1965 Mustang CPP Suspension Kit Review

- These are my impressions after installing the CPP Suspension kit on my 1965 Mustang. I knew I needed to completely rebuild by front suspension so I started with the steering and then moved to the suspension. I'm not a big fan of the stock suspension, it's based on the lowly Falcon and it leaves a lot to be desired. The strut rod is a cheap way to locate the lower control arm. When you look for alternatives to the strut rod there are Mustang II kits but they require a lot of work and welding. There is apparently a MacPherson strut style option but that didn't interest me either. That left the CPP with upper and lower tubular A-arms. It's based on their Nova kit, which makes sense as the Nova and Falcon share the same style of suspension. They have multiple tiers of kits, from the lower A-arms only all the way to this kit which included all four Viking double adjustable shocks.
This is not intended as a step by step installation but rather an overview and some impressions.

Great review! We appreciate the kind words and we are glad everything went together smoothly for you. Have fun out there!
Interesting need to look this up
Thank you for the video. Heade dthis direction too
Hey, you got the video done! Looks awesome! What were the final settings achieved at alignment?
I used the Opentracker race specs and they were able to get them.
2.5 caster and 1.5 camber
I bought the Viking coil overs for my 65. Do you know what the 8 gold spacer looking things are for? I saw them in your packaging as well at 1:54 and I can't figure it out lol
Nope. Didn't use them.
@@swooshdave sweeeet, just going to send it lol
how much camber can you adjust on here? for these cars ideally need 3 degrees positive camber
3 degrees is way too much. Where did you see that number? Opentracker doesn’t recommend more than 1.5 which is what I’m using.
I wonder if he meant caster.
@@davidkuhn3970 Caster on the early cars is tricky to set because the shims affect both the caster and camber.
@@swooshdave sorry yea i meant caster
So what CPP kit did you buy? The pro touring 2 kit? I know there is a 1 & a 2, wondering which you picked up?
