I just watched a documentary about Mountain Gardens run by Joe Hollis right before you posted this. Its quite the opposite side of the spectrum to the glamor of a country club. He's a truly self sustaining man. Its 5 miles east of this airstrip right over Mt. Mitchell. It might not fit your style of video but I found the biodiversity of the surrounding Ashville area amazing and he's quite the character. Might be worth a visit if you're back in the area.
I live in Burnsville, Joe Hollis passed away about 1-2 weeks ago actually. I seen the video you are referring to and it was fascinating. I've lived here (Burnsville) my whole life and didn't know of that community. I also worked at Mtn Air through High School. You're correct, very diverse and differing peoples for sure; but we all love it here!
@@wolfpack2233 NO you're kidding! Oh man that's a gut punch, what a wealth of knowledge just up into the breeze. The biodiversity of his plants and the surrounding flora and fauna of the West NC fascinated me. He lived an incredible life.
BTW, property owners at Mountain Air don’t need to join the Country Club, which provides amenities like an 18-hole golf course, complete golf practice area, tennis, pickleball, basketball, formal dining (with commons area for parties), casual dining, fitness center, and mountain market.
You guys are so super awesome! My fiancé (we are hs sweethearts who took a 33 year break lol!) has all of his hours for his private pilots license…20 years old at the time. All he had to do is take the flight and written test. Was going to fly commercially but became a teacher instead! You’re inspiring him to maybe finish up at 53! Love your videos and reels…so amazing!
3:11 Lol, you *_can_* say the code. It's a dynamic one time use code. It will be different each time you go. The only time you don't want to reveal the code, is prior to landing. Once you land, not even you can Even use the code again.
@@flymetothefun Several are so close together they could easily make a nice week-long trip. For a lot of us who aren't pilots, your adventures are a wonderful way to enjoy flying vicariously.
When in Europe you should try Meribel. 5500 ft Elevation, runway 1330 ft length. But only with instructor, you need special Mountain rating to land here. And this is easy one. More challenging 830 ft length grass runway on 8000 ft elevation. It do not have a name of airport, but altiport. But if you want to push yourself to limits, mountain rating in France is something unbelievable. P.S. I do not remember POH of 150/152, why you didn’t use flaps for takeoff? P.P.S. Love your videos. Really great
Your aircraft is more than worthy of a new more powerful engine ! My friend up graded his C - 150 J and really liked the additional power with not much more fuel burn at all .
Good Evening, I hope all is well. I really love your videos. I wanted to know I live in Georgia do you know of any good Flight schools near me by Hartsfield international airport
I live in North Carolina. It’s a very beautiful place down south and north and you’re saying when you were trying to get to the resort when you took off from that one runway in Asheville, I don’t recommend going to Asheville. Anymore is very messed up hurricane Helene.
I saw a full page ad in the Wall Street Journal probably 30+ years ago. Drove down there and took a tour. Very cool place but the Burnsville townies didn't have much nice to day about it.
Great video! Do they let people just come in and stay, or do you have to join the club? Looks like a great place for a weekend getaway if they let people do that sort of thing.
@@flymetothefun BTW, I wanted to tell you how much I appreciate your channel! Just the simple fun of flying the way it’s supposed to be. I work for a big airline and it’s so easy to loose sight of how simple and fun it can be. Thanks for the reminder and for taking us along!
That is a beautiful 150 you have there Sir!! What a classic bird!!

Very nice, guys! Beautiful flight, gorgeous location, and you’re obviously having fun and being smart. 👍

Yes! Been waiting for a long video format of this video! I saw the short but I really wanted a longer video. ❤
I saw this on Instagram Recently. Thanks for sharing the experience with us 😍
Awesome! You two rock! 👏👏👏
I got to land there last year. Amazing place! Luckily I had an instructor with me, cause it’s definitely no easy place to land!
Who was the instructor
I really really envy your 150 super clean👍🏼
Great content you have. I will be in KPDK on the 4th of December. Would love to buy you lunch.

I have been planning to fly down here from my home base at CDW - looks like a great place for an overnight! Thanks for sharing, great landing.
Yo!! That was awesome! That takeoff from the top of the mountain was a great shot!
Ingalls field in hot springs Va is a good one too and Public. 3800ish MSL

Great video on a really cool private runway! I’ve always wanted to fly there!
Love your videos!
Especially your flight to St. Barts.
Do you have a vidoe of your flight back?
Thank you.
My friend flies his Pilatus PC12 there. Reverse prop helps!
That is one great looking airplane. Thanks for posting
Amazing footage!
awesome view from the tail... thank you..
That is just to cool. About to finish my PPL and this place is on my list. How did you get to stay there and play golf?
Really good vid! Wish you got more of the resort that place is badass
I live in Burnsville and have been watching you guys for a long time I’ve taken off there before
New to the channel, also afraid of flying. You make it look easy and nothing to be worried about.
I'd love to see you all tackle some of the great airports out west, like Monument Valley, Marble Canyon, or Sedona AZ.
We’ve been thinking the same thing 🤔

That’s awesome. I grew up in Hendersonville NC and had no idea that was so close
I love you guys
I made the exact flight in Ms flight sim with the exact same Cessna 😊. Pretty cool airstrip

But you lose quite a bit of your useful load with the O-320 conversion!
I thought y’all were gonna have to jumper the taxi lol
amazing
Love this!! Would love to do this with the family

Have you ever flown into Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport?
Super cool. Definitely on the list of places to fly into. Did you rent a place, or did a friend get you in for a night?

I’ve landed on mountain air with my brand new cirrus sr22
Great video! Do they let people just come in and stay, or do you have to join the club? Looks like a great place for a weekend getaway if they let people do that sort of thing.
That was amazing. Question, did you bring your golf clubs or ship them?
Rented them! 🏌🏻♂️
@@flymetothefun 👍
That was cool
So Jealous! I've wanted to land there in our Cirrus since we first flew over, but I can't get Beth on board. :)
Are you using skydemon on the tablet?
a little late but its foreflight
Great perspective as a former employee i never got... seen some crashes tho so... living up there would be awesome but id go the helicopter route
What is the location and the cost of overnight there .?
That was amazing! Love the 360 camera
Can someone tell what apps they use for flying?
How much does the overnight stay cost and the ramp fees?
Try Jackson County, NC (24A) for the same type of airport and runway.
24A is no joke. I landed there in a Navajo once and got quite the workout on the controls! Lots of windshear and turbulence!
Am I the only one who tried to rotate the 360° camera😂
Lol
I swear,you really don’t need an old cessna 150
Get a newer one
Bro this is literally Boltic Airfield from PTFS😂💀💀

It's great you and your girlfriend share flying interest! How many other interest do you share?
That was exciting
Oh yeeeeeeuuuuhhhh
Reminds me so much of Catalina Island; without the trees, and altitude, but add some ocean. 😂🤣
Anyone else screenshot the airports to fly it on flightsim later?💪
Yeah
Nailed that centerline, bro!

Yes!! We were just talking about that! Gotta make it happen

If you knew where to look you could just about see our 600 acre campus just off your left horizontal stab @1:39 :-). That's home!
The mountains loom good on y’all, probably should move to these parts
Dude that’s what I’m saying!!
You should go fly to Truckee California
