One of the coolest things I can say I've ever done was that my fight somewhere was on a private jet to a movie premire. I worked on the movie which was independent and the pilot was in the movie. So I had the connection and the pilot didn't charge me since there was an extra seat. That was 20 years ago. I have an iMDB listing because of that movie.
as cool as it is for the traveler i think its great for the owners of the planes. a reason to be able to enjoy your plane with a purpose more often than just the family vacation. hope to see this come to the US
It’s probably too good to be true. If this somehow becomes popular, commercial jet corporations would do anything to stop it, including lobbying the government to put restrictions on its usage, and apply the same security and customs inspections to it as public flights. Also, it’s not exactly good for the environment, and as more people do it, supply will become limited and prices will just rise significantly.

Guys it doesn't work . I try to do it but it shows 24k$ 14k$ . I tried from every city Vancouver toronto, mtl but it just shows shared flight is not available
Yeah you gotta be at the right location to get the cheap legs. Towns like toront aint gonna do it. Places like gainsville or maybe even jackson hole. You basically need the stars to align. A rich flyer needs to be staying long enough that there not gonna keep the plane there so you can get there back Leg. Thing is how many people have the flexibility to fly on someone elses schedule. Then there are the added costs of short term accomodations with little lead time. its not cheaper by a long shot.
Wow! That was great, Mike. I had no idea that there was an app available for this. It looks like a bargain for the traveller and helps to reduce costs for the aircraft operator. I note from one of the previous comments that it only operates in Canada- what a pity, but my chances of a cheap trans-Atlantic private plane are probably remote anyway.
Super cool, it's too bad it's just in Canada right now, that said I still signed up and hope Airble is successful enough to expand. I see this being incredibly useful in other locations with regional aerodromes and airports like New Zealand, Australia, the US and the UK.
You just launched that app success. No longer a corporate secret. Respectfully, someone should have provided longer layers below the crown in the back or shortened the length. The lack of balance resembles a ladies shag cut. You are too adorable to be stuck with the stylist that did that to you.
I’ve been about to fly private a handful of times with the owner of the company I work for and it definitely makes my typical economy experience feel pretty terrible in comparison. Pulling up to the airstrip feels like you’re going to a coffee shop or something and you’re on the plane in like 100 steps or less. It is a little different when you’re the owner of the jet though. No safety briefing, no checking the weight of luggage, and he would just call the pilot when we were on the way to the airstrip and tell them to get it ready. From the time we parked, it might be 15 to 20 minutes until we were in the air which is just insane the first time you experience it. Turbulence in those smaller jets can also be an experience lol.
It's funny because you get the exact same experience at tiny, remote airports. Quick checks, empty and comfortable with tons of amenities, get walked out to the runway by the pilot and boarded immediately, takeoff is quick. I flew out of some small ass town in Idaho and it was EXACTLY like this.
@@borg_wow that does sound pretty nice. Even my local airport in Tulsa is pretty convenient and low stress compared to big city airports. My limited experience with flying private was that it was on a different level simply because of the flexibility and control over schedule that the owner has. We pulled the car right up next to the plane and left the keys in it for someone to deal with and were in the air in less than 5 minutes. If I actually owned a jet I imagine it would be difficult to go back to commercial when it’s necessary. The owner of the jet I’ve flown on sometimes has to because planes require regular maintenance and once in awhile his pilots just aren’t available because they do have lives. I’m sure flying American Airlines is rough after a month of using a PJ. To me commercial flights still feel like a nice luxury even if they have a lot of stress that seems unnecessary.
Back in 2010 i had a Vertu Ascent Ti phone and it had an app for a private jets that worked same way, you could get from Milano to Naples for 300 euro, and because it only worked for a Vertu owners there was always a free plane for that price.
Probably paying that much for a small group to do an interstate flight from like NY to LA would definitely be worth it as it would only cost a bit more than economy class in a budget airline! It would also make a lot of sense for smaller groups travelling to remote locations like if you are flying from a major Australian city to a really remote regional town/area! :)
I think the making flights faster by removing the wait times, customs...etc will make costs come down and profits go up for these private airlines because the 2 hrs of wait time for each flight adds up and if there's 5 flights per day that 10 hours of more flights that could be done in that time.
@@D33Lux Yup while that could also allow those charter airlines to do flights that are the same price per person compared to economy class non budget airlines! That’s of course as long as your group is just the right size to fill the flight! They might also be cheaper than commercial airlines when it comes to flying to more remote locations were commercial flights are otherwise really expensive like from any major city in Australia to Alice Springs for example! :)
While not actually a jet (turboprop), I'd chose the Avanti over a lear, etc... At least once.. I've been inside one at Austin TX) FBO and the interior was exceptional...

No security, no customs. Worked at an FBO for years and was lucky to fly private many times. It always sucked going back home on a commercial flight lol.

Man its so awesome that you got to fly on a Piaggio Avanti. that aircraft is a masterpiece. On this topic, I think JSX also offers somewhat of a similar service.
The thing that made me laugh was your scooter/ luggage sort of thing and that damn facial expression at the end. Mike, you are one hell of a vlogger. Oh and flying luxury is where it is at. I am flying into Vancouver in May. I'm heading over to Vancouver Island to visit family and friends. I have been telling people about your channel. Thanks
Uhh… last time I checked, that P-180 of yours isn’t a jet but a prop. But its speed is compatible with various jet trainers such as those that are frequently used in air shows which is impressive!
This is a massive game changer for private jets. Even smaller companies will be able to afford their own while making money off of it and saving money while using it. This is a prime example of distributed wealth. I really hope people realize how cheap this can be if more planes get on that app and more people hear about the prices. Obviously they'll never be able to cover the majority of traffic but $100 more then economy? That's gotta make the big airline palms sweat.
Airlines need not worry, this is not a mass-scalable model. There won’t be any more cheap ”deadhead” trips available when more people know about this: the fares are going to go up to fit demand to the relatively static supply. Maybe more existing private plane operators will sign up as it gets more popular, but there’s only so many of them. It’s also unlikely that this app makes private plane operating that much more profitable overall to allow new operators to start up.
@@hylje the app doesn't need to make the plane profitable for a company it just needs to get them closer to breaking even, they're gonna spend the money either way. I believe that's what I just said in my comment, it'll never replace popular routes in bulk but for odd route specially from non international airports this could really take a chunk out of that market. Commercial airlines usually need to somewhat deadhead themselves for the more out of the way routes meanwhile every airport in America has at least one private plane parked at it. If you notice on the app in the beginning it's not just fancy jets, they had little Cessnas on there too. Could really help a plane enthusiast pay for maintenance or just help them get more hours. Small planes are just way better for some routes instead of a half empty 747 once a month.
This is not a dependable mode of transportation because there is no guarantee that an airplane will be at the airport you want to depart from and even worse trying to find an airplane to return to where you want to go.
I came up with this idea over ten years ago because my buddy had a private jet company that was flying back from trips with no one in them so I told him to do an uber private jets app to fill the empty jet on the way back that way the pilots and fuel will be covered by the people taking the flight that would otherwise be empty. I even suggested how much they should charge, "$500"! Interesting...When I WAS THE ONE WHO SUGGESTED THE COST. Guys, Please don't let these rich, entitled people steal your idea/ thought power!!
This seems like a really great idea, but I went on the app there seems to be no US flights, it’s all Canada which was disappointing.Hopefully they bring this to the US in the future.
This is awesome. I checked their website and I think they operate in Canada only. I vacationed to Denver recently and on the train to the airport I saw the Rocky Mountaineer from your channel on an adjacent track. I was so excited that I recognized it!
@@Beet5090 no, a jet uses a turbine engine to produce thrust to move the vehicle. This does use a turbine, but that spins the prop, hence not a jet. Jet definition- "a rapid stream of liquid or gas forced out of a small opening." which is not how a propeller works, otherwise you'd be saying that every helicopter with a turbine engine is also a het5, which they're not; or the Chrysler turbine car from the 50s is also a jet since it uses a turbine engine to turn it's wheels, and it's obviously not a jet

Charters can be the best way to go... and if you pool with other family or friends you can go farther with about or in this case cheaper than most coach prices. You can give up the reliability on the return flight costs and availability sometimes.

As always thank you for taking me with you on your travels. I love Canada and it’s on my list to visit and maybe just stay.
Technically it is though, It is a turboprop. Only difference between a Turboprop and a more "normal" jet is that the Propellers are on the outside vs inside of the engine.
@@Island_Line_Rail_Productions You might want to look up the differences between a turboprop, turbofan, turbojet and turboshaft engines, if you are interested! The Piaggio Avanti aircraft are classified in the turboprop category and are equipped with Pratt & Whitney PT-6 turboprop engines!!
Hey rookie, stop calling that a private jet. You were getting a turboprop, and you seemed to get it after you met the crew and he told you about the Avanti.

I love the cost of your flight, as you are getting first class for steerage class price....way to go.
I'm happy you discovered & tried 1st hand a more affordable way to travel. It was so nice to meet Sarah & see Riley. I hope you have a good week!
One of the coolest things I can say I've ever done was that my fight somewhere was on a private jet to a movie premire. I worked on the movie which was independent and the pilot was in the movie. So I had the connection and the pilot didn't charge me since there was an extra seat. That was 20 years ago. I have an iMDB listing because of that movie.
who asked?

as cool as it is for the traveler i think its great for the owners of the planes. a reason to be able to enjoy your plane with a purpose more often than just the family vacation. hope to see this come to the US
It’s probably too good to be true.
@@JwellsuhhuhRight now, the prices are high enough you could just settle for first class on a regular flight anyways.
@@Jwellsuhhuh Tell that to Taxi drivers
@@borg_wow my region (hong kong) bans uber and made their own "uber" which is basically collaborated with uber to call their normal taxis.
And in other places in the world, taxi companies are nothing compared to the incomprehensible huge commercial aviation industry. Just like oil companies and big tech, they're going nowhere are they will do everything in their power to stay that way.
Unless those same aviation companies all happened to agree to switch to their own private/jet-pool models which would be unlikely because they're significantly less profitable
been using an app like this in the US for over half a decade
Flies private and makes an eco ad
LOL I'm a farm boy from Minnesota, yes, I got lucky and destroyed the curve in grad school ( and as an undergrad I was on scholarship). I appreciated how the other half lives. So I pull up to the airport and i am scheduled for a privet flights and the guy behind the security gate says pull up to X area and we will wash your car/truck while you are gone... Appreciate your video!
Bucket list to-do, for sure!!
Gotta love apps these days “jet at a propeller price” - a brilliant person spotted an opportunity in deadhead travel, and thereyago. What a time to be alive in so many respects.
Thanks for this video and thanks to your sponsor!
Looks like the ideal way to to fly especially shared rides are 3-400 haha
Oh no....this could be a problem for me. I used to rent the "cheapest ride" when traveling, but then noticed the "full size" ride was usually less than $10/day more...so I'd do those, and when you combine it for a week...it's even less. This IS a game changer!! Thanks Mike!! I will have to check it out!!
Ok, seems Airble only operates in Canada for the moment. Bummer!! Gotta see if there is a US equivalent.
JSX and Blade exist in the US. Have never flown in either but friends have done JSX.
@@Santiago-in1xf JSX and Blade are private jet fleets, the same as Million Air. They definitely fly deadhead routes, but they aren't really in the same category as Airble, which, as Downie explained, contracts with companies such as Million Air(and I'm hoping eventually JSX and Blade) to fly deadhead routes with Airble customers onboard, essentially turning those deadheads into real flights!
Ten dollars a day for Uber jets sounds very false considering that most Ubers charge more than double of that for a car ride less than an hour long.
@@SYDAirlineEnthusiast Yeah, I was referring to the upgrade on car rentals being $10/day more, not Uber or flying privately...sorry for the confusion. But as Downie explained, for just a little more ($150 each over commercial), he and his friend were able to fly private. Pretty cool!
@@itsnotme07 10 bucks a day for a car rental is excellent. I never rented a car for less than a 100 something a day.
the depth and breadth of your knowledge is amazing!
WOW! I might be looking into this to go visit a friend upcountry! Great idea. Thank you.
I didn't realize New Zealand had a network of airports like the U.S. and the U.K. Good to know
Yeah though keep in mind a lot of small UK airports are RAF only. I do see private jets a lot though. I like stalking them on Flightradar😂😂
lol....like only english speaking countries exist?
There are jets all over the world that offer this wonderful service! No more commercial flights for me😊
It’s in the US. My flights from Cleveland to Las Vegas is like $42,000. 🤦🏽♂️. Cheapest I seen for any city was like $5K….this is clickbait
Tried Airble for flight from Portland to Phoenix. Cheapest flight listed was over $32K.
HOW has this not been in the US already? What a great way to treat yourself and save some money. I like it.
The Mulletude is approaching 9.9 my man.

You just launched that app success. No longer a corporate secret.
Respectfully, someone should have provided longer layers below the crown in the back or shortened the length. The lack of balance resembles a ladies shag cut. You are too adorable to be stuck with the stylist that did that to you.
Yeah, not rockin’ it 😕
I’ve been about to fly private a handful of times with the owner of the company I work for and it definitely makes my typical economy experience feel pretty terrible in comparison.
Of course i would see this after just booking 2 trips 😂 I love that apps like this are a thing now!
I have flown both. It's easier to fly private. Less stress. Treat yourself folks. Add it to your bucket list.
Back in 2010 i had a Vertu Ascent Ti phone and it had an app for a private jets that worked same way, you could get from Milano to Naples for 300 euro, and because it only worked for a Vertu owners there was always a free plane for that price.
Love the video. This Uber for planes concept is awesome. You keep coming up with new and interesting topics.
So cool! My husband is a pilot for a private jet company - definitely the way to fly!!
"Look like you belong..." - Sporting a mullet. Lol. Classic.
His hair is a disaster
Looks like everyone that downloads that app are disappointed and cant find any flights under $10-20,000. Dont waste your time guys.
The lowest I saw was 18k Atlanta ga to Macon ga! Less than 2 hrs away 🤦🏾♂️
So glad I saw this! I didn't even know these apps existed, and I've been looking for private travel options lately.
The travel mullet: business in the front, coach in the back.
@@D33Lux
Yup while that could also allow those charter airlines to do flights that are the same price per person compared to economy class non budget airlines! That’s of course as long as your group is just the right size to fill the flight! They might also be cheaper than commercial airlines when it comes to flying to more remote locations were commercial flights are otherwise really expensive like from any major city in Australia to Alice Springs for example! :)
@@D33Luxyea, but you neglected to consider range. On a NY to LA flight, you’d have to stop for fuel on the way, taking up to two hours to accomplish.
Apparently one of those planes actually broke the speed record for the fastest coast-to-coast flight of a turboprop.
While not actually a jet (turboprop), I'd chose the Avanti over a lear, etc... At least once.. I've been inside one at Austin TX) FBO and the interior was exceptional...
I had read about this type of travel years ago, then it just seemed to have died. Not sure why, but it's great to see that it may be revived. Thanks for the great video!
Got that Zack Morris x Mullet thing going on, that flight sounds crazy awesome.
This looks awesome! I didn't even know such an app existed! I definitely want to try it, especially since it saves a ton of money! Even better, it also completely eliminates the risk of having to sit through the extreme torture of being forced to listen to a crying infant for hours! Now my whole life is easier thanks to you!
It's only available in Canada.
0:01 starts of good, it isn’t a jet lol 😂 it’s a private plane
Those are technically her engines though
Tried looking at the app here in Florida, cheapest flight I found was 19,000

They should sponsor you. This concept is actually great.
I wondered where you were going next but wouldn't have guessed flying private. I'm glad you cover all aspects of travel.
Anywhere interesting, John!
Uber has extended its forms of transportation. This app is much needed.I am amazed at how quite the airport and airstrips is.
It's amazing Mike what you uncover! Keep up the great work!
Thanks Terry!
No security, no customs. Worked at an FBO for years and was lucky to fly private many times. It always sucked going back home on a commercial flight lol.
Love this! I'm part of the company that does the irrigation for Million Air. They're great clients and (being an avgeek) one of my favorite sites to work on :)
I’m always hanging out across the street at my buddies car restoration shop. That’s such a cool place to see jets. Lots of those Avelo planes lately.
Man its so awesome that you got to fly on a Piaggio Avanti. that aircraft is a masterpiece.
On this topic, I think JSX also offers somewhat of a similar service.
I absolutely loved this video! I’ve always wondered about flying this way and tried to imagine I could do it. With that app, I can!
Thanks
Oh if you're heading to the island and flexible with your dates, definitely check out the Deals page on the Airble app.
@@DownieLive Oh! I actually booked my ticket months in advanced. It's to get a better deal.
FYI: Canada only app. 😢, however... JSX is an option for states and Mexico. You're welcome 😊
Uhh… last time I checked, that P-180 of yours isn’t a jet but a prop. But its speed is compatible with various jet trainers such as those that are frequently used in air shows which is impressive!
This video was relatively short and sweet but what a cool mode of transportation indeed.
@@alec4672and the ni33a was right, the app is as expected, expensive as fccc, and you dont find routes😂😂😂
Great for short trips, but I’d probably pass out at the cost if they offered trans-Atlantic or trans-pacific flights.
The irony of an earth friendly sponsor, in a video promoting private jet travel. 🤣🤣

The Piaggio is my favorite plane, aside from the F14, but it is not a jet, it's a turbo prop.
A turboprop is a jet engine that turns a propeller. It's still a jet, just not a turbofan with an afterburner.
@@lambotama I'm glad you can use google. The engine on the Avanti uses the same principles as a turbofan. Whether it uses the exhaust to provide thrust or turn a propeller does not change whether the engine is jet powered.
Do your own research instead of looking silly online. OR don't, I don't really care. Just wanted to correct your mistake :)
Ok, I'll admit I haven't flown anywhere since 2002 😂 but this might actually want to try it!
Charters can be the best way to go... and if you pool with other family or friends you can go farther with about or in this case cheaper than most coach prices.
You can give up the reliability on the return flight costs and availability sometimes.
So I go to airble and check out a random round trip 1 hour flight and the cheapest one is $19,000 canadian. Great find bud.
For those that have never flown private - your supposed to tip your pilot or pilot's also.
Excellent work Malcom! I picked up the sensor when it initially was released and made a few cool projects. However I never made a handheld camera. I might have to give this project a try
What a cool concept! Almost seems overdue.
Did the $500 price include both of you, or is that the price for each?
It works in the US now but I don't see even regional flights under 19000 here, even in driving distance
Very cool service. Gotta use this for my son’s big 18th. Love the hair, it’s hilarious! 😂
I was super excited about this. Unfortunately, when i went to the website, they only had 3 deals listed and they were all at 30k. 😢
This is awesome. Is this an international app? I have only flown one time but flying private would be wonderful. Maybe I’d actually go places instead of driving hundreds and thousands of miles. As always thank you for taking me with you on your travels. I love Canada and it’s on my list to visit and maybe just stay.
Just stay? Doesn’t work that way.
It's not a PRIVATE JET!!! It's a turboprop plane!!!
A turbo prop is not a private jet. But that p 180 It’s still really nice
Lol at promoting an eco friendly detergent whilst also promoting private jets.
That scooter luggage totally stole the show. After looking it up I nearly forgot to come back for the main part of the vid😅👌

Hey rookie, stop calling that a private jet. You were getting a turboprop, and you seemed to get it after you met the crew and he told you about the Avanti.
One doesn't normally need noise-cancelling headphones on a pressurized plane, though turbo-props can be a bit noisy when they are in the normal configuration.
Thing is the pilot is 500 dollars alone per hour 😂😂
I realise that your justification for travelling private on this particular flight is that it was a deadhead, but is that the case for all flights on this app? If not, I don’t know if your argument holds up so well with how much you’ve promoted it…
This is awesome. Please post more like this. I want to know more specifically about chartering private jets.
I’m wondering if Europe has this? Sure would be convenient, & looks a million times better than commercial, even business. I think I was spoiled by watching this video! Thanks so much❤❤❤
