    Being goth, I never quite understood the work of a capsule wardrobe past something being more dressy or casual. "Oh look, I'll just wear any of my black or dark colored tops with any of my black pants."

    • @VanCrane

      Mmh maybe it makes more sense for you if you wear different silhouettes in your black case 😅 Long shirt to skinny pants or short shirt to wide leg trousers, long cardigans to short dresses, short cardigans to long skirts and so on 🤔😉

    So helpful! I went to CA this past weekend and had a hard time because the weather changed from the coast (freezing) to inland (warm & sunny), but I managed to make it work with what I had. In 1 med packing cube I fit 2 dresses, 2 shirts, 1 long cardigan. I folded 1 pair of dark jeans on top of everything. Still had room for my toiletries bag, clothes steamer, and curling iron! That NEVER happens! On the plane I wore joggers, Tshirt and pullover sweater, and brought my jean jacket. Packed way too many shoes, but they were all sandals, and fit in my personal bag's shoe garage, so let's not talk about that! Now I have to pack for San Mateo in June for work ! 😬😳

      Thank you so much! I actually plan to do a video on this soon. I always wear a comfortable (yet stylish) pair of black wide leg pants. That are cozy and comfortable for the plane; yet easy to pair with other tops for multiple outfits. I pair it with some sort of comfortable (yet cute) shirt and I always bring a lightweight cardigan that goes with my capsule wardrobe. I tend to run hot at the airport and during boarding, and cold on the plane.

    Do you typically wash clothes when you travel? My problem is that I'm a sweater. I also cannot wear wool (it itches me terribly--I'm a knitter, so I know fibers--even a soft merino is a problem). So I have to have enough discrete outfits for each day (maybe can get away with rewearing a pair of jeans or shorts, but I usually don't rewear dresses or tops. I was able to pack for 8 days in a carry on to Phoenix (which was a record for me!), but I was visiting family, so I could run some wash. I also squeezed a lot more outfits in.

    • @ItsTheKellys
      @ItsTheKellys  Год назад +1

      I dont. If I’m on a trip for longer than 10 days, I might, but that’s usually when I do merino (I know you said you can’t) or make sure to pack enough shirts that fold up or roll up small enough. You know yourself best. If you’re going for longer than a week and cannot rewear shirts, pack enough :) I feel like most people sweat on top, not on bottom, so try to rewear bottoms.
      On another note- have you tried carpe products? My husband is a terrible sweater and those products helped so much with 2 weeks in Europe heat without laundry!

    • @lisamintzer4516
      @lisamintzer4516 Год назад +2

      @@ItsTheKellys Never heard of that--I'll take a look. Yes, shirts are worse than bottoms, but it depends (when I'm in a super humid place like Costa Rica or Mexico, forget about rewearing).

    I've been buying multiple tops to fit with one bottom. Should I be buying multiple bottoms to fit one top?

    • @ItsTheKellys
      @ItsTheKellys  Год назад +1

      It’s all up to your style. I prefer prints on the bottom and solids on the top. But a solid bottom can match multiple tops! I also personally think that changing the bottoms really changes the outfit. For example, I could wear the same shirt and different bottoms and have completely different looks.

    • @SmileAlwayz
