Very nice video.. I was looking for a way to make the little "lava beads" to put in hollow cages for my projects... Seems these may dissolve a little faster also than I would like. Wouldn't be able to make round balls from this probably either.. Any ideas? thanks so much.
Hi there! I never was alerted to your question by youtube, I am so sorry. I would think these would disintegrate if used in a more permanent jewelry situation. If you wish to make a lava bead, I have no idea which material would be porous enough while still be molded and can stay sturdy enough to be in a cage of some sort-other than a real lava bead. You might want to look at jewelry concrete or silicone putty? Both are used by jewelry crafters? I hope that helps. Sorry for the LATE response. Be safe, and be well!
Oh gosh, I never was alerted to your question. I am so sorry I never wrote back. Yes, I would imagine you can file the edges very delicately. Good luck and stay well!
I use each a few times, but with the same oils. But they will eventually disintegrate the more oil you put on them. I keep the unused ones in a ziploc bag in a safe place and they have lasted a year for me! (As long as things are dry and they aren't knocked around a lot). I use them in my car, or even stealthily in business meetings to help the juju. Stay well! Thanks for stopping by!

Can these handle light filing (like with sandpaper) to smooth out the rough edge/bottom?
Yes, very lightly, I am sure you can do it.
