🎯 Key points for quick navigation:
00:03 *Introduction to installing a single adjustable coilover kit and rear shocks on a 1966 Mustang.*
00:21 *Start by removing the front wheel and inner panel; this includes removing eight bolts.*
00:56 *Loosen lower shock nuts to remove shocks, applying pressure to the lower control arm for safety.*
01:27 *Use an internal coil spring compressor to safely remove the coil spring.*
02:12 *Inspect the upper control arm for damage before installing new coilover brackets.*
02:53 *Drill holes for upper brackets; ensure the factory brace remains in position for correct alignment.*
03:37 *Use flat washers to prevent distortion when tightening bolts against the frame.*
04:42 *Install coilover shock from the bottom up, ensuring spacers are in place for proper fit.*
05:12 *Start shock rebound adjustment from fully counterclockwise to three clicks clockwise as a baseline.*
06:12 *Torque upper and lower hardware to specified foot-pounds for secure installation.*
06:54 *Adjust ride height using a spanner wrench after assembly, then finalize after a test drive.*
07:23 *Begin installation of rear shocks by accessing upper hardware from the trunk.*
08:06 *Use clevises for top and bottom installation, and orient washers correctly for proper fit.*
09:21 *Adjust rear shocks similarly, starting from full counterclockwise and fine-tuning based on driving experience.*

Nice work ! Why is there no spring ( coil over ) on the rear shock ?

The rear has leaf springs to support the car. To install a coil over rear suspension a 4 link conversion would have to be installed. A 4 link conversion can be an invasive installation requiring modifying the structure of the car.

Is there any reason this could not be used on a 66 3.3L Mustang?

Our kits will also work on any Mustang 1965-1973

Do you guys offer any spring rates below 450? Im looking to upgrade the suspension on my straight six and i dont need super stiff coilovers and shocks like these, and the lowest i could find on your site was 450lb?

For our Mustang and Early Ford Muscle Car kits, we can go lighter on the spring rates. Please give our team a call and we can help you with part numbers. (310)834-7478

Hi ! How I you know what size / length and weight rated (front shock) to use on the vehicle That I have ? (64 TBird-390 V8)

1964 T-bird with a 390 we would use Aldan American Kit # 300197 (1963-66) coil over kit. This kit is designed to bolt on and allow the ride height to be adjusted from stock height to 2” of lowering.
