Totemic shaman makes me wish Shammies could customize their totem like Locks can with their demons now. Imagine if you could go to the barber & pick any of the totem looks in the game.

Shaman are sorely overdue for visual updates. Totems and also Ascendance and ghost forms. It all needs more options and to go in the barbershop
Also totem skins we haven’t seen in a long time
I suspect this is why it's taking so long to open Shaman for all races is the unique assets.
But yes, the ascendant is my biggest sticking point. Those things have never screamed 'pure elemental being' since we got it in cataclysm.

Shaman looks like the go to healer for M+. As a Holy Priest main I'm a little worried for keys as Holy Priest, especially with the new dungeons having so many curses and bleeds on top of the 7 mechanics each trash pack has.

I think not having an interrupt should either mean priest gets more cc than other classes or should be able to dispel all schools. Needs something extra and personally I don’t mind not having an interrupt, but it needs something over other healers to make up for that. This would feel pretty unique imo
earthen harmony is not a new talent and it gave more damage reduction before rework.
MOTE is also not a new talent although it has been redesigned

I don't know why they will not make healing rain instant cast. Or take Unleash life off the GCD. Downpour proc needs to last longer. I really wish rock shield did not have stacks that had to be reapplied constantly. Otherwise, I'm really liking TWW shaman.
unleash life should absolutely be off the GCD. it would do an insane amount towards smoothing out the spec

as someone who always return to resto after testing a "better" m+ spec, I'm so happy to just stay shaman. Totemic looks awesome.

A lot of shamans have been running a riptide/prim wave build in DF keys that’s much less mana hungry and will benefit the new undulation proc for farseer so I’m excited to see how that will feel because I only ever see totemic playtesting
Because totemic is more fun. Just the lack of HR upkeep is such insane QoL.

big problem with class tree is you have to take fringe utility to get nature's guardian, you just dont need tremor or hex that oten

what do u use to track and rebuff Earth Shield on 2 targets??
I feel like shaman got buffs from this but it doesn’t feel like the rework I assumed it was going to be. A lot of old talents revamped and talent tree pathing changed to make more talents available but that doesn’t mean they’re better. Resto shaman is definitely better than before in both raid and m+ but I feel like everyone wanted one of the other covenant abilities to come back and all we got is a two passive buffs and a new defensive. Better but underwhelming in the fun department imo

Im not sure if you knew this but the DR on earth shield existed pre rework as well but it was 6% instead of 5% so slightly nerfed
The 2 point nodes make the bottom half of the tree bad and unintuive
Does an additional auto attack even matter. What things does it benefit?
There are melee specs that gain energy/procs from auto attacks.
It matters a lot for your team, more damage, more resources, .etc
There are logs which show Windfury in a Raid team can contribute up to 5% additional dps to EACH melee spec, now spread that over the 4 melee in your party who got it...up to 20% additional. Now take that buff and give it to the entire raid. Yeah, it can be pretty beneficial.
It was pretty much the only reason to bring an enhancement shaman to a high end raid, and it was buffing only the party.
Now it is raid wide AND comes with mastery, yes it matters a lot
Absolute W for Resto and it's hero talents. I cannot tell you how happy I am that they made the ancestor proc off undulation as well because I do not like playing unleash life and I would never touch farseer if that were to be the case. And while I do like totemic tremendously more, I will at least give farseer a fair shake now.

Hey Jak, how do you rate resto shaman as a raid healer? ‘I’m thinking of switching to mistwalker for TWW. Resto shaman just feels flat and a bit dull. This video has me thinking I might should stay with it.

Hey Jak and Sham mains, I was wondering (wanna try to play Rsham next expansion) what is the reflexion between casying Healing Wave and Healing Surge ? HW for mana efficencie and HS for more bursty heal ? Thank you in advance :)
Yeah mana efficiency. W the changes Surge also can guarantee an earth living proc
The reason i love the shaman is it feels like a healer more than say a Mistweaver monk. If i wanted to play dps i would play dps but i want to heal. When I am on my Mistweaver monk I just dont have the same feeling as holy priest druid or shaman. I dont mind doing some damage but its not in my job title so leaving it to dots and a few cast allows me to use the healing spells more and feels more like a healer. My dps throughput coming from me buffing my dps and tank to do more damage is my jam :)
I'm SO happy now. The only thing that worries me is that I see you with almost 0% mana in every fight in M+...

Hey AutomaticJak I had a few questions about talents you didn't cover (and I don't know if they are even in the beta or not)
Reactive Warding: How does this talent feel? Does it provide significant healing if you apply a new Earth Shield to someone?
New Downpour gives allies +10% max HP, does this stack with the shaman talent Ancestral vigor? (or was AV removed?) If so then does that mean shamans are giving everyone in the group +20% max hp all the time?
Undulation is not a new talent but has had some wonky properties...for the entirety of Dragonflight. Have they updated it all or are there any changes to it.
#1.) In DF this talent is not tracked in your buff bar, requiring weakauras to see it.
#2.) In DF Undulation does not interact with Primordial Wave in an intuitive way. (if you want Undulation to buff your Primordial wave duplicated Healing waves then you have to cast Healing Wave at 2/3 stacks of Undulation)
Lastly. Shaman has had some opaque interactions between Cloudburst Totem, Ancestral Guidance and Ascendance.
Does healing from Totemic's healing rain or other hero class talents feed into Ascendance, AG and CB Totem?
Similarly, do Farseer grandparents feed into your cooldowns as well?

farseer would feel better if the spirits worked like resto druid's treant's. They should give us 1-2 charges of farseer spirits with the current undulation/unleash life having a chance to proc an extra spirit, or make them reduce the cooldown on the charges.. and the spirit should automatically start casting SOMETHING when they appear, instead of just standing there waiting for the shaman to cast. They should also change give a node in the hero talent tree to make your next healing rain instant cast when a farseer spirit is used, to offset that feeling that totemic healing rain is more superior..
I think Manatide totem will be a gimme as totemic for the extra chain heal. I think Totemic resto shaman is going to extremely strong to the point of season one nerf.
That ascended form is soooo nasty in 2024.
6:12 How do Totem's Chain Heals benefit from Tidal Waves? Tidal Waves only reduce the cast time but totemic chain heals are instant.
They don’t benefit but they do munch up those buffs just like they munch natures swiftness

resto shaman massive W rizz on ohio. on god totem shaman been rizzin in m+, utility is skibidi, on god. hope they don't get fanom-taxed too hard in raid tho and they can still do hps-maxxing

Shaman have had the earth shield DR in dragonflight for a while and could use on themselves too
I’m trying to find a healer class that has fun dps aswell.
I’m between shaman and Druid. And I think dwarfs are cooler so probably where I’m going lol

You have to import it in the about tab not the indicator tab
can‘t you go into a follower dungeon and get magefood there? doing this on live all the time on my healers. hope they add a warlock in those as well to get healthstones like that too lol

Master of the element's full dps side of the talent is disappointing... min-maxing dps with it was nice thing to play around. Flame Shock spread is good and useful, but the sacrifice was not necessary.
While there are a lot of strengths kit wise, resto shamans will struggle to do any dps. Blizz removed the one offensive cd resto had (stormkeeper), and nerfed master of the elements. Flame shock spread is very meaningless when your lava burst can only damage one target.I would gladly take 20% dmg or healing flexibility over more flame shocks which literally only tickle. Acid rain upkeep will be nicer at least with the new totem.
I agree that damage is awkward on shaman tho I don’t really think healer damage will be super important next season. There’s an absurd amount of stops required/curses/poisons in these dungeons and shamans strengths there should outweigh their weakness in damage
Stormkeep was ass. The cast time meant that if it came off CD during a pull you either wait until the pull is over or waste what could otherwise be a dms GCD on a prep spell. And while the net effect was positive, the cast time made it less powerful than it otherwise could have been. Additionally you have yet another button on your bar. Button bloat is a thing.
The new config means that not only are you not pressing stormkeeper, you are pressing FS less and the focus on DPS will be between CL and FS/lavaburst procs. A good shaman will be able to weave in those bursts a lot better and your brain power will be focused on that. It also means that if you have a pull in M+ where you have to stop doing dps to heal from an effect you can passively be prepping for more DPS once the healing is done. If I have a dollar for every time I wasted an instacast LB because I was healing someone during a pull I would be a rich man. This mitigates this (somewhat)
I wish they would have added fun to the gameplay instead of more things to counter every mechanic in the game.
Earthen Harmony is nerfed going from DF to TWW isn't it? Wouldn't class it as an extra defensive. Still there, just worse.

I have been played wow since just before Zul Gurub maybe 19 years ago.. For the first time in DF I became a main healer and for the first time got all my portals from M+. I started in season 2 with Priest (Mostly Disc) and alt'd Resto Shaman for the first time since BC in season three and four. I have also made a Monk and Druid in Remix to see if I like aspects of their gameplay. As the alpha and beta testing started I was set on Voidweaver Disc Priest. I am now set on Resto Shaman whether its Totemic or Farseer. So looking forward to it. :D

Removing stormkeeper is going to hurt rhsam big for pvp. Double insta lighting bolt + insta lb was one of the best ways to secure kills

It’s on theme for shamans and shamans have historically had terrible defensives so I think it’s one of those “take what you can get” type of things
@@AutomaticJakwhat stands out to me is that it is on the GCD which sucks for a defensive but also that you pretty much have to pair it with totemic recall which is talent point heavy and three total globals. At least for dps shaman, maybe resto could find a better use for recall.
