I’m kicking myself for not getting footage of this but I was packing progressively and just completely forgot to capture it. It did all fit in my case. (Except for the yellow sandals - as I explained in the video 😜)
I'd add to check the culture of where you are going. We went to Japan in the summer. Highs were something like 90s-102 degrees F (around 30 to 40 degrees C or so). Usually that would mean tank tops and shorts for me but Japan has a more conservative culture and dressing norms for women (and for men, too). Knees, shoulders, midrifts and clavicles are typically covered. Linen palazo pants, Athleta type hiking pants, and Uniqlo Airismtshirts and long skirts came in clutch. I wore one pair of shorts (not too short or loose) also worked.
I’m planning for a month long trip and this is so helpful Vee! Also happy to see lots of lulu gear as I tend to gravitate towards them for travel as well.
Very impressive!! I’ve got a trip to Sydney for my dad’s birthday and family catch ups, and then on to Melbourne for a bit of work and dinners with friends at the end of the Nov/early Dec. I want to pack light but I know I’ll end up taking more than I need…and do some shopping. 🤦🏻♀️ I wish Qantas would allow the carry-on plus size suitcase because that would be so much easier. Enjoyed your video. Bellroy is great, I must take another look at their site. Arket travel bags are also really good. 🥰
I hear you on the extra bits and bobs - it’s a struggle! But you can do it! The weather is on your side =) My carry-on expandable case has more capacity than the carry on plus, and the dimensions are acceptable as carry on baggage with Qantas - hence why I went with it :)
@ Actually my Delsey carry on is expandable as well 🤔. When you travel with a larger suitcase you just seem to fill it but I’m over traveling with a heavy suitcase. I am better than I used to be, I reduced my case size from a large to medium. Thank you for your confidence in me 😉 I’ll give it my best shot. 🥰
I should add that most, if not all, hotels in Japan would have coin washing machines within their building. Just a tip to anyone's going! Also, if you don't have your usual toiletries in travel-size versions (admittedly, they're also usually more expensive than their full-size counterparts), you can decant them into small travel bottles, pots, tubes, etc that you can get from Muji or Kmart then label them. I'll be going in February and for snowsports, so will not be able to travel with carry-on only, but I appreciate the tips so much! I'm really honing in on my outfit preparations and mix-and-match skills recently, so at least I would be able to carry a medium instead of a large suitcase! Vee, would you make a "What I would pack for a winter vacation" video? I know the principle would be the same, but would love to see your outfit ideas!
Great point about the laundry - Japan is SO convenient for everything. How exciting for you! If I go on a winter holiday - I will absolutely put one together!
Yes / no ! Coin laundry are available at business hotels not fancy hotels !! I highly recommend 'em,though !!( business hotels in Japan ,it's almost silly not to !! They're super clean/ affordable & come w lots of superb amenities usually !! ) 💜🥁🐉🎤🎶🇯🇵💕💞
We’ve been travelling to different places and our luggages always need to be check in. We change twice a day of our undies and change our clothes basically daily. I can’t imagine how our stuff will fit on a carry on for a 2 weeks vacation. We still have to pack our toiletries, medicines etc.
Vee, just curious why you elected to not take any denim jeans. Love your videos and think you are a riot! Can't wait to see how you style your new Loewe!
Good question! I initially had them on my list but ended up swapping them out as the weather wasn't calling for them. I didn't need them nor did I miss them - so it worked out well!
This is interesting !! Lol. I am Japanese who's originally from Tokyo, but been living in the States for decades, most of my life !! I've been living in Los Angeles for a real ling time . I do not miss my country ,but Japan is definitely one of the best countries to visit !!! Evrything is clean, super duper clean & the 1st class hospitality they give you even at cheap restaurants !! No tip needed !! Lol. Every dish tastes good there ! I highly recommend October to visit Japan !! Otherwise, Spring. Late March to early April to view cherry blossom 🌸 💜🥁🐉🎤🎶🇯🇵💕💞
I never weighed it! And the staff never weighed my bag. But I have no doubt it was more than 7kgs 😅 That said, I had a 10kg allowance when flying to Japan, so I’d check with your particular airline to confirm the carry on limit.
My mum and i will go carry on only to anchorage seward alaska for 8 nights. Then 7 night cruise to vancouver. 2 nights vancouver and 8 nights hawaii. We will only get tiny trinkets in alaska or 1 tshirt. I will book a checked bag from hawaii to Australia if we want to buy more. 😂
but don’t you have anything to buy back from Japan😂? There are many cute stuffs in Japan😅 i can pack light too but it’s the stuff that i am attracted to buy back home
Watching this video as motivation to unpack from my own holiday 😂
here's some added motivation... UNPACK YOUR SUITCASE 😅
Can you show us how you actually packed all of this into your bag please? You took a lot :)
Yes would love to see how it all fit and also how much it weighed?!

I really enjoy watching your videos, they're so informative and funny too. Love all the belroy and Lululemon gear you took 😍
Thank you so much for watching! 😍

Business hotels & capsule hotels come with laundry facilities in Japan.I highly recommend them.Fancy hotels do not have laundry facilities. 🇯🇵
good tip!

It’s definitely a skill to master - and a great way to travel lighter and more efficiently!
What a brilliant, information packed video. I think you are superwoman.
So glad it was helpful! And thank you! You’re too kind

You have a great style.
So glad you like it!
How much did your case weigh, packed, please. Travelling to Europe next year and hoping to do carry-on. 7kg limit is hard!
I never weighed it! And the staff never weighed my bag. But I have no doubt it was more than 7kgs 😅 That said, I had a 10kg allowance when flying to Japan, so I’d check with your particular airline to confirm the carry on limit.
I highly recommend nice outfits to visit Japan ,not too overly dressy ,but not too casual, either ! To blend in ! Lol. 💜🥁🐉🎤🎶🇯🇵💕💞
Yes! It’s such a fun balance to find 😊
