Man do I love the non-reflective feel of a projection image. Like many I’m being tempted away to giant TVs making all the headlines lately, but there will always be something so seductive and immersive to me about a projected image. You just feel like you can fall into the image.
Good video. I had the 900 in for review and testing from Apr 4th to Apr 29th. It's a good unit. The latency is improved but only slightly so it was about a 2-3ms decrease from previous. Now ranging from 24ms to 38ms depending on resolution and frequency. Also just fyi DML (Display Mastering Luminance) is metadata that specifies the nit level of the reference monitor the film was graded on so if other metadata is missing it can use that to determine what level is used for tone mapping as well as look at both data points now if needed.
These are incredible projectors. Thank you for showing this for us! The 50% more contrast in one revision is incredible. Can't imagine the colors in person.
@@peakoil-ko5oq dude... he is literally looking at the output in the demo. Chris knows all the top brands and has had them in his house. Do you really think that having more cheaper lasers can out perform, because there are more of them? reeeeeeeeeeally?

Thanks for the video. Very informative. I may be in the minority but if I were buying today, I’d likely take advantage of the price discount on the RS4100/ NZ9 versus spending the extra money on the RS4200/NZ900. Just not enough here to feel it’s worth the extra money.
If your screen is 16:9 then the black bars top and bottom were indstinguishable from the black images on screen, so truly exceptional! If not then I would like to see the native black level of the projector.

Theater, with a 75” Sony x95k, I used to have a projector an optoma of some sort, but it has been a while since I used that in my old house, when I just played games like rock band in my basement… on the Xbox one which is old as well… and not 4K so hdr was worthless at the time…
JVC makes amazing projectors but there pricing is still way above most people's budgets. I get it they don't have the volume of sales to be able to turn a profit on quantity. Would love a JVC laser projector but pricing is too rich for my blood.
If you aren’t going over 125” screen size, just get a TV. Way less expensive. I have an 83in Sony OLED and I’m thinking about getting a Z7 or Z8 myself.
@@talo0o The lumen increase is one thing, but having a better contrast of 50% greater makes the picture far better than focusing on light alone. Lumens is a one trick pony if you ignore the elements that make a picture great.

I dont know. A big micro led isnt reflective and can dim individual pixels that projectors cannot. Id do that if i had the beans.

If you get a chance, compare the eshift from NZ9 to the NZ900 to see if it made a noticeable difference.

Good luck man. Jvc has been strategically dropping the price of the outgoing models and all are almost sold out.
Random check with two dealers today for another item and both have NZ9s. To your point, they won’t last long

its 16x9 you can tell by the kaleidescape screen
You can also just mask off the black bars so they don't show up on the screen

@theoM-bx31x No they are not. They dont need to be replaceable. They last over 20000 hours. The image chips would have degraded way before that time.
