don't get me started. we forgot i left a couple of boxes at my parents place and my mother found my gen one voltron lions, all fucking 5 and sold them in a garage sale before they moved.

Not Star Wars, but I still collect toys from my favorite toy collections, and if any of them go missing or get damaged by some brat with butter-fingers, someone’s gonna die.
My parents would never have done that, but my younger sister broke almost all of my Transformers and lost most of my accessories.

I actually had a use for Rose Tico. A Villain I created in 1973 had a Half Asian Daughter who was a bit on the plain side. Rose resembled what I kind of imaged that woman to look like. Only reason I bought her.

@@konstantinkoverchenko9587 Big Bad Toy Store has them at retail price, and actually had them on sale a few weeks ago. I ended up getting mine from them when they were on sale for 64$. Definitely well worth the money.

The Funko one killed me, in my country a lot of “collectors stores” have walls full of funkos and not Star Wars, go figure.
There was a place I used to go to all the time for transformers from almost every line, G1 to modern. Now, under new management, they like 2 whole walls of funkos and exactly 5 transformers, all of which are modern. How the mighty have fallen...

I know if I'm looking to buy a collectable I want a cheap bobble head that looks like a half melted Chibi version of a character and not a hight quality accurate version with actual detailing

What is it like for you to be married to a geek hobbyist? Just wondering because I'm a toy collector who lives alone but if I decide on having a girlfriend or wife somewhere down the line, I'm unsure how accepting they would be.

@@scorpionwins6378 I think there needs to be a healthy balance. And obviously that’s for you to ultimately decide. But I think if you are open and honest about your collection with your potential significant other and see where they stand on it is a great start! The biggest aspect is being forthcoming about it.
@@scorpionwins6378 maybe its less percentage idk, but there are plenty of women who are also geek hobbyists. As long as you dont prioritize your collection over paying the bills and necessities, if a partner can't accept a harmless integral part of your life they ain't for you.
After 2 divorces, 4 kids, and a long Army career I am now a proud 40 year old virgin. Nothing better to me then collecting childhood memories and holding them in my hands again. Happy collecting everyone!!

I have a friend who collect WW2 model kits. One day his visiting sister let her children into his man cave to play with the "toys". When he got home for work he finds his entire collection utterly destroyed. The sister said she will pay for everything. When she find out how much the "toys" worth she was shocked. The man is so broken he never wanted to have a children of his own.

You forgot my personal favorite: I had this super rare figure but it was stolen by a friend, broken by a sibling or sold in a garage sale by my parents, but I'm fine with it and I don't hold grudges. 😭😭😭

i am a 30 plus year toy collector but i have no actual toy collector friends, so i am not the only person that HATES Pops? i genuinely did not know that.
i will never not be glad that i am not a carded collector, i have bought carded figures before and they show up in a bubble mailer. luckily i was going to open them anyway.
i am almost at the "i dont need more action figures" point, but thats mostly because no one is making the figures i want any more. i only collect 18th scale and i dont like retro style gimmick figures.
uh, i actually do laugh when my non toy collector friends start telling me how much my collection must be worth and then lamenting on how rich they would be if they had just kept all those figures they use to have. people have a VERY incorrect perception of the value of the average toy collections, do not get into it if you are a greed motivated person.
