We cover how to fit laminate flooring against a wall in this easy to follow video from our very own fitter. Laying laminate flooring can be tricky but you won't go wrong with our series of how to videos. Just follow the steps below:
    Tools Needed:
    A Pen or Pencil
    Pull bar or Mallet
    Jigsaw or Hand Saw
    Retractable steel measure
    Step 1. Reaching the wall
If you are laying a floor and reach a wall then don't panic. Make sure you use spacers. There are small plastic wedges that you can buy from any good hardware store, or included in most standard floor Installation kits. www.discountflooringdepot.co....
    Step 2. Flipping the plank
Flip your board so the fitting system needed to join the already laid flooring is against the wall.
    Step 3. Marking the length
Once in place, slide down to reveal the board that you will later be fitting up against. Make a small mark at the point where the board finishes. Measure the distance from the end of the board to you mark and make a note of this length. Move the measure down to the opposite edge and make a second mark at the same measurement. Using a flat edge or T-square mark a straight lien between the two marks.
    Step 4. Cutting to length
Using a hand saw or jigsaw cut carefully along the line.
    Step 5. Laying the piece
Check the size of the cut piece before attempting to lay. Now engage the long side against the adjoining board, bringing the short side against the board behind, as close as possible, and lower.
    Step 6. Pulling tight
Using the pull bar, put the short end over the part closest to the wall and using a mallet or hammer, tap the board until the short joint fully engages.
If you have laid all of your flooring and you you have come to the last run of boards, the same process is followed with just one simple addition.
    Step 1
Again, flip the board over and make a mark where the board beneath ends.
    Step 2.
Pull the board slightly back from the wall and make a mark where the previously laid board finishes.
    Step 3.
Using a straight edge or T-square join these makes up to show which areas need to be cut away to make the exact shape to fit.
    Step 4.
Using a hand saw or jigsaw, cut along the lines to give you your final piece.
    Step 5.
Making sure your spacers are still in place, check the size of the cut and follow the same laying process as before, using the pull bar and mallet or hammer to ensure a tight fit.
    Finishing Off
Once laid, remove the spacers and if used, fit your beading over the top, or re-place the skirting boards if they have been removed or if it's a new room and they have not been laid yet.
