Whoever was smashing that burger should be banned from grill. STOP IT! The plane was pretty cool.
the fact he wasnt using anything to seperate it yeah i agree with u
Some people don't want as much grease?
@@rconger24there’s not that much grease in good burgers. Stop smashing and overcooking.
I fly out of PDK and have never seen that contraption out flying. That hanger costs more than the plane.
It probably doesn’t fly there cause it prob doesn’t had mode c or it operates under part 103. Then you can’t fly into class D.
how much is it ?
Same I’m also out of pdk it’s an amazing little airport
@@justanaverageaxolotl I'm in New Zealand and didn't know where on earth PDK was. The surrounding area looked beautiful with so much vegetation... Question, I noticed a clearing of trees for as far as the eye could see. Is there more to it than an elaborate fire break?
The title implies an aircraft similar or in the same class as your Cessna 150 but the barebones ultralight is not the same thing. Your plane has a certified Continental 0-200 in it. This, as you admit has a lawn-mower engine (at 38hp even more anemic than most powered kites that have a Rotax UL 80hp engine). Looks like a fun 'toy' designed to fly in the back country, but since its so underpowered, you may get stuck out there. For price compares, the Rotax powered-kites can be had from between $30k and $50k dependent on avionics and has two seats. This one starts at $40k which is around the price of a used Cessna and only has one seat.
Well said.
Damn, you have power flaps? When I was in Flight School I had to pull the E Brake looking stick to get flaps.😂😂😂
There's advantages to having manual flaps.
You have a beautiful 150. You never forget your first and I have fond memories of the '67 150 that I learned to fly back in 1972.
Ok grandpa
@@kevinplayz5511 Ok you young whipper snapper.
Following you on your flight ( to PDK ) was great ...it felt like being there with you ...very enjoyable...great footage, great views very immersive.....the Ruckus occupies only a small portion of your clip at the end....and that's great, 'cause as soon as I saw it, I was ready to hop back in your beautiful 150 for the flight back to LZU......😊
10:07 N5204U. That's the plane I did the bulk of my training as a student PPL. I also did my first solo with it.
No way! 💙
Where is the rest of the plane?
$40k for barely better than an ultralight? My C150 cost $18k. And I built a brand new Sonex for $32k, including brand new engine.
And a Ford model T cost $850 new. What’s your point?
@@Captndarty nice try, Red Herring.
Comparing Model T prices to modern car prices is irrelevant.
I bought my Cessna 150 only 3yrs ago. And bought the Sonex less than 2yrs ago. Tell me how that's not relevant to an overpriced $40k open cockpit 1-seat fat ultralight with a weed trimmer motor?
it seems overpriced, but i think the diffrence is that its new and built at their hanger/factory. cesna hasnt produced a 150 since the 70s. experimental aircraft are obviously cheaper, so are used aircraft, i this guy just spent a lot on his plane so thats why he is thinking this one is cheap, but i agree it defently isnt something that seems afordable to me comared to a lot of other options.
@@liquidcooled5108 nope. I bought a brand new Sonex and Aerovee for $32k, picked them up from the factory myself.
this one-seater fat-ultralight with poulini engine is not worth $40k, period.
I could build a 2-seat Pietenpol for even less than I spent on the Sonex. I could also build a Zenith CH650 for less than that.
@@SoloRenegade let’s face it. You’re cheap. Probably couldn’t even afford a model T back then or now🤣
I already have too much fun landing a Cessna 150f I fly for time building can’t imagine trying to land that pup
Fun video... and the 1976 150 that I owned 1/4 of brought me a lot of joy as I trained for my Private License in 1983. Keep in mind that "PDK" is for "Peachtree-DeKalb" Airport rather than "DeKalb-Peachtree" Airport... or it would be "DKP". Keep smilin'.
Thanks! And negative, it’s Dekalb-Peachtree 🙌🏼
How is any Cessna affordable? They are an over pushed, under performing aircraft is always way too expensive. You can step up to a 4 seat Stinson 108 for less than a C150/152. And the Stinson performs so much better.
I LOVED seeing your 150 at EAA, you're living the dream man!
I was there too
Hey. Just discovered you. One. Fun editing! Two. You AUDIO is so much more clear than other flying videos! How. Do. You. Do. It?
I think he's got a good separate mike.
First of all, that is a beautiful Cessna 150. My father would have loved it. His was your typical Red & White but he always loved Stainless, especially with the Mustang.
The experimental aircraft might as well be a Flying Wing. No shortage of Lift with that plane.
I love the 150. I had a '63 straight tail that just loved to fly and I miss her dearly. Yours is really nice! I like the unpainted wings!
(nice job, by the way)
I cannot believe the cessna shown in this video is affordable. Very nice. Thanks for the video.
1st time watching your channel. If you want a Tail Dragger, use the Tail Wheel STC and convert your C-150 to a Tail Dragger. That would cost much less than the $40K for that Ultra-light/LSA. Granted, I had more fun in the 7AC Champ but a C-150TD will give you MORE fun 🙂
Have maybe a few hours in a 150TD. Was a great tutor!
This 150 would look great and a taildragger!
That’s a pretty pristine 152!
Great video, as always. Thank you.
9:48 Brooo the look on his face got me laughing and balling my eyes out!
Thats one very pretty C150. Great video thankyou
Sweet little bird! But you can find a number of experimentals which cost less to own & operate particularly if they have alternative engines. Most of those which I personally wouldn't care to fly, but there are a couple which are both inexpensive and very reliable if built properly. Not everyone's cup of tea though.
I sure miss the 150 I had back in the 80's. Great video!!
Awesome video brother! Beautiful 150! Such a fun airplane to fly! Love the island hopping videos you felt like you had us there with you! Keep them videos coming!!
Thanks so much! We still have so much more St.Barts footage to edit! Coming very soon!!
That looks like an ultralight; not an airplane.
Personally, Your 150 is the epitome of affordability. and style. Probably the best 150 I've seen. You make me want to go fly..
No thanks, rather buy a C-150 which has some utility for the same price.
My C150 cost me $18k, and I built a brand new Sonex for $32k, including brand new engine.
@@SoloRenegade well the day of $18K C-150s is long gone. $40K is more like it. The Sonex is a cool plane, enjoy.
@@johnmajane3731 depends on who you know.
And I have plans for more planes like the Thatcher, CH650, Pietenpol, and more. Plans building saves even more money than kit building.
I completely agree as I think that's a lot of money for a few tubes and some fabric. I've noticed the airplane market has noticeably come down in price a lot in the last couple of years from stupid high prices and I think I'm ready to finally jump in.
Landing was smooth as glass!👍😁
Cool concept but for the money you can't beat the cruise performance of a canard #longez #varieze
Just started watching 20 mins ago, love the content. Subscribed.
So… good on you for getting tailwheel brotha! Going for mine too! So what id like to point out is this: the entire Minimax sand fisher flying products line up, the wittman tailwind, the thorp T18, the bushby/mustang aeronautics line up, most of the sonex line up and a few others are all more affordable than the 150. Plus, they’re experimental, so they still cost you less.
2 uploads in one month!!! we've been blessed!!!!!
That's GOT to be one of the prettiest 150s around!
One thing i know about PDK is a lot of PC 12s fly out of there and head head to KSSI a lot. It’s blue and white.
What about homebuilts like the Long EZ?
What a beautiful 150!
Looks like a fun summer toy.
If you ever get chance, give us your opinion on the Archon F1.Love that 150 though.
How did you mount your ram mount on the co-pilots side? Great idea!
So this was video of a plane that isn’t in production, that really hasn’t changed much since its years ago debut using mostly canned old marketing content. Riveting.
man i wish i could buy this plane. love seeing this cessna fly
u still need to get a private pilots license but hope you get it in the future
That thing looks like so much fun. ❤
Tailwheel is fun, it can get away from you fast so you learn to be super fast on the pedals, never slow! They call it Tap dancing on the rudders.
Beautiful 150! But all I can think about is that right wing gas cap going on wrong. Or maybe you’re doing it intentionally to use less right rudder lol.
Those Cessna fuel caps only twist 90 degrees so no matter which way you turn it, it’ll still wind up crossways… One is in line with the airflow and the other is cross… They’re almost all that way… my 172 is the same way
@@Timberns that doesn’t make sense. None of the Cessnas I’ve flown were like that. Not saying you’re lying. I just never seen it and doesn’t make sense to have it that way.
The Vernor Three cyl radial would be awesome on that.
Dude this LZU airport is 5 mins from my house...Nice to see a fellow enthusiast on here close by
What mount do you use for your insta 360 and how the heck do you keep it from overheating 😅?
Amazing - your hanger is so clean and so empty. Where are the chairs and desk for flight planning, refrigerator for cold water, case of oil, cleaning supplies, drain pan for oil, 5 gallon bucket, to hold used oil, light stands since the hangers never have very good lighting… The bicycle get to the restroom or your friends Hangar, the Motorcycle the battery tender the extension cords, and a box of your favorite cigars.
Great flight smooth landing and great camera shots
Thank you!!
hi :) love your vids
Hey at 8:31 I heard 703CA. I fly that plane sometimes :)
Ultralight looks like an air bike. I’d fly it.
feel like 40k is too much, at that point buy a j3 cub or aeronca champ
Great video mate and an excellent excuse to finish that tailwheel endorsement. Looking forward to the next videos. Cheers 🍻
Bro a butter landing Wow😮
KEEP THE 150!😅😊😮
I used to have a TEAM Airbike, looks a bit like that.
Looks like an AirBike.
You could teplace your oil drip pan with an air-oil seperator.
Cessnas are the only planes i know that the flaps are always lowered for preflight
I've skirted major cases of frostbite enough in my life.
Other than flying a DC 10 traffic pattern and slowing down to 75 on base leg, remember, other people are waiting to use the airport also, yet, there they are, waiting on you.
75 on base is a standard pattern in the 150 🕺🏻 And 65 on final
@@flymetothefun Its amazing that out of all the things this guy could say, its to say something like this. I NEVER have any issue with your flying, safety, or decision making. You are an excellent pilot. Just smile and wave. haha
Surely you meant $4,000 🥲
Hey your not to far from me! Also beautiful 150
Guess all us pilots have to own a black model Y
It’s a 3! Love it 🤘🏻
Looks like an “Air Bike”
Hey! Quick question, is it easier to push into the hanger or pull it out?
Pull!
@@flymetothefun maybe someone could donate a light duty electric towbar....
Dip sticks are fine but make sure you check your fuel level with your eye sight. Actually look inside your tank before each flight.
40k is insane for that.
Good video. Demerit for the Tesla though.
😭
You really need to get out more if you seriously think the rukus is the only thing more economical to own then your pretty little alcladless Wichita spam can.... in fact you can make a video series about it. By far the best bang for buck aircraft available for the price of your bird it the -22/ 150hp tripacer... faster, and hauls more, and is way more responsive and fun to fly! Other good options..... taylorcraft, ercoup, j3, champ, chief, pa 11, colt, even the 140, and the list seriously keeps going.... get some special ed little brother, friends dont let friends play with ultralights.... scooters and chubby chicks, don't go there
😊
Hey does anyone know what circle knob is in the front left upper windshield?
Fresh air vent!
How much?
Nickname that thing The Paper Clip 😅
Looks like a nice airplane for someone transitioning from the Paramotor world to a 3 axis ultralight. Fair weather flying with low crosswinds though. Up here in the Great White North 🇨🇦 we can go up to 1232lbs Gross Weight in an Ultralight although there’s lots of restrictions on mods you can do to the airplane. Better to get into Amateur Built (what you Americans call “Experimental”) and Owner Maintained. A nice clean used RANS S6S Coyote II will run you $35 - $40K USD up here and will give you great off-airport capability with either the 100hp Rotax 912 or 120hp Jabiru 3300 Engines. Nice flight envelope of 35mph stall to 100mph cruise. Also, unlike the Cessna 150, you likely won’t get a very nasty $$ surprise come Annual time 😳 There’s a guy in our Flying Club who thought he got a nice clean C150L until he got a $15K CDN bill on his First Annual ! Otherwise, nice Channel here - thanks 👍
I always found the word "experimental" to be incorrect, and borderline deceptive.
I was so excited to hear that the rukus had been resurrected. Then they announced the price. Total letdown. Really was hoping for an affordable backyard stol machine but not the case. Heck im only gonna have about 50 grand in my 701 and a least its capable of cross country if i want to. No reason they cant cut the price in half. They could sell thousands of them and make more in the long run. But its obvious they have no operating capital. Wish them well but this is a rich mans ultralight .
lol I bet my Glasair 1RG is cheaper to maintain than a certified 150
What about flights school?
We learned to fly with J-3 cubs. Only after time did you advance into the 150 or 172
$40K??! 😂😂😂
I BEG YOUR PARDON- $40,000 FOR THAT!?!?!?!?!?
id rather buy a 150
Let me save you the drudgery the airplane is a single seat Ruckus with a crappy 2 stroke engine on it.
😢. Fine if you never want to fly in a crosswind.
Scetchy
apples and oranges
100% - very different use cases!
Wow no way I’m first! I love your videos they are truly amazing and inspiring. Can I maybe have a pin plz?
im second, i love your videos
Why do you talk so fast in the US..?. It’s no wonder some pilots ask for the tower to repeat. None US pilots all say the same thing.
Looks like a glorified air bike. $40 grand? Better off to buy a nice 150.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
It’s an expensive piece of junk! The function & utility of this craft is virtually ZERO! Two runs around the patch much less flying a mere 25 miles anywhere freezing to death in that thing will bring the unfortunate buyer to the realization they horrific mistake!
You drive a Tesla. Used to enjoy your video's , didn't even watch the current video to completion. Unsubbed.
??
No thanks….still too expensive…..for $40K I think I would go for the Aerolite 103 fully loaded including a ballistic parachute for that same money…..
