Just got mine for my 2010 sti. It’s pretty good. Fully agree with the reversing camera quality mine sucks now on the big display. And the dust! Was that from when it was manufactured or did it happen after the install?
Thanks for checking it out. It has slowly been getting dust in there somehow. It was clear when I got it. Oh well, still a good unit, might get another.
I just installed the idoing head unit in my 2018 STI & my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will connect to the android auto wirelessly.

@@evlx14 what model? I just ordered the latest 8gb ram model from iDoing directly, as no one locally in the USA sells that increased ram and storage model. Also happy to hear my S22 will be wireless android auto. 🎉
Does the dashboard display brightness knob affect the brightness of the head unit? Basically if you turn the lights on in the car will it automatically assume it's nighttime and go into lower brightness?
This is what I want to know.

@@TheSnarkMusic yeah I assume it does because that's kind of a core functionality of head units but I can't get confirmation of it, would suck if it stayed at full brightness at night

Why does it not work with stock USB ports?
There wasn't a connection for it, unfortunately.
Good videos (watched your install video, too). Do you think there's a way to seal the screen before installing, so you don't get the dust under the glass? I'm in Colorado and dust is going to be an issue.
Thanks for checking out the videos 🙌. You may be able to run some black RTV gasket maker around where the glass meets up with the rest of the unit's bezel. I haven't heard of others having the dust issue that I had. I'm thinking that I got unlucky on my particular product.
@@evlx14 FYI, I bought mine from JDMuscle and they took care of all the options. I got a plug and play system, with all the necessary add-ons and harnesses. Also having issues with the Android Auto Wireless. Hopefully I can get on top of that!

So I also have a 2016 STI Limited with HK + Nav... my problem is the HK amp burned up and I don't know what to do now. The stock head unit still powers on but I have no sound. Was looking to replace everything in the car but don't know about wiring. Any thoughts?
How do I get RUclips to play video? Mine only plays audio
I have the unit but the issue I have is the backup camera clarity is horrible and no setting to adjust it.
Me too. I believe it's because the Subaru camera is low resolution and it looks terrible on a big display.
Make sure if your lights are on during the daytime that you increase your car's dashboard brightness to full otherwise the camera is going to be in lower brightness mode.
You should be able to replace the Subaru Camera with a better one using the existing wiring.

Hey question i instaled the indoing and my rear speakers basically produce no sound at all and the passenger speaker is obviously louder than the driver speaker. I have the Harman Kardon package and hate to say it that Head unit sounds better. I reached out to Idoing and they said that was normal not being able to control the back speakers
I’m not getting any sound from my headunit, any ideas?
Does this unit increases the quality of the audio compared to the stock one?
The Harman Kardon speakers are pretty great in my opinion to begin with. This unit may have higher wattage capability but I didn't notice a significant difference. Still very good. Thanks for checking out the video 🙌
@@evlx14 Thank you! I have the harmon kardon as well and noticed at higher volumes the bass was lacking, but it could just be my ears! Did soundskin deadening and that made a big difference! Just ordered one of these tho! THanks for the video!
@@evlx14 Great video, thanks. I have a customer considering this unit and your video helped me get more familiar with it. And, higher wattage from the head unit doesn't matter with the h/k system anyway. Think of this (or any aftermarket) radio's speaker wire outputs as essentially just high-voltage RCA outputs (10+ volts) feeding the amplifier a clean music signal. The h/k amp will ultimately still put out the same power, but just may do so sooner (at a lower numerical volume) because this radio is feeding it a higher-voltage, clean input signal (not sure if the OEM head does any sort of "rolloff" or not, or if that processing is done in the h/k amp). The EQ and any DSP this radio has allows for better sound shaping than OEM, so it may sound better and somewhat "louder" in the end because of that. Cheers!

Will it work with an HK audio system?
Yes. You need to buy the iDoing decoder that goes with this head unit. I got both on AliExpress.

only what I hate on OEM multimedia is touch sensitivity. it is a disaster.... this thing with dust is a big issue with iDoing
Dust on mine is a major disappointment. Considering trying my luck again with another one. Other features are pretty good overall.
That dust under the glass would kill me.
Yeah, it's been super disappointing. I think I got unlucky with my unit. I'm debating replacing the whole thing.

If you close off the mic and reset hole the dust won't creep in the screen
