'86 K5 here --- I re-flowed the solder joints in my module and it worked very well for a year. I have one more used module that I'll do the same thing, but I'll replace the capacitors first. I hear the caps die and then the wiper module dies too.
Ya, I already replaced the wiper motor and it didn’t fix. Then started checking the webs, seems to be a very common problem. Tearing the column apart to get to the switch is not fun.
I replaced my wiper switch without having to tear the column apart. Simply pulled it out, taped a piece of wire to the bottom, pulled it out and used the spare wire to pull the new plug down through the column...
I Must of been thinking ignition switch,. you have to tear the column apart to get to the one bolt that holds it in. Turn signal lever is the switch, my bad
I retract my statement, the actual switch is in the column. If you have cruise then you have the wire going through the column. No cruise no wire. The actual wiper switch is a in the column and a bitch. Take care

Do you want switch from 2spd to delayed wipers?
If you’re just looking for a delay, I believe that you just need the delay module and switch. Plug and play.
The 81 uses a different style delay unit, think this one is 85-89
cracked solder joint..
