For me “period correct” style looks so much better than all the fast & furious restomod stuff. It’s also timeless. Gorgeous car.

My mentality fluctuates based on what sort of condition the starter car was in. If everything is still in great condition, and it's all original, yeah don't mess with it too much. But if the car you're starting with is a rusted out husk that hardly resembles a car anymore, go nuts. Anything you would do to it at that point would improve it. Plan on buying a 60s continental eventual and restoring it with batteries and electric motors. Would perfectly suit the character of the car and make it fast as hell.

This is a car you could see placed in a F&F movie. I wouldn't be so quick to hate on it. They have a wide variety of stuff all throughout their films. But either way, beautiful beautiful car
I had a 66 Hertz Shelby with the original top loader and hipo 289 with the original Cobra intake and Ford four barrel. Unfortunately I had to sell it in 1994 for only 12,000 due to my Wife getting pregnant with my first Daughter, It was all re-done with black paint and gold stripes( spent over 12,000). I loved that car like you cant believe. My Daughters that are now in their mid 20's said they would look for it and buy it for me, but I told them (one)they would not be able to find it(two) if they do find it the owner will not sell(three) he will want a lot for it. They said they don't care and Till this day they are looking for it...This car reminds me of my little 66 Shelby Hertz what an awesome built.
My heart goes out to you brother. I sold my first car, 64.5 coupe, when my son was born. I finally got an 05 gt when I turned 50, great wife pushed for it. I’m better now, midlife crisis… not even a consideration 😇

Freind had a black/gold one late 80s he dailied back then. Dig them 1st gen stangs

I just bought a 65 with the 200 i6 and 3 speed manual .. Needs work, but is drivable, after I get the brakes done this week.

im a big fan of the old school mustangs, but my absolute favorite is the 65 fast back. they really got it right.

Inspired. I have a '65 T-code fastback just about to go under the knife; V8 (302), Holley EFI, T5, 3.55 but keeping it old school. Can't wait to get it done!

if I "drove the wheels off," I'd get some new aluminum ones instead of black.
I was always going to build a 1965-66 fastback Mustang. I even bought some Mini Lite wheels and tons of magazines and books.
The Avis rental car company had some 1965-66 Ford Mustang fastbacks made up for their rental fleet back then.
They were the 271hp 289ci V8 with a C-4 automatic and they were Black with a gold strip down the center of the car.
That is one badass Mustang. Love everything about it. Original paint and all. Sounds just so nice. Look forward to seeing more. Be safe and stay well.

I own a 2020 GT 350 myself, but there is absolutely nothing like a 65. Flashback Mustang! As far as I’m Concerned, that’s the most beautiful card that has ever been created, and what you did to this 65, turned it into an absolute dreamboat! Congratulations, my friend! You have got probably one of the most beautiful Mustang I’ve ever seen, and she truly has a heart and soul! You’re one lucky individual and congratulations my friend! Love from North Carolina!!!❤🫵👊😁

That’s my kind of car right there. Love it, and the 600 miles is just getting it shaken down. Love the choices in power and trans as well as about everything else. What a great driver/fun car
I have to say that is one of the sickest mustangs I have ever seen ! I am a mustang guy through and through, I have had 3 mustang gt's in my life and they are the best looking and sounding cars ever. You have a beautiful car have fun with it. Looking forward to seeing another video with that bad boy.

Fantastic car, just love it. Real tires, no chrome dubs...just perfect.
Had a primer gray 302 powered'66 coupe back in the '80s that I still miss. Had fender flares, the same Shelby front valance, etc.
The smiles per mile looked super high on this one Shaun, even on the second drive...that says it all right there!

Wow that is stunning. If it was a 67 it would be my dream car. I will own a 67 mustang one day but I would put an LS in it as it would be so reliable. I have been wanting a 67 mustang since I was a teenager. My dream is to buy one in California drive it down route 66 and ship it to England and then get building.

love this build. the wheel/tire combo is perfect, nailed it! i think it would look cool with a white stripe, like the 350r.
to me the wheel/tire/stance make any car and this is spot on.

I understand the color hunt regarding replicating the original magnesium torq thrust! You almost almost had it! The color looks spot on BUT it needs to be absolutely matte with no gloss!!!

Can you let ryan know that an air filter with side draft intake only, is actually is better than a filter with side draft intake and top down intake as the two air paths fight and contradict each other at low to midrange rpm, and throttle response and air/fuel atomization is better with the side draft only air filter....

Fuel inject it and it’s perfect. The exhaust note gave me goosebumps, especially when Ryan rowed the gears. Nicely done.

@@AutotopiaLA A while back, there was a GT40 kit car. Seemed real clean for what it was and nicely moded. Turned out that the whole video was a 13 or so minute advertisement for a used kit car. So I guess this is a cool used car advertisement channel is and I lost interest.
That ammo box speaker is awesome gonna have to look into one for my truck I also don't want to take out the stock radio

I think Ryan's build to somewhat emulate a 350R, but without the typical paint scheme is a a refreshing touch...looks badass all Black

Perfect build.
A 3/4" taller tire on the rear would keep him out of the rev limiter as quick in the lower gears, and add circumference for traction and comfort. The width part is obvious, but he can detail his final gearing with tire height and benefit greatly, and more cost effective, than messing with gears.

I absolutely love this awesome car. One thing Ryan said that I slightly disagree with is the SMB sound vs a Coyote. I've owned a 5.0 SMF Fox body. I think it sounds very much like my current 4.6 2v, 4.6 3v and 2012 Coyote Mustangs. Some how Ford kept that distinct sound until the Flat Crank.
