As someone who travels often for work, my trick to refine my packing has been : I make a list *after* my trip noting what I wore and what items just made a round-trip in my suitcase; also a list of what I wish I had brought. So I get a little better each time.
I would love to see a carry-on only for 2 weeks for fall/winter. Packing bulky items is always more difficult (even more so when you are larger sized), especially if you need to pack for multiple types of excursion (casual, clubs, hiking/ outdoor activities, etc). This isn't a comment about this video but in general I see most people put out videos about packing for Europe in summer when it's obviously easier to pack when everything is just smaller overall.
I'm not going anywhere, but this was a useful video for those who do carry-on only. Personally, I like to check my one large suitcase because I don't have to worry about packing light (but I do keep the weight limit in mind) and it allows me more room to bring home anything I acquire while away. Not only that, but when I travel, I always have to catch a connecting flight, and I usually have a long wait in between, so I appreciate the fact that only having a small crossbody bag with my passport and essentials makes it more comfortable for me while wandering around the airport, in and out of shops, restaurants, etc, than lugging a suitcase around with me, everywhere I go, including the bathroom! To me, it's well worth the extra cost of checking in my bag. ✈️
Same. For me, packing in the slightly larger suitcase allows me to better organize things. And then its so much easier to find stuff. Anytime I try too hard to get in the true carry on size (20in of pack space + 2 inches for 4 spinner wheels), I am just cramming stuff in like a game of tetris.
I have extensive arthritis (since age 18) and fibromyalgia so I pack a medium bag which I check and a largish personal item where I put all of my meds for the trip. I can’t handle a carry on. Since all in-country flights I take allow me to check two bags for free, it’s a non-issue.
I really enjoy your videos and look forward to them. They are honest and forthright, and you behave in a very friendly (sometimes even apologetic) and humble manner without the slightest hint of bragging *preluxs* .
Note that if you traveling somewhere tropical and very heated, you shouldn`t probably put in your carry on your favourite or very expensive tops, especially if they are ligt colored. You will sweat a lot in a hot tropical weather and your body would also probaly covered in sunscreen. And that mix of sunscreen and sweat sometimes can make yellowish spots and soak the yellowness into the fabric. And those yellow spots are not easy to wash off, some of my clothes was ruined after Thailand and Tanzania. So now I only take with me the tops that I don’t mind getting ruined because getting really sweaty and using sunscreen in many tropical countries is inevitable.
I used to travel a lot for work and truly became a master of packing a carry on and traveling light. Then I had a baby… and, well, carry on life is out the window now but whenever I travel alone I am carry-on only, all the way!
Our whole family spent three weeks in Japan in December 2023 each with a small carry-on only based on careful planning. It was so good for travelling on all the trains! Within New Zealand there is often a strictly enforced 7kg limit for carry-on which is super difficult 😬. Most RUclips carry-on videos wouldn't meet that restriction.
I'm 37 years old and I already have a *hotdups* black Birkin bag, which was the first good choice I ever made. I can afford a Kelly bag in any color. If I were 25, I'd probably buy it. But now I consciously don't want to associate with a woman who has a Kelly and a Birkin. I have no interest in spending $40k on a bag (a piece of leather + labor = up to $1000) Imagine spending $39k on this brand. Totally unnecessary.
I just commented on this!!! Is getting a little harder for us carry on only people! I went to Vietnam 2023 carry on was 7 kilos! (Eva Air) I was in Turkey April 2024 Turkish airline carry on is 7 kilos and in their website they also list weight for the personal item (but going and coming it was not weighed). I am planning a trip to India the airline the best fits schedule and budget is Emirates and they only allow ONE piece of carry on at 7 kilos. So basically either a personal item or a carry on but NOT both (if you are not traveling premium or 1st class) they are making it hard!!!
I went on a 10-day trip to Norway this summer, and since we were above the arctic circle, I needed warmer clothes. The limit on that flight was 8 kg, and the personal item had a size restriction our usual small backpacks didn’t meet. I got a handheld luggage scale and invested in lightweight merino clothes and a lightweight carry-on bag (from July) and my packed bag actually was just over 6 kg. The weight limit really forces you to plan carefully, doesn’t it.
7kg! Wow. I usually only take a rug sack and still that’s small! Since they invented washing sheets, that you can freshen up clothes with for longer trips, packing light is so much easier. It’s usually when you’ve been to some lovely European country and gone shopping that you end up having to wear extra layers on the plane on the way back! Anyone else been there😂…..
I just came back from a two week trip to Italy, Greece, and Croatia which included a cruise. A friend had just come back from a similar trip, and she checked her bag. It never caught up to her on her trip. Since we were going to be on the move, I packed a stylish backpack. Because this was the only bag I was bringing, I had to be very strategic and, I used the 5-4-3-2-1 formula and it was perfect. And yes, I did bring washable items that dried overnight. I watched people struggling with large rolling bags on the trains in Italy and I’m sorry to say I did feel a bit smug😊
"the key to packing light is doing laundry" these are the magic wordsI fully agree with. 😉 I myself are mostly traveling by car (living in Europe) actually I try to avoid air travel completely. And I take my bike and camping gear with me. Anyway, being your longtime watcher and always ready to see "carry on" packing videos, you never know what the future holds😊
I hate the fight for the overhead bins. I am a non conflict person and the anxiety of getting in line ASAP to fight for bin space is too much. Some people are just A-Holes and move your bags away so they can put there's in. Now I intentionally board with group 7 (or whatever is last) and just walk to my seat. I have airline credit cards, which give me free checked bags. An airtag lets you know the location of the bag. I know my bag is at the destination airport. I find my 24inch bag (not including wheels) can comfortably handle a weeks worth of clothes (warm climate) and is easily under 35 pounds. If my trip is longer than 5-6 nights, I plan to do laundry. I only go "carry on size" when: 1) I know I can fit everything I need in the small suitcase. I am not a fan of the carry-on suitcase + giant stuffed backpack/purse. At that point a larger suitcase is more efficient to organize and find you things. 2) I am going to a large metro area where having a really light weight suitcase makes life easier (looking at you NYC!).
I totally hear you. I see almost everyone coming on airplanes with their roller bag and personal item. Very few people are showing up at the gate with just a personal item anymore and you know they are going to be calling for people to "volunteer" to check one of their carry-ons. I drives me nuts when I see a roller bag, really big backpack (like the kind you'd take on a backpack holiday-not a city pack) and another personal item and they sail right past the flight attendant and then I get randomly selected to gate check my bag! Sometimes I am tempted to go back to a checked bag. But...if am going to be moving around a lot on my holiday, especially if you are leaving your destination airport immediately and can't wait for delayed luggage, then carry on is the only way. But taking carry-on has become more stressful in the last couple of years. The fiasco a couple of summers ago with the huge piles of lost luggage at airports and storage facilities has caused a lot of people to go with carry-on, understandably. But for those of us who have been flying with carry on for years and now face the possibility of having your bag randomly gate checked, its anxiety inducing for sure.
Even when we have Delta Comfort with designated overhead bin space, people are still a-holes. It's like why bother paying extra for the upgrade to get anxiety and drama?
I selected my credit card JUST to unlock the two checked bag perk, and now I check every time, even when I only have a small carry-on sized bag to check. As a solo traveler, I love not having to fight for space and lug stuff around the airport.
I don't deal with the overhead bin anymore now that I have the under the seat bag luggage. I am tired of the lifting, dealing with finding bin space, and refused to volunteer or be picked at random to check my luggage.
what I hate more is the fact that airlines refuse to enforce these policies. If I pay for Delta Comfort +, only ppl in that row where I'm seated with can have access to the overhead bins. They should only limit that space for 1 carry-on or a small roller, anything else aside from a personal bag must be check-in. Legit the same situation with the seat squatters, if I pay more, only the ppl who pay should have the benefit. this ish needs to change ASAP
Notifications from you have become my favorite thing to see lately! I'm going on a trip in 2 weeks and I want to pack just the right things, in a smart way. Love to watch another travel packing video from you!
Hi Christina. Great informative video. I agree. Getting notifications from you has changed my life. Fashion wise, decluttering, packing, and most importantly, financially. You have changed my life in many ways. Thank you. P.s where are your barrel leg pants from. I love it. Thanks.
@@cassiesmith9183 🥹🥹❤️❤️ that’s fantastic to hear! They’re the tibi Brancusi jeans - check the “outlet” section on their website I think they’re on mega markdown
This is fantastic. I’ve always been a chronic “overpacked”. I’m off to Europe for 3 weeks on Sunday and I’ve organised a carry on only. The only thing is for here in Singapore they WILL weigh your luggage EVERY time and 7 kg is what you get. So I’m always happy to just check in my luggage as it’s a lot more stress free.
Useful for shorter trips. I am sometimes away for 30 days in the south of Sweden. The weather can be all from 13 degrees Celsius and rain and 35 degrees C and sun. You never know so you have to pack for a varaity of weather conditions.
I love packing cubes. It's like having portable dressers where you can categorize your clothing. Traveling to England in the early fall for a 9 day trip. We will need to check the weather before we leave to determine what type of clothes to bring. Great video.
I am continually impressed by how many relevant simpsons clips you can fit into your videos. This was well timed as I'm flying next month, and although it's a short trip, nice reminder of what I don't need.
I have two pre-loved *hotdups* that people left the stickers on, and when you remove them, the hardware looks different than the hardware right next to it that the sticker didn’t touch. It’s not because the other has scratches, the sticky stuff affected the finish.
This is so similar to how I pack. I love packing light, though I do sometimes pack an extra packable tote so that I can bring home any shopping. I will check my carry on suitcase on the way home and bring my personal item and extra tote on the plane.
I’m traveling to Paris in less than a month and I’m going to pack my stuff into a backpack and very small carry on. I will only be there for 5 full days. It’s so helpful watching these videos you really don’t need to take that much. I had a very hard time when I traveled to Japan about 1.5 year ago and had to carry my 50 lb luggage using the metro, never again 😰 ✈️
i love my Monos bags. I have the carry-on (I fly a lot on smaller planes with short haul flights and airlines are very stingy with size) and recently picked up the carry on plus to give me a bit more breathing room for longer holidays. I have been carry on only for years. With more people going carry on and sometimes sneaking their personal item in the overhead bin (your personal item is supposed to go under the seat in front of you, people!) sometimes full flights have been stressful with being randomly selected to gate check my bag, and I am reminded how much I hate waiting for my luggage at the carrousel.
I was used to carry carry on (😂), then I had a kid and we usually packed a large trunk to accomodate my child's "outfit". Y'all know toddler change their outfit 6x a day and it's impossible to pack light with them 😂😂😂. Now my kid is 7 y.o, I expect we can go traveling light again because he doesn't change outfit as often as before!
I'm headed to Africa in September for 8 days. I'm limited to 33 lbs. on our regional plane. They do laundry for you while you're there, so I'll be wearing one outfit and packing 3. I always carry an entire change of clothes in my carry-on, just in case my luggage gets lost. I loved your idea for folding things and putting them in the packing cube upright. Thanks for the great content.
5 months from now a solo transatlantic cruise Miami , mostly sea days, the 4 "day" stops (Azores, Portugal, Spain, France) and return home from England. I am currently planning/working on my carry on and personal item bag strategy, and things to put in them.
How exciting!! Get black pants/trousers and 6 tops for dinner on the cruise. U can then use the tops the next day with capris/ or shorts/skirt Englands weather is nuts, a large coat is not needed but a wind/rain jacket will be. Like a cagoole. Google it, lived in one for 5 yrs during high school!
I've never had any airline, during domestic nor international flights, lose my luggage, because I save up a bit more for the ease of nonstop flights. Also I'm travelling to emigrate, so I've been doing longer and longer trips, and even with paring down my clothes to their bare minimum I still need checked luggage for 2-3 month trips!
Traveling next to Latvia in July. We travel sometimes with 1 personal item only (small backpack only). In that case, I bring only one pair of shoes and buy hair care in the airport or at the destination. Travelling light is awesome and can be achievable by planning ahead so your pieces all mix and match. I usually have fun planning my travel capsule wardrobe!!
In Australia, it is only 7kgs and 1 personal handbag together when travelling other states. They even weigh you 😢 The carry on luggage is already heavy hence I use a duffle bag to maximise my kgs.
They weigh you as a person? They fo that on helicopter rentals as they have to distribute the weight evenly on both sides for better handling. But I've never heard of airlines doing so
Thank you for the reminder that less is more lol. I'm not going by plane but we are headed to the beach about an hour from me for a week and I'm attempting to pack in weekender bag and a small backpack vs the duffle bag I usually use. We end up lugging a lot more things for kids so I'm trying to cut corners anywhere I can. We do have access to a washer and dryer as well.
I think it totally depends on where you are going, how long time you will be away and what you are going to do when you get there! A long weekend in London I will have just a carry-on with my things but sometimes put in my big suitcase. It depends on if we are going shopping or just looking at musicals & going to museums and stand-up places. A three week vacation in Thailand is easy to pack in a carry-on but a three week vacation to South America with both sunbathing, hiking in the mountains where it is cold and visiting big cities is a totally different thing. Then you need a big suitcase as just hikingboots and warmer cloths takes up a lot of space!
Thank for this! I’m travelling to Scotland and Norway next week, feeling anxious about what to pack! Never travelled to UK before. This video is a great help! Thanks Christina!
✈ Greece in September - Have traveled for work all my life. Often was paged or called in the airport with a reminder or a revision to my itinerary. Have never checked baggage--saves time, keeps you organized and flexible. Always wear your heaviest items and a shawl or heavy scarf to double as a blanket in the plane, a pillow, or a wrap to dress up an outfit.
The moment I saw the *rrcopys* tote, I knew I had to have it. Luxurious materials, vibrant colors and attention to detail make these bags a true fashion statement
I also own that Monos carry on and I love it and got it specficallu for the outside pocket for my laptop. However, after using it a few times, I observed that filling that pocket takes away about an inch in depth from the actual inner crater of the suitcase so you have to pack less.
I do fly every now and then to which I've always had thought I could use a better method to packing and this gave me alot of insight. I love the bags idea! and keeping the liquids out of the luggage until past security sounds way less anxiety. When I go to Washington I will for sure be using some of these tips!
how do you pack 2 weeks of underwear + clothes in carry-on? do you do laundry at the hotel? also some hotels won't provide toiletries due to environmental issues, you also need to haul shampoo/shower gel/face cleanser etc
when it comes to security and important documents my biggest tip is organise all of your important files so boarding passes and passport into one document folder. make it the most obnoxious disgusting neon colour too, literally one you can see from space bc not only does it save you so much time having everything all together for easy access at security, it also relieves so much stress as its all in one place, can be taken out and put back in with no hassle, and the colour means you can easily see it when searching for it. my mum came up with the idea and i can't live without it, i love love love it as someone who stresses about losing my passport every 5 seconds AHAHAH xx
This is my first (but not the last) purchase of a D U P B A G Y bag. For the affordable price, it exceeded my expectations! It's soft, the perfect size, and the color is gorgeous! Love this bag!
I would add a foldable travel steamer to deal with wrinkled clothes... Not gonna lie, I have probably rewatched this video 5+ times. Love it! Watch it each time I am going to travel.😂
For our vacation this year, I'm challenging myself to go with just a carry-on & personal bag. Oh & toiletries, We've done this since 2007 & it works every time... We wait with the shampoo, conditioner & body wash until we get where we're going, then find a CVS/Walgreens, or someplace like that & get the full-size bottles, we both share them, then when we're ready to leave to come back home the bottles are empty or really close to it, so we toss them in the garbage on our way out the door.
Depends how long is the travel. And always check weight limit on carry on of your airline. Coz my luggage is about 2 - 3 kilos already and where I usually travel I’m allowed 7 kilos only.
Great advice! The last time I travelled abroad I did carry on only and loved it. I will visit my family in Germany for 2 weeks this summer, I plan on doing the same thing. It's a little easier, when you stay with someone who has a washing machine of course. In general I overpack, but I will try hard to only bring essentials.
I can't lift a suitcase into the overhead bins. I check a medium soft side suitcase, usually only two thirds full. My issue is a heavy personal item. Can't seem to be able to downsize that. 😅
I found your tip very helpful but the problem is you don't always find a place to do laundry. I always travel in the summer so I am not wearing tops twice without washing them. The sink only works for socks and underwear.
I consider myself a light-traveler. However, every single time I travel I realize that I end up overpacking. So I’m always trying to learn new techniques and packing videos are always welcomed. On my next trip, I’m going to Japan. ✈️
I have a trip to Florida coming up in a couple of months, and while I have a general idea of what I want to bring, the next step is for me to condense that in carry-on only luggage. I have both a rolling duffel bag as well as a travel backpack, so this video will definitely be referenced when the time comes closer! 😊✈
Hey Christina, would you mind saving the link to those clear packing cubes? Really look useful, also link to the clothes packing box if you can. Thank you!!
Im a queen at packing (in my opinion lol). My trick is that i always pack clothing that can lay flat or take up minimal space in my carry on. I have traveled for a week at a time, multiple times, with myself, a newborn, a toddler, and an 8 year old, in one suitcase and a book bag lol. Im currently packing for a week long vacation with my little family of 4 and im doing it in one duffle bag!
✈️ I’m going to Greece for 3 weeks and this is my first time going solo and carry-on only! These videos are so helpful! The only thing I’m a bit worried about is having space for all the gifts I’m for sure going to want to buy…
I go to France several times a year. I'm carry-on only going to France. Coming home, I check my rolling carry-on so I can use a tote and my personal item on the trip home. I usually buy gifts in the Paris airport in the duty-free shops. My family and friends have enough stuff, so they want foodie items that US Customs allows! For example, Ladurée macarons, salted caramel, Kusmi or Mariage teas, etc.
I used to be great at this but small children changed the equation. Now the children are teens and I can go back to packing light, but I need to remember how! This is great. Thank you.
Modt airlines noe specify 1 bag as cary on no personal item and weight must be 7 or 8 kg when packed. That gives little room to manoevre but will try to go with that and wear heaviest stuff.. as winter summer packing much harder.
Good tips. I take fewer undies and hand wash. I use the ‘bundle’ method for fewer wrinkles, and skip jeans because they are bulky and heavy when compared to dress pants. Weight is more of my issue since I’m short and hefting the bag over my head is getting harder as I get older. Thankfully there is usually someone taller wanting to get by me on the plane that will help.
@candicewaller403 isn't it the best!? I have far more interesting things to do then worry about what I wear. I'm still able to pack enough for 5 days without doing laundry. Anymore that 5 I do a load. I don't even bring a purse. I have a foldable tote in my backpack. Every hotel or Airbnb has soap and hair washing stuff these days. I don't know why more people don't try this!

When you do carry-on only travels, how do you carry around things you purchase on a trip? Do you go to the local post office or to a specialised delivery centre instead?
✈️✈️✈️ I’m going to Portugal for a month (2 weeks working remotely and 2 weeks holiday). I’m going by ferry and estate car. So, space is less of an issue, but I want to learn how to carry less stuff more generally, as I always overpack and still have to carry my heavy case up stairs, etc. Thanks for a fantastically useful video. 🎉🎉🎉
My only question with carry on only is what to do about souvenirs? I’m going to Italy and plan to bring back souvenirs, possibly wine… so I can see going to Italy with just a carry on but I’m not sure about the trip back.
I’ve done carryon only a lot and there are just some instances where a checked bag is just better and easier. I tried the true earth strips recently and found them to be very ineffective
✈I love packing videos! Totally agree that it gets easier and lighter each time. I'd only pack a large roller bag like this if I was traveling somewhere really fancy (Like my Vegas wedding later this year). I much prefer just my small backpack and my fanny pack for casual travel. Fewer toiletries and less tech are my two biggest changes for getting my packing super light.
Just got back from a car trip to the UK. We went for a week, weather was better than the forecast so barely needed my jacket. I wore everything I brought, but some more often than others. I regret bringing my heavier shoe. Should have taken the Samba instead. We discovered the soapbar type product for shampoo and skincare, but it wasn’t really an issue as we were driving. I don’t wear make up, but always bring a daycream, my fave being Biodermal anti ageing sunscreen factor 30 or 50. While there bought a breton stripe t-shirt and cargo shorts from M & S which I will prrobably wear to pieces over the coming years. My daughter bought two quality gilets to suit her vintage style.
If it’s not too much hassle when you decide to make another packing video I’d be interested to know how heavy it is once packed? Lots of carry on airlines have a 7-10kg limit so just curious if this method also achieves that. Thanks for the video!
✈️ heading back to CA soon for a week. My friends always say I pack light in the first place but I’m always open to more tips and tricks! Thanks for this😊
💯 agree I do carry on only 99% of the time. I prefer hotels that have laundry service so I can wash my clothes. This way I don't have to bring so much.
I noticed this and it is timely in that we are going to Australia for three weeks and a split week in Honolulu at the start and end of our trip to break it up. Now I am rethinking what I have packed. ✈
I pack in a similar manner, but how do you manage the weight restrictions on most European airlines? A lot of them have a 17-18 pound limit. I switched suitcases to a 3 pound backpack and I still have trouble meeting the weight restrictions. Your suitcases weighs more than 8 pounds which doesnt leave a whole lot of allowance for everthing else. I would love to use a roller bag instead of a backpack, but I can't seem to make that work. 😒
Heading to Halifax with my baby and toddler, so only half of the carryon bag will be mine! I plan to follow this guide, except I'll count what I'm wearing since I have limited space. Thanks for the tips!
A very helpful video. Thanks, Christina. You didn’t include a handbag for your dressier outfit. Do you just use your Fanny pack even when you’re dressed up?
Definitely now a carry on only now. ❤️ I was forced to going on a mission trip in 2022 and doing it every time I fly and traveling lighter in our RV. If I need something, I will run a thrift store; we have a w/d in our RV. 😉
✈ Going to Japan in the fall. One thing I must travel with and have on before I even leave for the airport are compression socks, especially on long-haul flights, and artificial tears because like you say, "Planes are incredibly dehydrating." 😢
🛩 I'm glad I found your channel and this video. I have done a lot of traveling this month and every time I went on shorter trips I seemed to pack more. I'm definitely going to try your method for the next trip I go on and see if I cam get the whole family into a normal size suitcase instead of 3!! Thanks again!
For a long time, as Chanel prices have risen, I no longer thought I could afford it. I think I would be happy to have a *hotdups* as a travel bag that I don't have to take care of. By the way, I'm sure no one would have a hard time telling the difference. Thanks for the comparison.
YES LAUNDRY!!!!! ((It's great to get hotels with laundry machines but if not scope out a laundromats the same way you would restaurants. >>> Rural Japan was the only time this bit me BAD >>> Laundromat was long gone & no others in the area soooo that was a wash in the tub sort of trip and NOT fun at all)) I'm off to pack for two trips: 2 days in Chicago & 4 days in Oklahama then a 5 week trip which involves NYC, the UK, Spain and NYC (Holidays, 2 Broadway shows & argh!) Soooooo I will be doing laundry. Have fun. Travel Safe. Laundry sheets ROCK! Hugs, Z.✈✈✈✈✈✈
✈ Heading to Istanbul in just a little over a week. I was following the 5,4,3,2,1 method too but I also felt it was too much and there were things I wasn't wearing. I am going to try and step it down this next trip.
I haven’t learned to only have a carryon, but I plan on using a Medicaid checked with a backpack this summer for London. I am trying not to be an over packer. Six days I think 6 pairs of a mix of jeans and cargo pants and 1 dress. Plus six tops 2 pairs of shoes 12 pairs of underwear and 7 pairs of socks. How is that clothing idea?
As someone who travels often for work, my trick to refine my packing has been : I make a list *after* my trip noting what I wore and what items just made a round-trip in my suitcase; also a list of what I wish I had brought. So I get a little better each time.
Thank you! I've been travelling more for business and even when I pack 'minimal' seem to have unused items so I am going to take note next time.

This is a great idea. I usually make a mental note, but definitely better to write things down! 😊
Vacuum bags are savers when your’e going somewhere really cold. I got mine from Amazon and I bring the tiny vacuum machine w/ me. It never fails!
And for the flight back? How do you vacuum the bags?

Absolutely agree. I travel with my two kids, so carry on is not the case,I need to have my hands free😂
I have extensive arthritis (since age 18) and fibromyalgia so I pack a medium bag which I check and a largish personal item where I put all of my meds for the trip. I can’t handle a carry on. Since all in-country flights I take allow me to check two bags for free, it’s a non-issue.

@@MavromatisEliszewski I think you replied to the wrong comment? 😊
I just commented on this!!! Is getting a little harder for us carry on only people!
I went to Vietnam 2023 carry on was 7 kilos! (Eva Air)
I was in Turkey April 2024 Turkish airline carry on is 7 kilos and in their website they also list weight for the personal item (but going and coming it was not weighed).
I'm obsessed with packing videos
Sameeeee haha
Me too 😅
Ditto!
Packing for myself 👎🏻watching others pack 👍🏼😂
Pareil ici 😅
"the key to packing light is doing laundry" these are the magic wordsI fully agree with. 😉
I myself are mostly traveling by car (living in Europe) actually I try to avoid air travel completely.
I only go "carry on size" when:
1) I know I can fit everything I need in the small suitcase.
🥹 that means a lot, thank you!! Yay enjoy your trip!
@@Christinamychas thank you.
I was really panicked trying to figure out how to pack for 2 weeks in Europe- this helped SO much!
I live in London - don't trust the forecast, pack for ALL weather!
Yes good call!
I’m traveling to Paris in less than a month and I’m going to pack my stuff into a backpack and very small carry on. I will only be there for 5 full days. It’s so helpful watching these videos you really don’t need to take that much.
I had a very hard time when I traveled to Japan about 1.5 year ago and had to carry my 50 lb luggage using the metro, never again 😰
✈️
i love my Monos bags.
Exactly. I used to be a carry on only traveler but with a baby with their food and extra outfits, there is no way
I'm headed to Africa in September for 8 days.
I've had my luggage lost more than once, so like you, I always have one full set of clothes in a separate carry-on bag if I am checking luggage
U can then use the tops the next day with capris/ or shorts/skirt
Englands weather is nuts, a large coat is not needed but a wind/rain jacket will be.
But I've never heard of airlines doing so
Putting clothes in vertically and your practical reason for doing so, is something i will definitely be doing in future.
Waterproofs, midge spray, boots and incase you manage to see the sun, shorts and t shirt.
Wholeheartedly agree! I traveled to Germany last October with only a carryon. Only took 2 pairs of shoes.
I love packing videos....because I either way underpack or way overpack. Ha. This is a big help! Thanks, Christina!!!!🥰
I'm a bit confused. Normally, I'd buy a bag from *hotdups* for about $100 and use it for about a year. That's what I do.
I packed in one carry on things for me and my 5 y.o. for 8 days at Menorca. We have everything we need and more ❤ Love packing for the summer trips ✈️
how do you pack 2 weeks of underwear + clothes in carry-on? do you do laundry at the hotel? also some hotels won't provide toiletries due to environmental issues, you also need to haul shampoo/shower gel/face cleanser etc
when it comes to security and important documents my biggest tip is organise all of your important files so boarding passes and passport into one document folder. make it the most obnoxious disgusting neon colour too, literally one you can see from space bc not only does it save you so much time having everything all together for easy access at security, it also relieves so much stress as its all in one place, can be taken out and put back in with no hassle, and the colour means you can easily see it when searching for it. my mum came up with the idea and i can't live without it, i love love love it as someone who stresses about losing my passport every 5 seconds AHAHAH xx
This is my first (but not the last) purchase of a D U P B A G Y bag. For the affordable price, it exceeded my expectations! It's soft, the perfect size, and the color is gorgeous! Love this bag!
If you travel alot, then you can find cheap but premium quality travel items by just searching Travoire and Co on google:)
✈️✈️✈️ I’m already (over) planning a trip I’m taking next year so I love this content! I plan on doing 6 days in a backpack so all this helps.
Lit flying out tommorow, and haven't packed my suitcase... Really helped me focuse on what I'll really need, thank you 😁
Have a great trip!!!
@@Christinamychas thank you 🤗
I would add a foldable travel steamer to deal with wrinkled clothes...
✈️✈️✈️ Not going anywhere soon but I am in that phase where I watch packing and what’s in my bag videos ❤
Depends how long is the travel. And always check weight limit on carry on of your airline. Coz my luggage is about 2 - 3 kilos already and where I usually travel I’m allowed 7 kilos only.
I LOVE Tkee flip-flops! Funny that your the first person I've ever heard speak on Tkee. They are worth every penny!!
Thank you for spelling it out, now I can Google it. 🥰
Recently went to nyc and your tips were sooo valuable. Totally changed the way I travel, bringing only essencials that I ended up wearing. Loved it!
Thank you!!
They’re all linked! ❤❤
Thank you.
Clear and concise - thank you! Excited to see how I fare on my next trip with a carry-on
Good luck with a carry on that already weighs 4kg when most airlines in Europe allow only 7kg incl your personal item bag.
Im going to Paris today and enjoyed the tips. Im checking a bag but thats more so because i prefer to travel hands free.
Modt airlines noe specify 1 bag as cary on no personal item and weight must be 7 or 8 kg when packed. That gives little room to manoevre but will try to go with that and wear heaviest stuff.. as winter summer packing much harder.
✈️✈️✈️ thanks as always, Christina!! I’m going to Philly this summer so I’m excited to use this method for the week I’m there😊
I'm heading to Daytona, then Vegas. Both 5 days, back pack only
Huzzah for personal item-only travel! My backpack is all I need for most trips, so I don't even need to fuss with the overhead.

Hi Christina! What size electronics case is shown in your video? Relative to your stuff, it looks like a good size. Thanks!
I love your fashion sense and style! amazing. keep being yourself
✈️going nowhere but we love to learn and be ready when opportunities come.❤
Just got back from a car trip to the UK. My daughter bought two quality gilets to suit her vintage style.
im going flying for the first time ever and i know nothing of packing for this, especially a flight, so your video helped me alot here thank you.✈✈
If it’s not too much hassle when you decide to make another packing video I’d be interested to know how heavy it is once packed? Lots of carry on airlines have a 7-10kg limit so just curious if this method also achieves that. Thanks for the video!
✈️ heading back to CA soon for a week. My friends always say I pack light in the first place but I’m always open to more tips and tricks! Thanks for this😊
💯 agree I do carry on only 99% of the time. I prefer hotels that have laundry service so I can wash my clothes. This way I don't have to bring so much.
Monos is the BEST! I have the same one you do but in a different color. Thank you for this great video!
What a great video, I loved that it's all carry-on... I wish I was as fashionable as you!!
leaving for a month in scotland in less than a week and bringing a carry on and backpack! so helpful thank you !!
Having lived in Scotland, I'll suggest you bring waterproofs, midge spray and a jumper ( sweater). Have a great time
thank you so much!
Great vid! I just spent 8 days in Paris and only brought a carry on. I still managed to pack too much! 😊
✈ Going to Japan in the fall. One thing I must travel with and have on before I even leave for the airport are compression socks, especially on long-haul flights, and artificial tears because like you say, "Planes are incredibly dehydrating." 😢
✈️ Thanks for sharing. I always learn something new from you. I'm prepping for a trip to Thailand in few months.
This came at the right time I am packing for a trip in a month ! Also can I ask where your satin cargo trousers are from they looked amazing ! 😊
Where’s the front pouch for your Monos backpack? Don’t like it or just use it inside the bag?
I’m going to Morocco next week for 12 days. I always bring carry-on. And back pack. Never know if get lost.
What if you are going to two different climate?
For a long time, as Chanel prices have risen, I no longer thought I could afford it. I think I would be happy to have a *hotdups* as a travel bag that I don't have to take care of. By the way, I'm sure no one would have a hard time telling the difference. Thanks for the comparison.

YES LAUNDRY!!!!! ((It's great to get hotels with laundry machines but if not scope out a laundromats the same way you would restaurants. >>> Rural Japan was the only time this bit me BAD >>> Laundromat was long gone & no others in the area soooo that was a wash in the tub sort of trip and NOT fun at all))
I'm off to pack for two trips: 2 days in Chicago & 4 days in Oklahama then a 5 week trip which involves NYC, the UK, Spain and NYC (Holidays, 2 Broadway shows & argh!) Soooooo I will be doing laundry.
Have fun.
Travel Safe.
Laundry sheets ROCK!

I love my bar shampoo/conditioner for travel.
Please share where you bought your night stand.
