We were just looking into it as my girlfriend is going on a business trip from ny to ohio for 3 days on american airlines & bought a carry on.. the carry on measurements were like a half inch UNDER what measurements are supposed to be. What we didn't know is when they sell it to you they dont count the wheels. We just read the airline does. So now we have to rush in the morning & get a new one & pack it before 9am. It would be fine except one of us has to get our 7 year old ready for school & on the bus at 8:20. Also we have a 2 year old. Its going to be chaos i predict.😢

How do you clean your bags?? I just took my on their first international trip and they are absolutely trashed with scuffs! I put a lot of elbow grease in with a heavy duty magic eraser and they still aren't back to their pre-trip appearance

is there a luggage sleeve to put on top of the roller-board?

Thank you so much for this detailed review! I ended up going with July's Trunk set. I prefer the locks - they appear simple. The outer shell also looks and feels more solid, and I fell for the dark brown colour - it looks like chocolate bars! I wish Monos would be more adventurous with their colours. 7 lbs is way too heavy for international carry-on as. most carriers have not only size restrictions but also weight.

I have a samsonite this size and I want no zippers-I do like though.

I know that it's not for everyone, but I love mine and it's super convenient for me. One thing I noticed is when you were using the handle to hold it, and it fell, it seemed to fall completely open. There should be a small strap and buckle in there to hold it at a 90 degree angle to make it somewhat stable. Granted, I always just hang it in the hotel (or cabin) closet, so I never use it that way anyway. I usually use the carry-on one for 3 or 4 day trips and it works really well. I have a check-in version for longer trips (like a trip with a cruise). I guess that's why there are so many suitcase options. None of them work for all of us.

Are the Beige zipper details no longer gold or is only the small carry on the tonal matching? My current Beige carry on, medium and large checkin all have gold detailing. wondering if the small carry on tonal matching is them starting to phase out gold hardware🤔 Edit: looked and saw the glossy Beige also has tonal hardware so maybe they’re phasing out the gold hardware?

Doesn’t the laptop get smashed below the heavy stuff on top when packing? Also for security, the laptop being on the inside below all that stuff seems to be a pain to take out for security especially in international airports abroad where tsa pre is not applicable. Because it’s at the bottom you need to unload all the stuff on top to access it. Seems like an inherent design flaw.

Funny, I’ve always wondered how easily others could pack 2 weeks in a carry on, thinking something was wrong with me because I couldn’t. Turns out, I’ve been using the “international size” all along 🤣

Can the Carry on pro be taken in cabin to Mexico on AA?

Too heavy for some international airlines. I use the small TravelPro maxlite 5 for those trips. The max weight is 7 kgs or about 15 pounds. Otherwise, it’s an absolutely wonderful bag. I also have the Mono’s small carry on.
