 I don’t understand how that floor gets so wet mid flight 🤮
Great video, Lauren! Thanks! I’m preparing for a fall trip to Europe. WooHoo!!
Good luck!!
OK i really need to know what the black pants are!! Fantastic video and perfect timing! I am traveling to fall in early sept when it will still be 100+ here!
They are from SHEIN, these particular ones aren’t on there anymore, but they have a ton of others :)
OMG i have NEVER been so excited to pack! I am only heading to Chicago for a week and then to Pennsylvania (from Arizona) but i am loving all your videos and recommendations. Just finished the must have accessories or was it use this and not that.....ha ha not sure . Love all your content and your tatts
Thank you! Happy packing and happy travels!
Love this packing series!! Can you do a theme park/DisneyWorld in January?
It’s been requested, But for hot weather. So january would be even easier. To be honest, I’m not much of a Disney person, and I’ve never been, but I will consider it :) I just don’t feel like I should give advice for somewhere I’ve never been.
so helpful!! thank you so much!!
You're so welcome!
To me ,Vermont !! I'd love to visit Vermont in fall !! Someday !! 💜🥁🐉🎤🎶🍁🍂💞
On the Mar Jacobs purse, they did re-issue that same style recently under the MJ label so it is available new.
😍😍
Your videos are so great. I am planning another trip to Ireland hopefully in the next year. Preparing for a cruise now
Have fun! Where is your cruise heading?
@ItsTheKellys heading to Texas to Galveston to check the ship and going to Cozmel
Vienna, Bratislava , Budapest Eger &Kosice - 28 days in September in a carryon:)
I would pack just like this for that trip :)
@@ItsTheKellys I was thinking the same thing except I’ll take 1 dress and 1 skirt instead of 2 skirts. The dress is a merino wool that I can wear several of my tops under or over and can also wear sweater over and leggings under . Thanks so much for your ideas!
When I did that trip, it was summer, but I was doing my 100 day dress challenge from wool& 💕
This is so smart and helpful. Thank you!
You're so welcome!
Love your outfits and the fashion show. I'm not going anywhere this fall as I just got back from a month in Australia and now taking my only child to college for her freshman year at Boise State. 😢I think I'm going to have to save some money. Oh and you can always be my travel buddy to north Queensland.
I grew up in Boise :) Go Broncos!
@@corissaann03 I'm now a Bronco mum. I'm looking forward to it.
A month in Australia- awesome! And congrats to your child! Mine is a junior and I’ll be going through that soon enough too!
Exactlyyy what i needed
Yessss!
love the fedora like hat
Thank you
Love this! Preparing for 9 days in Europe early October (Barcelona and Rome!) so I appreciate the inspo on packing light
Have fun!
I don't see your super comfy Chelsea boots linked. What brand are they?
They are Steve Madden!
I am going to Italy in November with my best friend and I'm so excited I can't stand it! It will be rainy most likely and we are going carry on only.
I did a big Italy trip in early to mid November in 2018 and it didn’t rain, and was actually nice! I was in mostly dresses!
Love your videos! 💜
Taking a deep dive on all your videos as i prep for my first Euro trip. Thank you for all your hard work! I was wondering about your over ear headphones. Can you share the brand, please? That slim flat case looks amazing compared to my bulky one!
Awesome! Hope I’m helping you! If you have any more questions let me know.
heres the link to my headphones. amzn.to/3OlWPBX
I’d love if you can do a fall (October) in Greece/Mediterranean.
I’ll be in the Mediterranean in early November! Maybe I’ll do my packing video early.
It’s all the same concept of the capsule wardrobe, just apply it to the weather you will be experiencing!
Where did you get the cute stripe skirt?? Love it! Awesome video btw!
Shein :) a few years ago
Paris - early November.
This is what I would wear in Paris in early November 100% but maybe the nicer coat.
@@ItsTheKellys Thanks!
Heading back to Paris end October for a week to visit family. I just received my eBags Mother Lode junior from eBay today and that’s the only bag I’m bringing. The only thing I’m unsure of at this point is my jacket. Depends how cold it’s going to be and what jacket I’ll need but that I can decide shortly before leaving. Thanks for your videos, they are so helpful!
Awesome! I used my ebags for Paris in December of 2021 (theres several old videos of packing/travel vlogs actually) and it worked out well! You will figure out the jacket :)
In Paris in October, I always take my trench coat with a wool zip -in liner. Early Oct is still mild, but end of October can get cold and rainy. Silk underwear adds war,th without the bulk, and a silk scarf around the neck helps keep the torso warmer (I don't know how this works, but it does)
Where did you get the merino wool sweater? Having a hard time finding it for plus sizes. Awesome video
Wool& … they have awesome stuff!
Which backpack did you use love the color looks comfy to use
Beis expandable backpack
Thank you so much for doing this video it is so helpful. I would also love to know where you got the two compartment glasses case.
I got them at my local TJ Maxx but I have some in my Amazon store that are similar
Right on time for my trip next month, thank you Lauren! Are those wide-leg pants from Wool&? I wantttttt those.
They are from SHEIN, the exact ones aren’t available anymore, but there’s tons out there.
Another terrific video! Egypt is tops on my bucket list. What do you suggest to respect the country’s modesty customs in clothing, head coverings etc? ✈️
I didn't cover my head in Egypt, but I did wear looser, long pants or skirts, and covered my shoulders. Every country is different when it comes to those customs, and some are way more strict than others. I have a trip coming up early next year where I have to be extremely covered, and I'll be sure to go over it when its time.
Love this! Thank you Lauren! I'm very inspired for my fall trip. Do you have any tips for bringing more pairs of jeans and whether it should go inside the compressible packing cube (or not?)? I'm thinking of bringing 3 pairs for a 3 week trip and i've found videos on how to roll them up real tight. Not sure if it's worth putting them in the cubes? Thanks!
They 100% should go in cubes, but I would never pack more than 1 pair of jeans. Unless those are your only bottoms.
I just came across your channel today. love your content. If you don't mind me asking the size of your Natasha bag. I have been looking at this bag for a few weeks, just insure of what size to get. Thank you.
Thank you! It’s 13” x 10”. I have three of them 😂😂
I stayed in hostels and used to dry stuff at end of my bed..only if it was allowed and do washing in shower! ❤Took thermal top bought for 10 dollars saved my life but camping shop closed down but will track down another obe somewhere. Use long and short sleeve breton tripy tshirts and plains and layer them up with wsrm jumper or cardigan in fall winter..really enjoyed your fashion parade of items teamed up.❤Your laptop looks so light which one is it and what is weight please?
It’s the 13” MacBook Air. I’m not sure how light it is, but it’s even lighter than my iPad!
@@ItsTheKellys yes thought it might ve a bit expensive here in Uk!
What brand are your Chelsea boots? I am looking for comfortable booties for a trip to Ireland and Scotland and would like to try on that style. Thanks !
Steve Madden :) I always size up for swollen feet after flying and walking all day
Thanks for the info. Any tips for going to Norway and Amsterdam in late September?
For travel tips or packing? I was super casual in Norway, and whether you’re in Bergen or Tromso, dress warm and waterproof. I looked cuter but comfortable in Amsterdam, walking and biking friendly outfits!
@@ItsTheKellys Thanks! Any kind of tips. Oslo, Bergen and Amsterdam. I’ll look for good light rain jacket.
Do a day trip to Utrecht from Amsterdam. It’s my favorite city in The Netherlands (I used to live there)! I’m also Scandinavia bound in September 😊
@@anneliesejohnson3662 thank you!
Thank you for doing this one! This really helped me nail down a couple of things I was undecided on for my European adventure. Also, can you share the brand of your Chelsea boots?
You’re welcome! They are from Steve Madden, and I actually go up a size in them, for feet swelling from lots of walking, or plane travel. (And socks!)
Going to Israel in October! Flying Lufthansa which has carryon weight limits. Fingers crossed 🤞 Thanks for your videos 😊
I’ve never been weighed on Lufthansa!
@@ItsTheKellys that’s good news!
Did You Get to Go on Your Trip?

I have an odd trip that I'm going on in the fall that I'm finding challenging to pack for... It's a hockey trip... To Australia... Sept. 17-27 (leave Sept. 15). My team, the LA Kings are playing two games in Australia agains the Arizona Coyotes in Melbourne, but I also wanted to take advantage of the time and go to Tasmania for a few days to try and spot the Aurora Australis (Southern Lights) during the equinox. So it's a mix of trendy, major hiking along the beach and in the bush, and cold because you're sitting out in the middle of the night waiting for lights. I'm struggling trying to imagine bringing my warm puffy jacket and my hockey jersey in a carry on... Or do I just go with layers? And from what I understand from your video, wear your heaviest shoes on the plane, so hiking boots?
Also, those wide-leg pants are adorable and I think I need to invest in some!
Thank you for all you do, Lauren! I have learned so much already from you and Brian!
Id wear your hockey jersey and boots on the plane, and hold your coat. You can put it in the overhead bin once you board.
Just have enough time to think about the capsule wardrobe and what you can wear for those hikes (I always rewear during hikes, as long as I don’t get too sweaty) and have a few key pieces for trendy days.
In my research, it says the southern lights are best through only August there, so I would try to find out as much as possible before committing to that!
Have so much fun!
@@ItsTheKellys Thank you so so much for your advice for taking the time to respond-- I so appreciate it! I'm nervous about packing for this trip. It's been a while since I've been out of the country and I've never done a carry-on only trip, but you've inspired me!
September during the Spring Equinox (Sept. 22) is prime aroura time because of Earth's position to the sun. If you're in Hobart it's doable if you have a strong camera, but the further south you are, the better. I'm headed to Bruny Island to see if I have any luck!
Thank you again for your fabulous videos and all of your help!
Awesome! Make sure you have a good tripod too! I found my iPhone was better with pix for the northern lights!
And have a few portable chargers or many extra batteries… because your devices will die faster out there in the cold! (Well I’m sure it’s not as cold as Norway was)
Another awesome video. Thank you. I am going g to Chicago in October, so this was very timely. I am interested in your favorite waterproof shoe brands. I am going to check your blog to see if you have an article over there. If you don't I would be very interested in either an article.or a video about your favorite brands of waterproof items. Thanks for all of the information and inspiration to pack well!!
Vessi, 100%. I have a video testing them out and I can literally put my feet in a river and the shoes stay dry! Plus I have a link for a free gift with purchase :)
I will be doing a waterproof video eventually
@@ItsTheKellys what was the brand of the flats you mentioned. It sounded like Birdie. I need a pair of dressier shoes like those on this trip and waterproof would be wonderful!
@@bephoebe all birds :)
Forgot your 311 bag. I’m assuming it goes in the personal item for easy access.
Yes, mine is always super small, as I barely use liquids. Thank you for pointing that out :)
May I know the weight of the packed carry-on? TQ. Limited to 7 kgs.
I’ve never been able to pack under 7kg, even in a 2lb backpack. I also never get my carry on weighed, even if they say they will, so I often don’t worry about it.
I am in the market for a pair of black Chelsea boots, what brand are those? My brown ones are Chacos but I kind of like the heel on yours.
These are Steve Madden :)
oh and what is that white backpack behind you??
It is the Beis expandable backpack in Beige 🤍
As I started to watch this video I had a mental checklist that I just knew you would cover! Bullet points...
- One bag 40 litre * optional personal item
- MERINO wool!! *
- ONE pair shoes for walking/evening + optional at hotel flip flops for shower and recovery after main shoes all day **
- layers ie that rain jacket *** optional puffer vest
- heavy tech in personal item reduces weight when flying airlines that gave weight restrictions
- hat for sun, warmth, fashion
- (my preference) autumn black, grey, brown
* Merino wool is the best as antibacterial, reducing need of washing, and lightweight. I even travel with Merino wool underwear and sucks. Trust me, try them! If necessary you wash undies out in a "scrubba" bag at night and they're dry in the morning.
** for years my personal choice was a pair of brown DocMarten Mary Janes. They sound heavy but they're actually incredibly comfortable if you're walking all day I can you can dress them up. A lighter option are my allbirds ballet flats!! AND I always wear slippers or some type of shower flip-flop when in a hotel.
*** I've had trips where I lived in my Patagonia puffer jacket. It might be a cover-up when I went to breakfast at the hotel in my jammies. Nice after the sunsets for a bonfire on the beach... and if your room is a little chilly you can sleep in it and be so comfy!
Another great informative video again ❤️ Have you done any trips where you need to be respectful of the culture in what you can wear?
I have... and I'm doing a big solo trip to the middle east this winter, where I will have to be very, very covered.
@@ItsTheKellysIn Abu Dhabi I wore grey pants, long sleeved grey tunic (below butt length) and a large, light infinity scarf to cover my hair and shoulders. They even let me in the Grand mosque without having to use one of their abayas. I was a bit disappointed, lol, but that let me know I was totally appropriate.
@@ItsTheKellysI look forward to seeing a video from this trip ❤
@@missmayflowerwhat were you disappointed about?
Why do you pack your purse? Wouldn't you carry it? And is it better to take a hard side suitcase or something like a rolling duffel?
I pack my purse because I don’t need it until I get to my hotel and unpack. Anything I would have in a purse is going to be in my personal item bag. You can’t have a purse and a personal item and a carry on.
As for the bag, that’s your preference. I prefer 4 spinner wheels and a clamshell opening. I have several videos on hard vs soft luggage, or clamshell vs regular luggage.
I love you so much
Thanks for the info, but if I’m on vacation, I don’t want to do laundry.
I don't ever do laundry, really. I will re-wear. But if something gets dirty where I cannot wear it again, I may pay to send it out, if my hotel offers it.
tell me winter travel packing is next lmao
that and dual climates are coming this month :) Do you want winter like Iceland casual or winter like Europe city cute?
@@ItsTheKellys your last question, both! one for a heavy snowy winter climate (i am getting married in quebec city in feburary lol) and one for a chilly but not trekking in the snow type of winter lol
Aw congrats! Invite me, I want to go to Quebec City! Haha.
What are the brand of the boots?
Steve Madden!
@ItsTheKellys thank you so much! Ill be leaving for England in a couple months and I definitely need those❤️
I'm in IL. Going on a cruise to Mexico ports including Cozumel, Belize. I am also spending 3 days in NOLA. Trip is Dec 16-28 HELP ME PLEASE
2 bathing suits, a small tropical capsule wardrobe for the cruise, including a few pairs of flowy pants you can wear in nola with a jacket. Just think of items you can wear on the cruise and in Nola at the same time. It’s not that cold there then, if anything rainy. At least both the Caribbean and Nola will be warmer than Illinois!
I’ll try to make a video for it before you go
What about a hairbrush or pj’s??
I have a wide tooth comb in my toiletries bag, and I usually just sleep in my boy shorts underwear and merino wool bra. But pajamas can be added easily.
