damn Death Knights not being present at all as dps is sad even as a whole class
Yeah, but just for high pushing. For MDI they would proberly be the #1 as unholy, they were always in the position that htey could not get buffed in 4-6 target cleave, they were strong in ST in raid, and full mode aoe aswell. but thats not what you do in M+ most of the time

Cool way to show the data, but it would've been easier to track if you had one table showing the current class you are talking about and another table with the total, it became difficult to quantify changes in the graph after some specs were added.
As an aff lock main idk about buying tww I think I need to see the numbers after launch and then I can decide.... but blizzard balance had been absolutely painful for a while now
That's because blizz makes niche specs, but refuses to let them shine in niche situations.
They made dot specs, but make dots weak because it can be abused in spread multitarget (which if they spread they intend raid dps to be split, not doubled) so you end up with affi with shadow bolt top dmg. You get specs that get hard target capped at X but dont dominate dps at X, and then get more and more outscaled as more targets above X appears.
Honestly, i'd be okay with affi coming back to WoD days, where dots were really potent, and if the fight was spread council affi was just broken, but was otherwise behind top specs on pure ST.
so play mage/hunter/DH/rogue (shocker) if you want to be meta and always find a group or aug evoker going forward cause aug is OP
9:06-9:12 SP is still like that, like if you arent doing 11s+ and have literally any good player in your group that does instant dps (ret pally, dh, mb hunter) AND if your tank isnt pulling huge 10-15 mob groups then you wont do any damage, everything will be dead or more than 50% dead by the time youre done applying your dots
Its the issue with casters in general, they need big pulls and ramp time, destro needs to ramp rain of fire, sp need to ramp dots, boomy needs to ramp dots, fire needs to ramp ignite. There's a few casters that can burst but i feel most of them ramp. Its why I usually prefer melee dps on my tank alts because they generally do better up to like +10s, then casters take over. Its why tier lists should really be ignored until you hit above 11s or raiding mythic.
@@Apostraphias If i remeber right at the end of shadowlands was the time wenn we got the shadow as meta because of two thing and that was PI and the 2nd was nightfae pact which reduces cds .
But if you are doing weekly keys does dmg really matter?
@@shiminsun1068 it always matters, its no fun pressing 15 buttons like youre doing a kombo from mortal kombat and doing half the dps as a ret pally or bm hunter that did double your dps and pressing 1/3 of the buttons
@zingerman11259 I mean sure it might feel bad, but I would argue that it matters even more that sp will be higher than most classes in 15+, and not to mention that sp gets actually invited to 15+ while bm hunter or ret will have a lot more difficulty there.
Depends on what you care about, high numbers in weekly key, which IMO is like being top dps in a world quest. Yeah, it matters, but ultimately, you only do weekly keys to fill the vault.
Dragonflight s3 was Demo lock and s4 was Desto lock
but aff was the hiden meta
hope your just a warlockfanboy, that s3 take is wild if you look at the +30 leaderboard, and thats what the video is about - the meta
no one is talking about Frost DK, they are truly ultimate class spec even now, but no one is playing it, idk why

Every time I joined a high key as Survival in Shadowlands, people would make fun of me or have rude comments. I almost always ended up as top dps.

@@Craftee6 Survival was good before a broken set bonus. It just became OP as hell with it.
I enjoy watching tier list videos, but by the end, I always feel like they are nonsense that only applies to about 1% of best players. I can't recall a season where I would prefer taking a caster, especially a Fire Mage, over a melee like a Paladin.
And when I need Bloodlust, I still prefer to take a Hunter. The simpler the character with straightforward burst damage, the greater the certainty of timing the key.
Pugging and high end coordinated groups is VASTLY different.. you cant compare that at all, this list is for top 1% keys with 5 man premades who play the game 12+ hours a day for a living. Literally 99% of the other playerbase should not look at this as a guideline at all
Hang on, BFA UHDK was top tier even in the championship. What happened to the numbers there?
They were only good in MDI because the group pulled arround their AoE damage, it required a very specific setup, which does not make a spec meta at all. MDI has nothing to do with meta
you said the next comp has to be ele aug aff holy and blood but aug has been meta 100% of the time it has existed. and dev hasnt had a good season yet.
holy paladin was good for the entierty of shadowlands lol shaman was so meh that i switched to h paly

@@3ssenti4L Not exactly true. Close but not exactly. They were insane dps in m+, at points beyond broken insane, to a point that nobody could come remotely close. But it had to be coordinated. Unholy had been abused in MDI a ton, but because of its reliance on massive pulls, ability to funnel that dmg into main target, and otherwise lacklusted single target dps in that spec, and just average aoe dps in that spec i was never played in pug.

Reality is every spec is capable of getting to 3400+ io score. You just have to form your own groups or play with friends.
Mages present in 10 of 12 seasons... we eating good. I like those odds heading into tww.

Ret in S4 is a meme and only looks good because lots of people play it. This is the problem with making a video that equates strength and meta to popularity. For example, Hpal was the most powerful healer in S1 SLs, but people didn’t figure out Ashen Hallow until very late. Additionally, ineffable truth Hpal may be the most overpowered version of Hpal in history but doesn’t make the list even though they timed the highest keys in China - Zmok/Ellesmere both owned as well.
