Polyphony always snuck in stuff under the radar. The bra and panty ad in Times Square on GT4 and GT Sports songs being uncensored are things I don't see people talking about when it comes to Easter eggs.

@@theginjaninja132 Welp, that's one more thing to ruin my childhood. I like that the racing game devs advertise each other even if it's in a small way like a random billboard most won't notice, they realise something OTT fanboys don't, you can enjoy more than one racing game and if we want our favorite genre to survive as it falls in relevance these days, a bit of community spirit will go far.
Also, not sure when Gran Turismo 6 was released, but the fact that the Sammy Logo is next to Sonic is a particular coincidence, since a company named Sammy helped with the Sonic the Hedgehog movie released this year.
I feel like some the Special Stripes that the Mazda Miata MX-5 has (in GT6) could be references to the Liveries that you get for the MX-5 in the original Gran Turismo 1 (as some Racing Modified MX-5s had Stripes down the middle of them)?
That doesn't make sense as SSR11 is set on a specially built street/highway circuit in a city. Also I think it was missing in GT2 but reappeared as an alternate layout (without the chicane crossing 2 highway barriers) in GT3
GT has been one of my loves ever since I played GT1 on a demo disc in 199(8?) Along with MGS, Spyro, Legacy of Kain:Soul Reaver, and others I was maybe 7/8? Born in 1988. I remember going to Electronics Boutique to buy Ehrgeiz(that FF7 fighting game) and seeing GT2 on the shelf pre-owned for like $40. I begged and begged my parents for it... They had no idea why a child my age would want a car game. Needless to say, they helped foster a love for cars that continues to this day. I bought GT7 the other day, and it brings me back to GT2. I love the aesthetic, the music, the sound, everything.
All that's years have been passed from the last time since i played GT6... THIS BRINGS ME A LOT OF NEW REASONS TO GIVE LIFE TO MY PS3!!! Geat video and I gonna wait to the part 3!
I remember (if you covered this before) in GT4 Trial mountain there is a bunch of creepy faces on the rocks after the tunnel part. Yes I know it’s in GT5 & 6 as well
Not sure if this counts as an easter egg, but I just realized that in the GT5 trailer for the new Acura NSX, about 1:07 into that video, there's what looks to be like an updated version of Seattle Circuit!
Just want to point out another Easter Egg. At 14:40 that house is the exact same to the house in real life on mountain straight. The Supercar teams normally live it in during the Bathurst 1000 but it's a really cool addition.
The camera in the megane looks to be a circuit tools VBox camera used in most top end motorsports. They are 100% used in the world and euro rallycross championships and are used for data logging. Thanks for the upload 😀 👍
I’m pretty sure I’ve seen a Namco logo on Fuji Speedway 80’s or 90’s in Gran Turismo 4. Also I better look out for the Auto Modellista logo next time I go to Suzuka on GT4 too!
Now I am wondering why PD, put the modern Konami logo on Suzuka Circuit? I know PD wanted to compete with Konami's Enthusia professional racing, but there is no Suzuka Circuit in Enthusia, there are only Nurburgring, and Indianapolis Super speedway
I'm pretty sure I've brought it up before, but I don't see it in your playlist.... Have you ever considered doing a video on why so many vehicles and tracks from Gran Turismo 2 were never seen in any subsequent game? :)
Hi CapeMike. Thanks for the suggestion and sorry if I've missed it before. I think it's a good idea. The only thing I'd wonder about is if I could find out why the vehicles and tracks weren't present on later games in the series, or whether it's just something that's not known for sure.
@@MattJ155 I'd chalked some of it up to the numerous bugs that made it into the game, due to it's rushed production...but some of the tracks and cars(especially my beloved 2000 Dodge Stratus) not showing up again just baffles me....
@RoadhogTime13 I just want to see some of my personal favorites return, like Grindelwald and Red Rock Valley Speedway, and the 2000 Dodge Stratus...mostly because I drove one in real life for 9 years, heh. :D
Probably because they were modelled in a way that means they'd look awful just plonked in GT3 and above. Making tracks in gt3 and above was a lot more work too, so they must have had to prioritise which tracks they wanted to re-make.
I think most of the references are not intentional. Most of these advertising boards were part of Formula Nippon and Super GT races. That's why you can find GT references in other games. Sony and Polyphony also sponsored races like "Le Mans 24 hours".
Some additions to some of these easter eggs I thought were interesting: 6. The planes flying over Tahiti maze appear to be undersides of the Dassault/Dornier Alpha Jets. 12. Thankfully without the need for DLC, The Simpson Diamondback Helmet and Alpinestars Suit reappear in GT6 for 500 cr and 2,500 cr respectively (with all their colors) so even without internet or PSN, you can relive having the Stig. Just be be prepared to spend alot more time to do it since seasonals and login bonuses aren't a thing. 13. Sadly, there appears to be no secret tunnel for SSRX. A recent video showed that the long road just leads to a dead end. 19. The other cars that have action cameras in GT Sport are: BMW M4 GR.4 Chevy Corvette C7 GR.4 Ford Mustang GR.4 Honda NSX GR.4 Hyundai Genesis GR.4 Lexus RC F GR.4 Mazda Atenza GR.4 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo GR.4 Peugeot RCZ GR.4 Subaru WRX GR.4 Chevy Corvette C7 GR.3 Ford Mustang GR.3 Honda NSX GR.3 Hyundai Genesis GR.3 Mazda Atenza GR.3 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo GR.3 Peugeot RCZ GR.3 Subaru WRX GR.3 Ford Fiesta GR.B Ford Mustang GR.B Honda NSX GR.B Hyundai Genesis GR.B Mitsubishi Lancer Evo GR.B Peugeot RCZ GR.B Subaru WRX GR.B Worth noting that not only are there three styles of camera (The most common being the one that appears to be modelled after the GoPro Hero series), but there are also several cars that feature 2 in the interior (All these being from Subaru, Mitsubishi and Mazda).
16:32 Well Matt, that "one other possible car in the game" you mentioned about happens to be the Ford Mustang Gr.3 (and possibly Gr.4 and B too since they happen to share the same kind of interior): that car has a few GoPro decals around it and if you look at the rear of its cockpit (best viewed in VR) you can find an action cam in the shape of a GoPro, but without having any of its official markings for some reason. Hell, at 17:22 you shown a picture with said car and logo of the afromentioned company, almost as if ironically it would foreshadow your discovery of this easter egg if you or someone else ever tried looking closer at that car...lol
About SSRX alternate layout, The GT Planet forum is NOT dead because I revived it! If you want to join, ask in the comments and I’ll give the link. All the news we know about that yes, it is in GT Sport. I made a video about it a while back. And is it possible to get out of SSRX? Well, Yes! It’s possible WITHOUT hacking! It’s though very limited. Now, if someone had an emulator for PS3 or PS4, and GT Sport and hack it a tad, we would be golden. If you know how todo this, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE CONTACT THE THREAD! We would love to crack the code and drive on SSRX Alternate layout! And hopefully, one day, somehow, Special Stage Route X official layout gets released.
I have an excellent idea for you Matt: *I want you to expose that the fantasy racetracks from GT1-GTS were mutations of real circuits* -High-Speed Ring was a simplified Fuji Speedway with tunnels & banking added -Mid Field raceway was Suzuka without the esses -Apricot Hill was Autopolis without elevation -Grand Valley was a combination of Fuji speedway, & Autopolis -Superspeedway was Twin Ring Motegi Speedway with a different background

Hey, have you heard about the "kiosk mode" in GT5P? It lets you run the game with your custom selection of cars and tracks, and even custom demo races and loading logo!
Thanks for tip! I hadn't heard of it.
And Gran Turismo 4 was recently discovered to have a "secret menu" similar to the ones in the PS3 installments.
@@EpicB Ooooh! Tell me more! What's the button combo? Where can I read more?
@@C.I... tcrf.net/Gran_Turismo_4#Secret_.28Special_Settings.29
L1+Up+L2+Down+R1+Left+R2+Right+Start+Start on the second controller. As with the PS3 secret menus it effectively functions as a "kiosk mode", and appears to give you access to every car whether or not you've unlocked them.
@@EpicB Oh man it's like Christmas! Thanks so much for showing me this! Doesn't appear to unlock more cars/track, though - just limit them :(
6:23 eyyyy there I am c:
Congratulations
Polyphony always snuck in stuff under the radar. The bra and panty ad in Times Square on GT4 and GT Sports songs being uncensored are things I don't see people talking about when it comes to Easter eggs.
Yeah in GT1 one of the songs only has 2 lyrics and one of them is a pretty audible Nbomb, it's not something you notice at first but you will never unhear it
@@theginjaninja132 Welp, that's one more thing to ruin my childhood. I'm surprised how GT1 and GTS are not rated M as most games that say racial slurs and the F bomb (GTS) are usually branded with that in no time. I guess in GT Sport's case the Esrb doesn't rate songs anymore. Games like Just Dance actually have some uncensored songs but it maintains an E rating.
@@samuelshiels4608 I think they claimed to use the radio edit but just turned down the volume for the voice on the track, it was also a very chaotic electronic song so it's easy to miss unless you notice there is a word there
@@theginjaninja132 the radio edit for Guns N Roses cover of Knocking on Heaven’s Door didn’t remove Duff’s monologue which contains the F word in the middle of the song, they just turned it way down so it’s almost inaudible at normal volume. If you crank the volume up all the way, you can still hear it.
There's gonna be a part 3? Man, I've been really enjoying this so far! ^^
Let's help Matt find more so a part 3 can happen!!!
Thanks both! I've got about 15 more for a part three right now, so any more would be really appreciated. :)
@@MattJ155 in gt2 doing racing modification on the 98 Ford cobra gives it a whole widebody lot
The hidden gem trophy from GT6 looks like a reference to the lego games with the blue pieces
I was thinking of crash bandicoot reference, since some gems are hidden on different routes on levels 😄
The top gear stig easter egg was perfectly executed, well done
Reminder set.
That is Auto Modellista Advertiser logo was a Easter Egg from Gran Turismo 4.
I personally believe that the lady that is found at bern would be the Queen of the Nurburgring Sabine Schmitz herself
The fact that Bruce Wayne drove the AMG Vision Concept in Justice League just made the headlight easter egg hilarious.
I would say those fighter jets at Tahiti Maze sky (4:48) F-4 Phantoms.
I like that the racing game devs advertise each other even if it's in a small way like a random billboard most won't notice, they realise something OTT fanboys don't, you can enjoy more than one racing game and if we want our favorite genre to survive as it falls in relevance these days, a bit of community spirit will go far.
Love these! Thanks for all of your work!
You're welcome!
Also, not sure when Gran Turismo 6 was released, but the fact that the Sammy Logo is next to Sonic is a particular coincidence, since a company named Sammy helped with the Sonic the Hedgehog movie released this year.
6:29 If I got a Fiat Panda for my birthday I wouldn't be very happy
Gran Turismo 4 also has the "Kid's Prize", I've gotten it once when failing to get Gold Prize for quite a long while.
I feel like some the Special Stripes that the Mazda Miata MX-5 has (in GT6) could be references to the Liveries that you get for the MX-5 in the original Gran Turismo 1 (as some Racing Modified MX-5s had Stripes down the middle of them)?
Hmm, maybe! I'll have to check that out.
it's rumoredthat the alternative layout on SSRX is a part of SSR11 from GT1 and 2
That doesn't make sense as SSR11 is set on a specially built street/highway circuit in a city.
Also I think it was missing in GT2 but reappeared as an alternate layout (without the chicane crossing 2 highway barriers) in GT3
@@theginjaninja132 as I said it's a rumour so it's fake,aslo as you said SSR11 is on a different place
Just 2 more years until the NIKE car.

GT has been one of my loves ever since I played GT1 on a demo disc in 199(8?) Along with MGS, Spyro, Legacy of Kain:Soul Reaver, and others
I was maybe 7/8? Born in 1988. I remember going to Electronics Boutique to buy Ehrgeiz(that FF7 fighting game) and seeing GT2 on the shelf pre-owned for like $40. I begged and begged my parents for it... They had no idea why a child my age would want a car game. Needless to say, they helped foster a love for cars that continues to this day.
I bought GT7 the other day, and it brings me back to GT2. I love the aesthetic, the music, the sound, everything.
I've always wondered about the track above and inside Route X. Hope we actually get to drive on them in GT7.
Brandon Umagat
I named the alternative route inside SSRX:
*SSR12*
All that's years have been passed from the last time since i played GT6... THIS BRINGS ME A LOT OF NEW REASONS TO GIVE LIFE TO MY PS3!!!
Geat video and I gonna wait to the part 3!
YES! been waiting for this
I remember (if you covered this before) in GT4 Trial mountain there is a bunch of creepy faces on the rocks after the tunnel part. Yes I know it’s in GT5 & 6 as well
I like the music in the background. I used to play GT years ago.
Not sure if this counts as an easter egg, but I just realized that in the GT5 trailer for the new Acura NSX, about 1:07 into that video, there's what looks to be like an updated version of Seattle Circuit!
Yeah, I've seen that too! I was thinking of mentioning it in part three.
That into was beautiful man, proud of you.
Thank you!
@@MattJ155 what was the song used though
Thanks for the upload, really well-made video! Your voice is so pleasant and relaxing to listen
16:44 - Wouldn't that just be one of several onboard cameras featuring on racing cars? 🤔
Yeah, thought the same thing
On the Red Bull X2010, X2011 and X2014 have this feature when you go into the cockpit view then flash the lights, the speedometer will become dimmer.
Just want to point out another Easter Egg. At 14:40 that house is the exact same to the house in real life on mountain straight. The Supercar teams normally live it in during the Bathurst 1000 but it's a really cool addition.
#19 there’s also a GOPRO in the group B focus
With regards to nr.19, actually quite a few cars have action cams modeled, most are pretty much generic “GoPro” shaped, unlike the one in the Megane.
10:51 Yeah, I've really seen in the NSX Concept Trailer. Was wondering that time on what course is that, lol.
Great video! Glad im subscribed
Thanks Eric!
Great vid as always! Thoroughly enjoyed it. Keep 'em comin'!
Thanks Alex!
Theory for the 11th easter egg:
The woman is either your agent, or could be the driver's wife
I think most of the references are not intentional. Most of these advertising boards were part of Formula Nippon and Super GT races. That's why you can find GT references in other games. Sony and Polyphony also sponsored races like "Le Mans 24 hours".
Some additions to some of these easter eggs I thought were interesting:
19. The other cars that have action cameras in GT Sport are:
BMW M4 GR.4
Chevy Corvette C7 GR.4
Ford Mustang GR.4
Honda NSX GR.4
Hyundai Genesis GR.4
Lexus RC F GR.4
Mazda Atenza GR.4
Mitsubishi Lancer Evo GR.4
Peugeot RCZ GR.4
Subaru WRX GR.4
Chevy Corvette C7 GR.3
Ford Mustang GR.3
Honda NSX GR.3
Hyundai Genesis GR.3
Mazda Atenza GR.3
Mitsubishi Lancer Evo GR.3
Peugeot RCZ GR.3
Subaru WRX GR.3
Ford Fiesta GR.B
Ford Mustang GR.B
Honda NSX GR.B
Hyundai Genesis GR.B
Mitsubishi Lancer Evo GR.B
Peugeot RCZ GR.B
Subaru WRX GR.B
Worth noting that not only are there three styles of camera (The most common being the one that appears to be modelled after the GoPro Hero series), but there are also several cars that feature 2 in the interior (All these being from Subaru, Mitsubishi and Mazda).
Absolutely love this channel so much. Keep them coming!
Thank you!
That opening song brings tears to my eyes. 😭♥️
6:33 *_LAUGHS IN GT5 MASTER MOD_*
9:30 *_WHEEZES IN GT5 MASTER MOD_*
Ha, thanks! I must check out that car more in-depth, as you say.
Great video 👏👏👏 Thank you for the mention!
Thank you for the submission!

I think an emulator for PS4, mgs4 I think, is in development
Interesting! I didn't know some of them, thanks for making this video, Matt!
Thanks!
This is gonna be fire~!
I have an excellent idea for you Matt:
*I want you to expose that the fantasy racetracks from GT1-GTS were mutations of real circuits*
-High-Speed Ring was a simplified Fuji Speedway with tunnels & banking added
-Mid Field raceway was Suzuka without the esses
-Apricot Hill was Autopolis without elevation
-Grand Valley was a combination of Fuji speedway, & Autopolis
-Superspeedway was Twin Ring Motegi Speedway with a different background
Great compilation, Matt!! There's many Easter Eggs not really meant to be found, such as the carry over tracks from GT4 to GT5, yes, tracks like New York are actually on the GT5 disc!
Thanks! Yes, I'm aware of the additional tracks partially ported over onto GT5. I was thinking of mentioning the fact that Seattle was seen in the same Acura NSX trailer I mentioned in this video, which could be a nice segway into talking about these removed tracks.
@@MattJ155 Sounds like a great idea!

Thank you so much for this video. Today is my birthday so I went to GT Sport to get my gift car. Something nice to have when your birthday is in the middle of this pandemic :)
Happy belated birthday!
The "Sammy" on the start/finish line next to the sonic logo is the logo for Sammy studios, a Sega studio that made pachinko games and had a studio in San Diego.
Similarly to the Megane camera thing, the GT-R LM NISMO longboi has GoPro mounts in a couple of places inside the cockpit, including the top of the windscreen surround. Not the actual cameras, just the stick-on mounts for them. GoPro was one of the sponsors, after all!
Great video as always thanks for making my day! :)
