- CZ457 LRP - CCI Blazer - Ammo test - 50 Yards
In this video I will test CCI Blazer , 22 long rifle rimfire ammunition to see how well this ammo performs in my CZ 457 LRP. I have installed a flat blade Timney CZ 457 precision Trigger.
The test will be compressed of 40 shots in total all fired from the prone at 50 yards. I will be recording shot data including (SD, ES, Highest, and lowest velocities, as well as the average velocity) of the ammunition tested. every test begins with 20 fouling shots from a clean barrel bore, followed by 4 - 5 shot groups
Hope you enjoy the testing and DON'T FORGET TO SUBSCRIBE! , COMMENT, AND LIKE! the video.
There will be new videos releasing every Sunday morning at 9 am!
The 40gr Blazer has been my favorite "cheap" ammo for years. Has performed well in all my .22s. I have also found, you can really tighten up the groups if you sort it by rim thickness. The sorted rounds will be more consistent, and you'll weed out almost all the "flyers".
since you said you shoot it a lot, i have a question, do you ever get any dud rounds with the blazer?
@@yourmomma2995 Of the several thousand rounds that I have shot, not enough to remember. 99% of misfires I've had, from any ammo, usually showed signs of a light strike, for whatever reason. I have a hard time blaming the gun, or the ammo, because 99% of the time, I rechamber the round and it goes bang.
I got the same result as you with this ammo using my factory 10/22 the other day. Some groups were awesome and others looked like I was patterning a shotgun! Good ammo for plinking and gophers/squirrels
Ya I still like subsonic ammo just keep it a bit quieter
i used to like Blazer for my semi when it was dirt cheap, not so much anymore.. thx for the video. cheers...
No problem Nelson
I have found more consistant performance with Aguila 40gr RNL SV than with CCI lately. Perhaps their QC has become lazy?
Kudos for trying it. I gave up on American Rimfire ammo years ago.
I will try it all if I can get it
I like blazers but I'm not a target expert, they are dependable I just bought a case of 5000 and I have an older brick of 500
Shot a half inch group at 50 yards with my bergara, with blazer, couldn't believe what I saw. It runs great in my glock 44.
I get the odd great group also but it’s basically a fluke and had to duplicate
It pretty much had a mind of it's own.
Yes definitely not laser guided ha ha
To tell you the truth that is the best I have ever seen with this ammo I just don't know what CcI had in mind for this ammo not good for target and not good for hunting?🤔
Like all .22's, some rifles prefer a certain brand, certain velocity. Apparently this rifle/barrel combination does not prefer Blazer 40gr RNL. I had 2 Marlin model 25s. One preferred CCI SV, the other preferred Aguila SV...guess that is what makes .22s so much fun...trying to figure out what ammo gives best performance. Thank you for sharing this video.
Thanks for watching and reaching out I enjoy talking with you guys
Getting some good velocity I guess that's why it's called Blazer. I know it is what I prefer to shoot in my Sig P322 it cycles and easy to stack in the magazines and main thing it doesn't foul the barrel like Mini Mags. For a pistol accuracy is just fine and might be subsonic I do shoot the Sig with a YHM Mite most of the time attached. I can buy it for 39.99 a brick at my local gun shop for some reason Wal Mart doesn't stock it around here. I might send some through my Savage shorty and see what it does.
Ya that’s not a bad price and why not try it in all your rimfires it may surprise you
Cant control the weather and cant always control our schedules, but would of been nice to see the test on a day without the winds
Ya I know maybe a redo is warranted for this one
@@BROTUNED
I would definitely like to see your video if you redo it. I just bought 5,000 rounds of that CCI Blazer 40gn .22lr. Was 310.00 and free shipping at SG Ammo website. I'm not able to test the ammo at 50 yards or more since I only have 100 feet in my back yard for open shooting and then the rest is several hundred feet of woods
@tymz-r-achangin I’ll definitely do it when I get perfect conditions stay tuned
Well this was pretty eratic especially at the beginning for only 50 yards!
What would be your first recommendedation for a budget subsonic AND hypersonic round to get ? (One of each)
_Weather is always nicer in Ontario hey! 😅🇨🇦_
In the stock rifle I would get sk for both to be honest
@@BROTUNED In any rifle or for this one specifically?
In my cz if you’re looking for any rifle my rule is look at price and availability. I would start with the cheapest and maybe your rifle will love it and that would be awesome because you can shoot more for less. But odds are it’ll be a $9 to $15 box that shoots very good then it’s up to you to decide if .25 moa is worth double the price. I’m very happy with 1 moa and my cz can do that with almost any ammo but less is better of ct
*Course
That's why I leave Blazer .22s on the shelf.
Ha ha yup
If Blazer could just tighten up the specs it would be worth it.
Then the Brice would quadruple
Good 25yd ammo mate lol
Agreed
Nope not so much 👍👍
ES was not so good.

That ammo is no good for anything I wouldn't put my rifles through that. That is par for the course for cci. Your bud
Beagleman
Lol cheers buddy!
