For years, right after eating some foods, i have itchy skin and pimples (urticaria). It lasts an hour, and disappears. I figured out these food were high in histamine and i could have histamine intolerance. Then i figured out histamine intolerance is caused by low Diamine Oxidase blood level. Then i figured out low DAO blood level is caused by vitamin C deficiency... and i almost dont eat any fruits or vegetables. I just bought vitamin C supplements, i freak out to have scurvy soon.
I wish I had seen this video earlier - I increased my vit C intake from 1g to 4g daily, using absorbable forms of the vitamin (liposomal) and my experience is a drop of ~ 75% in itching. I suffer from polycythaemia and itching has always been a big issue for me, affecting my lifestyle, since I react severely to temperature changes and contact with water.
my daughter also has those two problems that you just mentioned that she gets really itchy when the temperature changes especially in the hot sun and when she goes in the pool or the shower. by any chance do you have any food sensitivities, eczema or allergic to mold?
When you started to take megadoses of vitamin C did you have frequent runs to the bathroom? I only take 1000 mg but anything higher results in diarrhea.
I'll try the tips in this video this coming winter. Having suffered from seasonal allergies in recent years that start up in late November and last until the end of March, most likely due to pollen from various conifers, I'm tired of the low-level bronchial irritation and dry cough that goes on week after week.
I moved from Arizona to Oregon and have seasonal allergies as well. I stopped taking medication and just allowed my body to fight it but some days are terrible! I just stumbled across quercetin a few weeks ago and let me tell you, it's a blessing! I take it with Brolemide to assist with absorption but vitamin c works as well. I take it once a day and have been doing well!

Thank you for your feedback. You're right; it's important to address potential contraindications when discussing supplements like quercetin. Hello Dr. Brown, I've been allergic to laundry soaps for about 10 years now. I've researched most, and even the hypo allergenic brands have mold inhibitors and brighteners which seem to be the culprits. If I get near anyone who uses these laundry brands (which there are many) I feel like I'm going insane with itching, like little ants are on me plus my eyes and nose. It is horrifically hard on me and I rarely have anyone over. I have to wash and rewash new cloths to get the chemicals out and the only thing that works to reduce the little bur chemicals on things is to vacuum and us glass cleaner (must be the ammonia?) I also use baking soda and vinegar-- I have to let things soak for about a week... then wash at least 3 times in the washer (3 x 3 cycles) -- I've even warned people but they don't care, it doesn't affect them. Also, about 2 years ago I drank some bottled water and since then I've had problems with my joints and bones... Whenever I eat I get crepitus (bone snapping and popping) all over with all my bones feeling like bone splints. It has something to do with digestion as it goes away if I don't eat. My doctor couldn't figure out so recently I changed Dr's but now I can't get tests do (understandably) to the Covid-19 outbreak. I started thinking I may have vitamin deficiencies and when I found this video. I checked, my D is low which my last Dr. never said a word about -- I also didn't have a test for C but Folate was high. Component Your Value Standard Range VITAMIND, 25 HYDROXY 23.0 ng/mL 30.0 - 100.0 ng/mL = Low FOLATE 8.7 ng/mL = High Normal range >5.4 ng/mL Have you ever heard of my symptoms before and do you think Vit c with Quercetin would help me? Thank you :)
take some megaload of vitamin c. and... enough salt and good amount of protein. vitamin C will likely remove a lot of toxins in your body. vitamin D will help out as well. many allergies go way when you fix your deficiencies. vitamin C will help in reducing inflammation and toxins in your body
@@hytf8849 Thank you, I just read this... sorry, it got lost in the shuffle... I love this doctor, she's so unique as most doctors cannot relate to allergies... some look at me like I'm crazy... As I've learned more about this issue of mine I find that the chemicals that cause this in me are so awful for us, I have also started taking quercetin 500 mg a day... it does seem to help but what would really help is if people would just become aware of these chemicals in our products and stop using them!
T, Quercetin is extensively found in all types of tasty red, green, and purple-pigmented plants, for example, red wine, blueberries, apples, red onion, and even green tea are some of the best sources of quercetin. Beans are probably not your best source for quercetin. The most absorbable form of Quercetin, quercetin dihydrate, is in our Relieve+Repair. It is a yellow- green flavonoid from the sacred Saphora Japonica tree that helps reduce allergic and inflammatory responses by promoting repair and stabilizing delicate cell membranes.
Most people notice relatively quickly. It should be taken with the Alkalini-C L- Ascorbate powder for maximum benefit as it provides both the flavonoid /Flavanol component. If it does not work for you I would up the dose to 2-3 x's per day. You may be working in a deficit.
Hey Dr Brown, I've heard that Quercetin can be bad for thyroid because it stops the absorption of iodine, but Ive also heard that Quercetin Dehydrate is a better safer form, what do you think about possible effects on thyroid?
I was waiting for the plug of a product, thanks for the information I’ve been trying to find an alternative way to deal with my allergies as there mild and the side effects of drugs to treat allergies are not worth it.
I have restless leg syndrome and I have read that antistimines such as benadryl can cause flare ups. Would Quercetin cause the same? I have been taking Quecertin during my covid and had really terrible restless legs.
Elaine - I've never heard such a thing happening. I would add magnesium for that restless leg. However, whenever someone suspects a supplement is bothering them, we suggest avoiding it for a few days to see if it will correct itself.
Cheers for the video content! Sorry for butting in, I would love your opinion. Have you ever tried - Biyarter Essential Breakthrough (google it)? Thanks for your question! When combining supplements like quercetin with medications, caution is key. Quercetin may lower blood pressure, possibly enhancing the effects of blood pressure meds and leading to low blood pressure. It might also interact with prednisone, although research is limited. It's essential for your mom to consult her doctor before adding quercetin to her routine to ensure it's safe with her current medications.
Many of my patients find eliminating processed and packaged foods helps because many preservatives include corn and other allergens that cause hives. Try something like a pork chop and fried egg in butter, no bun, and black coffee... or test to see if fasting for a day or two helps.

Component Your Value Standard Range
VITAMIND, 25 HYDROXY 23.0 ng/mL
30.0 - 100.0 ng/mL = Low
FOLATE 8.7 ng/mL = High
Normal range >5.4 ng/mL
Have you ever heard of my symptoms before and do you think Vit c with Quercetin would help me?
Thank you :)
Quercetin and vitamin C plus D will help u
Lisa i can understand ur problem, i am mrs suman telkur want to talk to u on this issue
take some megaload of vitamin c. and... enough salt and good amount of protein. vitamin C will likely remove a lot of toxins in your body. vitamin D will help out as well.
many allergies go way when you fix your deficiencies. vitamin C will help in reducing inflammation and toxins in your body

Does it matter the source of the quercetin.. I know many are sourced from beans which are high histamine
It is a yellow- green flavonoid from the sacred Saphora Japonica tree that helps reduce allergic and
inflammatory responses by promoting repair and stabilizing delicate cell membranes.
Hello Dr.Brown,
I have a quick question for you. How long will take after starting taking quercetin to notice any difference in allergies?
Most people notice relatively quickly. It should be taken with the Alkalini-C L- Ascorbate powder for maximum benefit as it provides both the flavonoid /Flavanol component. If it does not work for you I would up the dose to 2-3 x's per day. You may be working in a deficit.
Thank you for your information.
You're welcome!
Thank you for this very informative topic.
You are very welcome!
Hey Dr Brown, I've heard that Quercetin can be bad for thyroid because it stops the absorption of iodine, but Ive also heard that Quercetin Dehydrate is a better safer form, what do you think about possible effects on thyroid?
An answer would have been nice.
Its a lie
Unreal …. Why not answer the viewer of your channel they took the time to watch perhaps a reply would be nice

I was waiting for the plug of a product, thanks for the information I’ve been trying to find an alternative way to deal with my allergies as there mild and the side effects of drugs to treat allergies are not worth it.
We wish you well and hope you breeze through this allergy season!
Hi Dr Brown, my 10 year old has been allergic to wheat ,dairy, soya, egg, avocado , tomato, so the items you have mentioned , would they help my son?

It is a great one of a kind guide for eliminating your eczema minus the normal expense. Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my mate finally got amazing success with it.
Thanks Gretchen for the info. We will look at your suggestion. Have not seen this product before.
Quercetin makes asthma worse. Anti-histamines INCREASE histamine production after being taken for a couple of days.
made me dizzy and pins and needles
@@eaglez9518 Too bad that you also have problems with it. I found out more recently that Quercetin is also high in salicylates, which can be a problem for some people. You always have to be careful when you try something new.
I take Synthroid, my thyroid was removed many years ago. So, I read that I can't take Quercetin.
Quercetin is good, I also look for it on the ingredients list when I chose a vision revival supplement to take :)

Yes, this is safe for children over 12. We recommend starting with 1 a day
My dog itches. Shot last just a short while. He does not have insect infestation.
I did some research and see that Querectin is used in to help with itching/allergic reaction.
We started using a mixture of Colostrum, Probiotic, Quercetin Dyhydrate, Vitamin C and Salmon Oil.
The dog is an 85lb Labrador Retriever age 4.
Purchasing a Vet Product for Allergies is extremely expensive. So we want to try adjusting his diet to correct the allergies.
Your information states that you personally take 1000mg 3 to 4 plus Vitimin C.
He also gets Colostrum, and Probiotics, × 2 Daily.
What do you think.
Well, that sounds interesting. We don't know much about treating pets but there are many great benefits to Quercetin Dehydrate that I'm sure could help your dog. It definitely helps humans with high histamine and allergies.

I have a question. My mom takes high blood pressure medicine and arthritis medicine(prednisone, etc). Are quercetine and those interfering each other?
Thanks for your question! When combining supplements like quercetin with medications, caution is key. Quercetin may lower blood pressure, possibly enhancing the effects of blood pressure meds and leading to low blood pressure. It might also interact with prednisone, although research is limited. It's essential for your mom to consult her doctor before adding quercetin to her routine to ensure it's safe with her current medications.
If you want it active in the digestive system, then you might not want it absorbed.
Thanks! I took it two hours ago and feel great
It can fight Covid 19!
Is this Quercetin and vit C also good for urticaria?
Hi Jackson, Dr. Brown answers your question in her Q+A video here at 14:27 - facebook.com/betterbonesbetterbody/videos/924080094592736/
Many of my patients find eliminating processed and packaged foods helps because many preservatives include corn and other allergens that cause hives. Try something like a pork chop and fried egg in butter, no bun, and black coffee... or test to see if fasting for a day or two helps.
good information
Thank you!

Hi Kristi, the drug Loratadine interacts with 74 other medications: bit.ly/2Hyl7cK. If you're not using any other medications it should be fine to use with our quercetin. We are only talking about quercetin dihydrate, no other form of quercetin. You can refer again to Dr. Russell Jaffe talking about the safety of quercetin dihydrate: bit.ly/2TsIlD9

Dr Susan it is OK to supplement quercetin for the rest of the life, there is none side effects?
Hello Vitor! Excellent question. While quercetin is a relatively safe supplement, there is not much research on the long-term use of the supplement.
If we take a medication that create the problem but,we can not stop it,what can we do?
Is any interaction of taking the medication and also what your recomandation?
Thank you
Hello! We do not recommend stopping your medication unless advised to do so by a trusted medical professional. Our Relieve + Repair and Alkalini-C typically do not interact with other medications. They should be safe to use along with your regular medication.
