The Nintendo 3DS is a handheld game console produced by Nintendo. The console was announced in March 2010 and unveiled at E3 2010 as the successor to the Nintendo DS. The system features backward compatibility with Nintendo DS video games.
The PlayStation Vita (PS Vita, or Vita) is a handheld game console developed and marketed by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It was first released in Japan on December 17, 2011, and in North America, Europe, and other international territories beginning on February 22, 2012. The console is the successor to the PlayStation Portable.

Last year I first got a PS Vita and then I got the Switch Oled.
Yesterday I got a 3DS XL, I'm the happiest person in the world.

am i the only person who loves the 3D effect on the 3ds? it was NEVER a novelty for me. it was my FAVORITE way to play games

Same! It feels like it adds a whole new level of immersion to a lot of games. I hope one of these days we get a decent Virtual Boy emulator on there to play those games in 3D.
I never used it to play games, but I did love using it for cutscenes in games to make them that much more special

Ps vita is tons better for me. It depends on the games you wanna play. Im not that interested on Nintendo games, but even if i wad i could play so many Nintendo games on the vita. The 3ds just doesn't give you that option, if you're not a big fan of Nintendo games, you're stuck with it . The vita is just more active.
Exactly, really just depends if you like Sony or Nintendo IPs better.

As someone who wants to mod their vita, i didnt see a really good reason to even have adrenaline on my vita if the vita can already have psp/ps1 games on the homescreen and play them straight from there. So i asked some ppl on reddit and discord and no lie...someone in the discord im in figured out how to put the psp/ps1 games onto the regular vita screen and play them from there instead of having to use adrenaline

Honestly being able to jailbreak the whole device with no computer but still need one to download games is stupid

I modded my old 2ds from 2013 last year. I was very happy with modding it, was going to get the N2DSXL but I saw a video about the Vita. Just ordered a Vita a couple of days ago, planning on using it for psp and ps1/2 emulation. And to mess around with it. But 2ds is still a good console to mod with. I was able to get FNAF 1-4 running pretty smooth on the 2ds.
I use my modded ps vita with my modded ps3. I like to do remote play a lot on the vita since it works so well. But ive been thinking about getting a 3ds. Nintendo’s exclusives are very fun.
Both are definitely worth having

Great video comparison! I have both, I prefer PsVita, but 3DS is also great as I'm a fan of pokemon and zelda titles and these DS/3DS can't run on Vita even with overclock, Vita screen is much better, though 3ds has the cool 3d effect... I still play the SNES / GBA titles on Vita because I wasn't able to make Retroachievements feature to work on 3ds's Retroarch homebrew, otherwise I'd run these on 3ds as well

As a person who have both modded, the only use for the 3ds is playing 3DS and DS, the vita play every thing else.
In term of games both are nearly the same but in term of design I like vita's design, feels more solid.
The vita is just amazing and so easy to mod, but I recently bought a OG 3ds out of curiosity. Just to see what is happening on the other side of the fence.

@@Gloryboyquankeep telling yourself that lol. Vita library is weak. 3ds library literally has so many gems. The 3d cannot be replicated with emulators. An emulation device like ayn Odin or steam deck can do everything the vita does and replicate the experience perfectly

I have both and modded both. I tend to go through phases where i favor the Vita for awhile and then ill favor the 3DS. Both are great but the Vita wins hands down

Always had them both next to each other. I love both systems. I can’t decide which I like better as the vita is the better system for jRPGs and the 3DS has more variety.

The variety factor has to go with the Vita. I have both. I modded both the 3DS and 3DS XL for my kids and the Vita for myself. These 2 are far from being outdated. Objectively, the Vita was years ahead of its time.

Depende del tipo de juegos que te gusten. Para emular la Ps vita tiene mas opciones, con el retroarch tienes un monton de antiguos arcades. Yo ahora estoy descubriendo los juegos de la 3ds y me gustan mucho, y son muy jugables. Algunos con la vision 3d estan muy logrados. Creo que soy mas de Nintendo, y ahora estoy disfrutando un monton con la 3ds, aunque tenga menos opciones para emular, y los graficos sean peores y mas pixelados.

@@enriquemejia5861 De precio si, y de prestaciones, pues la pantalla debe ser mejor en la new3dxl y cargan los juegos mas rapido. Vamos, yo estoy muy contento con la 3dxl, solo si quisiera hacer un gasto fuerte me compraria la otra. Y teniendo la 3dxl, no merece la pena comprar la otra.

I can use my phone to emulate all the way up 2 ps2 but i can't emulate 3ds on my phone. That's why I chose the 3ds. Plus my girlfriend has a modded 3ds so we can play together and have a lot of fun.

Citra is very compatible. My s23 Ultra runs Pokémon US and UM at 100% along with smash as well.
@user1hdud62htus I'm sure my phone can do it but I want the 2 screens and I use the 3d effect on certain games. Which my phone can't do.
@@carlosbarraganrules Citra has the 3d effect built into it. I can see why the 2 screens is a must though. because when on the phone no matter what, you have to compromise screen space.

At the time, 3D made a short come back. You needed some expensive 3D glasses if you wanted the full effect. The 3ds gave us glasses free 3d and the new 3Ds improved on it.
I have the 3ds on max always, no clue how you cannot have it on all the time, nothing ever has been so fun.
Nintendo always thinks outside the box and gives us fun and impressive features.
I would hate for them to just give a standard console it would be a shame.
Vita is OK. Get a miyoo mini + or an emulator for less money.
Vita has an ugly outdated OLED screen, old tech.
I would buy a Vita refresh in an instant if Sony updated the internals and screen to a more modern HDR OLED.
1 think the Vita did that I feel Nintenso should do of the ability to play PS3 at home, then continue on the Vita same progress same save this is amazing.
Nintenso should release a switch lite oled with 1080p 60fps.
Then a dock that is a standalone console with 1440p 60fps.
Like the wii U but fully wireless, neither needs the other.

@Gloryboyquan there both equal and to put up with the vita use the new 3ds xl and ngl the 3ds has more homebrew apps but the psvita is easier to mod so 🤔
@Winsicole no it doesn't actually...Homebrew more robust on vita thats s fact u can do so much more den on 3ds both good systems tho
@Gloryboyquan yeah you mod you vita via the browser but the thing about portable consoles is which is more portable (it's obvious) but both are good im thinking of picking up a homebrewed 3ds

The 3DS definitely can play PS1 games using retroarch. I've been playing the Spyro trilogy at full speed on my new 3ds XL
90% of games aren't full speed, that's why I didn't even mention it.
Nah, flip that. The spyro trilogy and crash trilogy are some of the most taxing games on the PS1. If the 3ds can run those well (which it can, but not perfectly. I can attest to that. I have played Tekken 3, spyro 3 and crash 3 on the system) then you are looking at 90% of the library that is at least playable. I don’t know if periods of frame dips for some games completely nullifies it’s ability to play PS1 games.
Plus, the 3ds’s appeal does not have to do with how well it can emulate. It has to do with how authentically it can play certain games. Specifically in regard to DS and 3DS games and specifically how hard it is to replicate the experience on different hardware (namely PC). The vita for example already has a lot of its library ported and not much of the experience is lost by emulating the vita on a PC. The same thing cannot be said for the 3DS.
Edit: Also, if you were being consistent, you wouldn’t have mentioned that the vita could emulate Dreamcast games. The 3DS can definitely emulate PS1 games better than the Vita can emulate Dreamcast games.

Mine is "100% speed, no slowdowns, no graphical glitches", and to that standard, 3DS can't play most PS1 games.

I like the Vita more, i played a lot on the psp. I'd lose it then find it and just play need for speed or god of war for ages
The 3ds is really cool but ive never been able to get into retro games as much as ive tried, it just doesnt stick with me, except Pokemon but everybody likes Pokemon

Both are good, but if you just have money to choose one, pick up 3DS first
