With Trump, it’s never about his innocence… It’s only about attacking people who hold him accountable
If Merchan is "compromised" by his daughter then Thomas is compromised by his wife, since Thomas has not recused himself from any case and Republicans aren't asking, then Merchan is fine.
The difference is that the whole thing about Thomas' wife is just some TDS fueled fever dream that has no basis in reality.
Merchan's daughter is a product of her upbringing, it is not that Lauren compromises Juan but that Juan tainted his daughter years ago.

It's like putting the daughter of a judge up for trial to which that judge is officiating over. See the conflict of interest there? This is a case where if Trump loses, the judge's daughter gets money, if Trump wins the daughter loses money. Try being an impartial judge if you control the fate of your daughter's wealth in a case by which she gains from him losing. It's like being an umpire for a baseball game in which your daughter is betting on a particular team to lose in that game. Do you think an umpire is going to make a fair choice for the game if her daughter can win from a team losing?

If this was considered a conflict of intrest then Supreme Judge Thomas needs to be replaced.
Absolutely! He has participated in pay off supposed actions on numerous occasions.

He just doesn't get it. There will never be a 'fair trial' in his eyes if it's not a rigged trial in his favor. A defendant doesn't just get to decide and complain and whine about a judge overseeing his trial, if the trial doesn't go well that's what the appeals court is for. But he ALSO has to have made a significant effort to try to prove his innocent with EVIDENCE and FACTS, but in NONE of his trials does Trump ever actually do that. He always complains, and whines, moans about how it's 'unfair', how everyone is out to get him, how horrible everyone is, how terrific and perfect he is, but never ONCE actually arguing on merit. This is how he thinks he 'wins' court cases and he should not be allowed to pull these kinds of stunts like any other common criminal.
Speaking of which, election is the same thing. If he wins it was fair and square (although he is a known rigger) and if he loses it was "stolen"

In asking for briefs about how to instruct the jury on hypotheticals that will inevitably prejudice them toward an acquittal, how is Judge Cannon not trying to tamper with the jury? She needs to be removed from this case because it is overly apparent that SHE is prejudiced. She has shown that she has a stake in the outcome of the trial, and so has a clear conflict of interest.
It's really sad that when it all comes down to the wire..the deciding factor over whether or not we all see Justice it's based on which judge is the least inept.

@LoriTalbot-du2qt..There are only two reasons so far that I can think of: Trump can't be convicted for jail time: Might be there are many on both sides who have also done things that could land them in prison, so they want to set a precedence that there can't be any jail time for current/present/future President. Also, would Biden have a chance of anyone else that might run for the Presidency? If it would have been anyone they would have been in jail a long time ago.
