I live in Canada and our Winter lasts 6mos in a year. I really love the fact that I can even wear my pajamas under my winter jacket and pants to go out and no one will know. I can even skip brushing my hair because it will be covered with a toque anyway. 😂

Lauren, you crack me up. "You don't need a smokey eye to view the Northern Lights." 😂
I think we are all brainwashed to think, "I can't possily wear the same thing 2 days in a row!" But, in some cases, that makes absolutely no sense, so we need to change our mindset.
P.S. I love the cap your aunt made for you!

When I first started watching the channel I thought I would be intimidated in that Lauren worked in hair/beauty. But so far not a problem.
I've always braided my hair so that I have those curls and although I've never carried a flat iron or hair dryer I could appreciate it when Lauren admits she didn't use it!

I think the best packing videos often include the lessons learned from previous trips and those snow boots were just asking for it! 😅
My go-to when I'm going to snowy areas but not necessarily getting on a snowboard is a low boot or shoe that is lightweight yet waterproof, a pair of gaiters to keep my ankles dry and I now prefer a set of YakTrax over microspikes because they pack even smaller.
Regarding Merino wool. If people cringe at the price tag on a Merino wool t-shirt or other layering pieces I do recommend the lesser priced quick dry synthetic but if they try even one piece of Merino wool they'll realize it's even lighter-weight, you do not overheat, and Merino wool dries overnight much quicker than synthetic!
*_PS.. I loved the sweater intervention graphic!_*
I usually travel with one or two very lightweight rollable Merino sweaters and something chunkier. I once famously wore a chunky Nepalese sweater for ~ three months as I traveled through the Himalayas, the mideast, and into Europe!

Thanks for telling us how you like to pack for your trips to cold, snowy places. I haven’t seen the northern lights yet but have been on several cold winter trips with lots of snow. My husband is a fanatical skier so I have travelled with him for two months at a time to ski at resorts in the US and Europe. We usually move around often and I prefer a carryon sized bag because my 60 year old back struggles with a large bag. In fact, my husband’s bag is larger than mine. I need my snow boots on these trips as I’m not a skier and spend a lot of time outdoors walking. Space is at a premium in my carryon but there is no way I can wear my snow boots on the long flight from Australia. The way around this is to stuff my snow boots full of socks and underwear. I wrap each boot individually in a heavy duty plastic bag and place them in opposite corners of my bag. All my clothes are packed around and on top of my boots. My packing list for two months is not quite as minimal as yours but I tend to stick to around 13-14 items of clothing. I operate on the principle of 3 tops, 3 bottoms and 3 sweaters, 1 t-shirt, 1 nice blouse for dinners out and my exercise leggings and top. I also bring a swimsuit, beanie, gloves etc. My tops and sweaters are wool or cashmere. When you go inside it’s so hot that you need to strip off the layers so my thermals are decent looking tops that can be worn on their own or layered. My toiletries are kept to a minimum. All my liquids are decanted into small containers. I only bring small amounts and if need anything I can buy it overseas. My toiletries are in a clear toiletries bag and kept in my small backpack so I can get them out easily to go through security. I find I need to bring more stuff now than I did ten years ago but every item that goes in my bag is considered and essential. My extras now include vitamins, medication and a small covid kit, masks and hand sanitizer. In my backpack I take my iPad and phone and would be lost without them. I always seem to accumulate “stuff” when I travel and can usually stuff whatever I buy into my husband’s bag or can post things home, which I have done several times. Thanks again for another great travel video. I’d love to see you pack in a carryon for a two month trip to both hot and cold destinations such as a few days in Hawaii on the way to the snow.

I find it easier to pack for cold somehow! Maybe because you don’t get so sweaty or maybe because you’re wearing outerwear more and don’t feel like you need as many clothing changes? Or maybe because I come from a cold climate and it’s my comfort zone.

I've never known anyone allergic to wool but if you are are you sure you're allergic to Merino wool? I ask in that Merino wool tends to be very hypoallergenic.

I've never travelled more than 2.5 weeks before, but I have to say that I haven't experienced that with most clothes. I do unpack when I get to my destination, and take them out of their cubes as soon as I can. I have used dryer sheets before as well! I often wash socks and underwear if needed, and if I don't rewear, I put them in a laundry bag, seperate.
