The moderator needs to have a mute button to keep the debate going and to keep it become a joke.
A high school debate was more logical and orderly then last time.
They have been saying that is the plan, to mute the candidate when their time is up. That is also one of the reasons for not having an audience.
Unless there are scrupulously determined moderators, this circus is likely to be as much of a genuine debate as Mein Kampf was a book about inclusion. I nominate Anderson Cooper, Christiane Amanpour, and, for balance, Ana Navarro.

The 2024 Presidential debate will be a "grand mess" because of Trump. Hopefully, President Biden gets his way for the CNN debate: the microphones cut off after each answers the Moderator's question. No audience will disallow any heckling.
I am looking forward to the debates; not that it will change the MAGA fever in some of the electorate.
I think the microphone cut-off switch is perfect. Also, an audience is a waste of time. We need to hear clear, concise answers without the performance for a crowd.

It would appear that after Joe agreed to the debate she is already beginning to put conditions on the debating procedures. Fortunately, because CNN is going to be moderating the debate. Joe will have the opportunity to see the questions prior to the debate in order to formulate rational answers.

And when they were convicted of seditious conspiracy, he called them ''hostages'', and said he would consider pardoning them if elected. i want to see these moderators push back more, like during one of the 2016 debates when trump was squawking about how as president, he'd only allow products made in America, and i was so hoping Lester Holt would ask him to square that with all of his stuff that was manufactured in China. If they are going to have a televised debate, the moderators and producers should be able to show clips of what was actually said in their 2020 debate, to force both candidates to explain lies, or deficiencies in their past promises.

Trump talking to MSNBC's Chris Matthews for a pre-taped town hall in Wisconsin
Matthews repeatedly pressed Trump on his anti-abortion views and asked if women should be criminally punished if abortion were outlawed in the US.
Trump hedged at first: "Well, people in certain parts of the Republican Party, and conservative Republicans, would say, ‘Yes, it should be punished.'"
Matthews pressed again:
"The answer is there has to be some form of punishment," Trump said.
"For the woman?" Matthews said.
Trump said, "Yes," and nodded.
"What about the guy that gets her pregnant?" Matthews asked.
Matthews: "Is he responsible under the law for these abortions? Or is he not responsible for an abortion decision?"
Trump stumbled a bit, then settled on: "I would say no."
Trump, who has been vocal about his readiness to debate Biden, responded to the proposal on Truth Social Wednesday morning, saying, "It’s time for a debate so that he can explain to the American People his highly destructive Open Border Policy. However, the Biden proposal includes some significant guardrails for the gaffe-prone president. These include no audience, no interruptions from Trump while Biden is speaking, and only Biden-friendly news outlets can moderate (CBS, ABC, CNN, or Telemundo). I guess Biden likes his debates just as he likes his courtroom judges!
Did he mention that Moscow Mike was the one who rejected the Republican border bill at Trumps's request?
Well the only pro-trump network is FOX and if you've watched it you can see the number of false references and misinformation each episode. Of course they never televise trumps actual speeches opting to focus on Biden, Biden, Biden. Wonder why that is... anyway I digress. No interruptions is part of any well run debate, assertions must be proved citing references and many other protocol rules of debate need to be followed. No audience makes sense because the message is then lost in the performance. I find both people a little gaffe-prone and look forward to complete sentences that actually answer the question posited. I fear that won't be the case. The producers never follow the rules of debate opting instead for a useless public spectacle. It's embarrassing for me when other countries watch them and think we don't know how to behave in adult society.

I agree that a September date is probably a good idea, but not June. Trump's dementia is visibly accelerating, and the longer Biden waits to confront him in a very public format, the better. Speaking as an outsider to the US, it's hard not to see how appalling another term of office for Trump would be and that Biden would most certainly be the safer bet. However are these two really the best that the most powerful country in the world has to offer? It astounds me that a political system can be so broken that the electoral process throws up these two as the prime candidates for the office of President where presumably sharpness and critical thinking are top requisites for the role. Both candidates are clearly showing signs of age and mental decline and would struggle to see out a full term of office without the 25th amendment being brought into play.

The lucky thing about electric cars is that it gives jobs to little kids in foreign nations. Maybe that could be the next protest for the crazed left. At work we have two Big rig trucks that are electric. It has a 100 miles it can go before it runs out of juice. Had to be towed back to the warehouse twice already from a gas powered tow truck. @@bethanyhealy4989 The technology is improving every day. The batteries will be much better suited to longer mileage in the future. Right now, depending on your vehicle, it cost about 15-20 dollars to charge your battery, and some can go 300 miles, which is cheaper than gas. Electric cars are not going away, so we are going to need more charging stations. Maybe not now, but very soon. No, I don't have an apple phone.

Turns out thats what happaned when Biden was elected. Here we have Iran bombing Israel and Iran faces no backfire from us. Because Iran is not dumb, they know that President Biden isnt going to respond with force like Trump would, and they knew they could just send missiles to one of our closest allies.
