Another great video. I started shooting with Blazer in my Marlin 925 Bolt action(7round magazine ). I still use it when available , but CCI is my go to cartridge , in mini mag, stinger, quiet, and SV. Local gun store has been out of stock, but I just ordered directly from CCI online. Hopefully the shortage will gradually adjust itself. Shocking to read about hijacking of Aguila 22 ammo in Mexico to further screw up the supply line. Thanks
Thank you Gary for the kind comments. I had not heard about the Aguila hack. I haven't ordered ammo online as I live in CA and it has to be shipped to an FFL, so what you save online you pay to the FFL!!!! I hope and can't wait for things to get back to normal. Right now while ammo is crazy expensive some stores are really off the charts with their prices.
I just shot some Blazer and also CCI MiniMag Target at 50 meters. That is why I searched and found your video. Apart from the MiniMag being copper plated, I don't see any difference between the two rounds. I think it is exactly the same, in different packaging for marketing purposes.
Unless the Mini Mags are made under tighter QC conditions, on paper the Blazer and the 40 grain CPRN Mini Mag are identical. They use the same bullet shape, only difference being the Blazer is wax coated only and the Mini Mags are copper coated.
In an lcr 2 22lr the mini mags function much for reliability. Maybe it’s the primer compound or QC. But they feed nicely, just a gotta duds with the blazers for me
Idk much about 22, curious do they have to be soft tipped to work? I assume so since they all are but can someone tell me why they can't make them stronger? I just got a TX22 competition which is alot of fun, all iv tried so far was the mini mags 36 grain copper plated, seemed decent but still had some get caught up and bend
I am not sure what you are asking but, as far as I know most all 22lr rounds are soft lead, round nose or hollow point. Some are lead with copper plating. They do make a non-lead 22lr which is made of Copper. It is ok just not accurate at longer distances. Round nose will usually feed better in most semiautomatics .
@@ATS357 that's great, still looking myself. Is it the hollow point 38g? Last 22 I bought was in July, Armscor 22 HP ones 50pk. Maybe I'll see you trying them out next week.
I have not seen anything that won’t run the mini mags. Maybe the copper just feeds better. My GSG will run most all 40gr round nose. The lighter hollow points can be an issue. In my opinion shooting hollow points out of a pistol are useless anyway. Out of a pistol there is not enough velocity to open the hollow point. Now a rifle is another story.
Really? I got to say I have never heard of anything that would not run Mini Mags. I am not saying that you are not telling the truth, but with some guns that is all they will run.
Your video is informative and to the point. I appreciate that. Thank you.
Thank you and thanks for watching!

I also believe the only difference is the copper plating, same exact round otherwise

Yes I believe you are correct!

You just can't beat the CCI Mini Mags for reliability.
Thank you for your comment.
So you are saying the cci blazers didn’t work but the mini mags did
@@zodaguado6655 my lcr2 turned out to be a nightmare, sent back to ruger
@@zodaguado6655 yes, lcp2 seems to be picky. Blazers have worked 100% in all my other guns

Be great to find a bucket of Blazer 22lr, the 1500pk. I'd spend a day with my Ruger. Until next time, ever try the AR Tactical by CCI?
Finding a 1500pk would be great!
No I have not tried the AR CCI.
Just scored another 500 round Brick of CCI Blazer 22. this time it was $52

@@lawrencehawk5179 No it is the 40 gr. round nose just like I had in my video.
@@ATS357 been a while since I saw a 500ok of any kind. Mostly 50rds. Ot even them bulk 800 or a 1000. Them Federal Reds look fun, in a 525pk.
I only run mini mags, for some reason blazer wont feed right on my keltec cp33

Did both leave the bore lead free? Or did the Blazer leave a gift? 🤔
The Blazer has a coating on it. Unlike some I clean the rife or hand gun Every time I use them, so not to worried about what it leaves behind.
I believe they are identical ex. Copper
You look like Roy Scheider
Interesting! someone else just said that a couple days ago :)
Sheriff Brody.🦈
Wow, 1235ft/sec from a 17" barrel.
That would probably mean close to 1400 from a 24" bolt action.
Nope my mistake.
The barrel length of diminishing return is 20" for 22LR.
The extra velocity would not get the 40gr to 1400ft/s
Mini Mac sucks in my savage f64
