I am not a minimalist....BUT I must say this is the first video that I have seen which is truly realistic and could ACTUALLY work for those of us that overpack OR have difficulty deciding. I will most definitely try this out. Thank you for sharing. Happy travels.
I love the fact that you didn’t tell us to buy some new unnecessary stuff to pack things in. Everything is so realistic and efficiently packed. Thank you ❤
I agree with the others. This is one of the best packing videos I've ever looked at! I'm 76 and have traveled all over the world with just a carry on, yet I learned a couple of new things from your video. I soon leave for 2 weeks in Santorini and will be trying your 'brick' method of packing my clothing. The one thing I do differently from you is that I put my liquids in my backpack until passing through security; then I move it to my carry on. I will now look forward to watching your other videos as you have done an excellent job with this one. Thanks
I use that folding method too, but I then put them in a packing cube. I usually travel to several spots and mostly at hostels so it makes keeping track easier for me. Cashmere, merino wool or polar fleece for warm mid layers are a game changer. They’re just if not more warm than those chunky acrylic sweater, but weigh much less, take up less space and don’t have to be washed as for the because they don’t pick up smells as much. Same with my base layer - merino wool tees or linen for summer are more breathable, get less stinky and dry faster than cotton or polyester tops.
So tidy and aesthetically pleasing. Exactly what I was looking for to help me pack for an upcoming trip. I love order and non garish colors in clothes/products. Your video is the best one out of all of the many videos I have watched! Thank you for taking the time to film this.
I'm good at packing but like to see how others pack so I can pick up even better packing tips. For shoes, I wrap them individually and line them along the edges of my suitcase. Saves more room than packing them together in a shoe bag. I also use packing cubes. For rainy and cold I layer by using my Columbia rain jacket and wear my fleece and long sleeve underneath or I wear a packable. coat.
It is really hard to get that packing balance just right! I'm great at over-packing, but have definitely under-packed multiple times and been miserable in unsuitable clothes or shoes. Another thing to mention might be to check liquids restrictions for int'l return trips - security when leaving the UK requires the bags to be leakproof, ie. actual plastic ziplocks in a specific size, no fabric zips - lots of Americans end up having their bags searched after scanning & have to dispose of their bathroom products. And as someone with food allergies who travels often so needs to pack plenty of snacks for my own safety, it can be really frustrating when TSA staff have wild ideas about what counts as 'liquid' and my safe food gets thrown away!
If you’re flying with a carry on, you know you have to haul out all your electronics and liquids (10 items max volume 1 L) to an x-ray tray. Therefore I always use a relatively large handbag for that. Along with my pwrsonal papers, traveldocuments and what not. That way I don’t have to take my carry on suitcase apart when going through security.
i never comment on videos but honestly this was so therapeutic to watch. you created it in a tutorial style that i loved. so informative yet relaxing and a touch of funny. i can’t want to watch again while i pack!
I am going to Japan for 17 days, and will use your method of packing, your tips are really realistic, relatable and helpful, thank you for such a great video content ❤
That packing was super impressive, It gets so hard when you're packing for multiple "season" of weather in one trip. Cheers, I would have not been able to accomplish that one :)
I find your packing videos very soothing, manageable and informative. I used them for our first family 2 week trip to Europe with 2 older kids and your packing tips and method worked so well. I felt really prepared for the trip and my kids learned how fun (and not stressful) traveling can be. I’m rewatching all your videos now in anticipation for our Norway trip this fall with our family and MIL who is Norwegian. I sent her your videos too because we are doing just carry-on and she hasn’t ever traveled that way. Thank you!
Such a pretty, well organized and filmed video! I really enjoyed watching your process and took away many good ideas. Love your color palate, too…it was somehow calming to watch this - thanks so much!✌️💕
I hope you had a great trip to New Zealand. I've been traveling internationally up to 2 weeks with just a carry-on. For years. The most challenging part for me is always the shoes. Needing different shoes for hiking, comfort on plane etc. I think I'm going to give up skirts as that always makes for an extra set of shoes. I love all your pouches I hope you got a chance to read that book - one of my favorites. I think I will download books in the future though as they are so heavy and half the time I don't end up reading them.
Too much weight in this carry-on. Many airlines allow only 8 kg. Impresionante el orden de empacar.Permite viajar 4 weeks if you have access to do laundry.
@@beatrizdeelguezabalaristiz6119 her carry on is definitely not too heavy here? I've successfully stuffed carry-ons much heavier and never had an issue
@@ks96119 not true at all.. I've traveled 3 weeks with a carry on only and still brought home souvenirs.. it's not rocket science, you just don't bring a lot or you buy small things. You can also just ship souvenirs home before you leave
Oooh emmm. Can I just say, I do the exact same folding technique for long trips! The mix of rolling and the konmari ❤ Gonna call the brick folding from now on. Thank you for sharing this !
these are so satisfying to watch. i usually travel with a carry on sized backpack and another daypack, but it's cumbersome to be double backpacking all the time. this looks so much easier
Thanks for a very helpful video! The tips will be useful when I travel carry-on only to the U.K. in the fall. I will take my kindle and if bag is too heavy will read my kindle book on my iPad.
Great job, Ashlynne! This is my style of packing/items that I wear. This video will be so helpful as I pack for our road trip to Chicago...still challenging myself to pack lighter. 😁
I love watching your videos and how organise you are, it makes me so inspired to change my life for the better ! Lots of love & hugs 🤗 ❤from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺
These videos are so great! Very informational. I used this method when my husband and I went to Mexico for a month and we were able to fit everything in one suitcase. It was incredible. We plan to do it again for our upcoming Italy trip, so thank you so much for the helpful tips and tricks!
I so enjoy your channel, your calming presentation and ideas for packing light 🤗 I am such an over-packer ! No first aid kit? As a nurse I can’t not pack one lol the just in case need for illness or mishaps is an occupational hazard.
We fold the same way! I've been doing a lot travelling the past 2 1/2 years and ended up with the same fold by coincidence. It really fits all suitcases and types of clothing.
Oh my!!! I wish I could pack like this! My suitcases look like my stressed brain. Lol!!! I have so many what if’s that I pack and I make myself crazy!!! I pay for xtra bags and now I’m embarrassed!!! It’s the same as any day though. What I wear depends on how I feel so I have to bring all sorts of stuff!
flying to SF in a month! Been going a lot this past year for my LDR but I've always overpacked and this cute and cozy video really helped me out a lot! Plus seeing you pack your camera makes me wanna do it too! Thank you :)
Hi! A few questions, as I have traveled to a few countries with just a 30L backpack but had some struggles: Do you actually use all of the makeup and haircare products you bring? Do you mind wearing dirty clothes for a few days or do you wash clothes in the sink/laundromat every few days when you are traveling?
This is a great video! It is very similar to how I pack for long trips. The one thing additional thing I always pack is ibuprofen. Although this drug is relatively easy to find worldwide, sometimes you can only get it from drugstores, and sometimes these drug stores are not open. Other than that, this was a perfect list and a perfect process. Well done!
Hello! Thank you so much for these very thoughtful videos. I wanted to ask your thoughts on the suitcase that you are using. I noticed that you had a different suitcase last year ago I think it’s still the same brand, I wanted to know if the reason for this new suitcase, Luz, if the other one broke? Are they pretty durable?
Thanks for making these videos. Which suitcase did you use for international travel? The international airlines seem to be requiring smaller and smaller luggage, which makes it tough to go completely carry on.
I noticed you have a Canadian passport. Funny enough, that is where I am going next week (visiting my boyfriend) and have been watching videos on how to travel with just a carry-on. I also bought that same suitcase today at target! I knew it looked familiar =D
This is so helpful! I’m leaving on a trip and was wondering how I can fit everything in just a question on what you wear for pjs also I’m assuming you have towels and shower sponges etc included where you’re staying??
I like how you pack had packing bags, but packed too much and suitcase was too heavy. I use intl size 21" travel pro. I can put 1 month of clothes in it. Plus travel pro tote bag. Going to Europe next week. 1 week on land in barcelona.then cruise to NYC. Cold! Will try your packing ideas.thx!!😎
We go jersey shore every year for month i want try packing less next summer what your thought? We dont have washing machines to do laundry yet but hopefully i can at my uncle aunts house next time it gets humidly and usually walk up to the beach for week day during day and shopping with my aunt on weekend 😅❤
Not exactly sure, but I can tell you that I didn’t have any issues flying with it as a carry on internationally en route to New Zealand or domestically flying between islands in New Zealand! 🥰
Hey! I know it’s a long shot that you’ll see this, but I was curious where you got the white fluffy cardigan? I’m assuming it’s not sold anymore since it’s not listed in the video description, but thought I could check the brand for similar things :) Thank you!
Did your t-shirt really say Bryn Mawr? We’re everywhere . . . .great video!! Edited to add: I have the same earrings!! I’m going to use your hack for my upcoming trip!
Your packing style is so nice and efficient. But if you tell me why people packing videos I was at the same question does no one bring soap or body wash? Or do u buy it when u get there ?
Hi there, I was wondering what the suitcase brand is. It's not available on the link that you posted anymore. Probably because its been about a year. lol if you can let me know about it, that would be great.
What are some of your favorite travel essentials? 🤍
Clothes xxx.
Well you pretty much covered all the essentials. In fact i could live permanently on what you packed!
Notebook and pensils
Pashmina/Turkish Towel/Wrap Scarf...so versatile any season (in warmer temperatures, indoor Air Conditioning can be cold!)... 😁
Wet wipes

I agree with the liquids bag, it's easier to pull out at security, than unzipping the whole suitcase and back.
i absolutely live for your packing videos…they’re so aesthetic and methodical and really inspire me to pack in a carry on! thank you!!
Haha yes!! I love that! They are some of my favorite to film 🥰🤍
Loved this methodical and beautiful video
Omg finally someone who packs with no travel organizer! I really like this. I pack close to this but definitely learned some tricks. Love this!
Love it! The only thing I do differently is stuffing my socks & underwear inside the shoes - uses that empty space.
I use that folding method too, but I then put them in a packing cube. I usually travel to several spots and mostly at hostels so it makes keeping track easier for me.

I do love my Northface polar fleece.
I love travelling with polar fleece and linen, some great tips, also microfibre or exercise shirts are great
I’m a huge fan of cashmere! Very light and very warm.
merino and cashmere are extremely expensive.

Loved the video. The only thing i would recommend is put a towel under the suitcase if youre going
To pack on your bed.

Going to Spain and Italy this summer and planning on taking a carry-on only. This was super helpful!! I hope you enjoyed NZ

love your editing style! It feels so personal but also so relaxing at the same time
I love your calm manner and easy to understand information. I’m going to try this method for packing next week! Thanks for sharing.
This was so satisfying to watch 😊
Aww so glad to hear that!!
I’m so curious to know how much the carry-on weighed!
Me too. Cos usually only 7kg is allowed in Asia 😢
That packing was super impressive, It gets so hard when you're packing for multiple "season" of weather in one trip. Cheers, I would have not been able to accomplish that one :)
Those are definitely some of the hardest situations to pack for, but layers really do make a huge difference!! 🤍
Thanks for sharing, I really enjoy your packing videos, they help get me in the packing mood and not procrastinate!
Thank you for this. I don't travel often enough to know what I will and won't need for two weeks. This vid will definitely help.

What about home clothes ? A poncho/ umbrella , sunscreen , hat? Travel pillow , meds ?

Not a nurse but I’m the same. I always pack the “just in case” stuff which ends up being emergency kits. I just like being prepared. LOL.
I no longer over packed and I found what works for me but I always pack a first aid kit always even if it's a weekend getaway.
I agree, this konMari/ brick method of storing clothes makes it like scanning for a book on a book shelf.
We fold the same way! I've been doing a lot travelling the past 2 1/2 years and ended up with the same fold by coincidence. It really fits all suitcases and types of clothing.

i will be on a trip where the weather would unpredictable and your vid helps me a lot on deciding better / not overpack! thank you!!
You’re should had pull the toiletries bag in the backpack, because it’s easier for TSA to see them instead of opening up the carry on bag.
Enjoy watching you so much.Where is your day bag from loved it so much.
some of the best packing tips I've encountered !
Beautifully presented and thought through. I do wonder however, did you weigh your bag and did it exceed 7 kg?
So glad If ound this video. Exactly what I was looking 4 ❤

Do you use a power converter for your curling wand? My flat iron short circuit even with a power converter.
Where did you visit in New Zealand? Did you miss the cyclone Gabrielle?
Very good! I just don't understand why 2 backpacks? The white can be replaced by the black one once you're there right?
I love your makeup bag. Where did you buy it?
I love your makeup bag!! Where is it from?
Your packing style is so nice and efficient. But if you tell me why people packing videos I was at the same question does no one bring soap or body wash? Or do u buy it when u get there ?
I learned a lot...so what kind of luggage did you use for your trip?
It looks like a Target suitcase for $89 - I’m going tomorrow to buy one
Trying to take all the packing notes! Taking just a backpack and carry on to Romania next month for 11 days!
Hi. i love ur bagpack. where did you purchase it? Thanks
Hi there, I was wondering what the suitcase brand is. It's not available on the link that you posted anymore. Probably because its been about a year. lol
if you can let me know about it, that would be great.
Great video! Super helpful! Can I ask where the earrings are from that you packed? 🥰
I am looking for a small electronic protector case. Could you share the link of yours, please. It looks just like I need it! Thank you, good video
I like how you packing your things
So, do you wear each outfit twice or do you do laundry on day seven?
Laundry 😉
This was cool how much you actually stuffed in but do they fit into the weight limit of 7kg? Seems like they would go way past the limit
