      I have not tried the larger lululemon hip pack. it is marketed at 2L but honestly looks like it could be slightly larger. i think the boxy look might be a little ridiculous looking as a hip pack, but Fjallraven makes a few hip packs that are even more boxy so I'd say go for it if you like the vibe. You can rock any style if you're confident 😉

    • @EmeraldsDailyCarry

      That is seriously cool. The only thing about this design is needing longer cables if you’re wall charging. I would also be worried about the outlet position. the brick looks like it comes out of the wall a ton and might not work for outlets behind beds or desks in hotels. But a great 2-in-1 solution for sure! GaN chargers and power banks have come such a long way in the last 3-5 years it’s incredible

    Air Asia has an extremely strict policy on weight - 7kg. Yes, they weigh before boarding. Is that realistically possible to travel that light?

    • @EmeraldsDailyCarry
      @EmeraldsDailyCarry  Месяц назад +2

      Oh yeah for sure. You will have to make some compromises. The heaviest things you travel with will be clothes and electronics (and toiletries if you have special routines). You will either need to do more laundry, bring less electronics, or get a lighter bag to help save weight.
      Try to wear your heaviest shoes and clothes on the flight. Layer up if you have to. Normally flights only check the weight prior to boarding so if you get hot, you can stuff your layers back in the bag after you board.
      My peak design 45L bag that I brought on a 3 week trip weighed 20lbs. 4 from the bag itself and another 4 for my laptop. So just changing the bag and bringing just my phone or an iPad would have put me under your weight limit of 7kg. I packed a week’s worth of clothes.

      Hi, I am 173cm and 60kg, or 5'7" and 135lbs. I'm not sure which bag you are referring to since I think there are shots of me with the Peak Design Travel 45L and the AS2OV 22L bag.
      Any 35L+ bag looks crazy big on me. Even 26L bags. I have a very short torso and long legs so having tall bags just accentuates this problem. I have not found any 35-45L bag that I've tried uncomfortable because of my height. But it does look like I am carrying an extra human on my back so there's that.

      @@C.u.d.s not sure I agree, typically flight attendants will leave a tray with water for self-serve in the aisle so it's easy to refill on water without asking an attendant. also I don't want to drink too much water on the plane anyway as it's annoying to go to the bathroom all the time. it's just not worth the space sacrifice to bring a bottle for the entire trip... ultimately you're talking about taking up valuable space in your luggage for something you may need for at most two days of your entire trip...
