For me I have my vita with a 400gb memory card for playing ps vita, psp and ps1 and other retro games like gb,gba,gbc,sega,snes,n64 and I have my decent strong processor of my phone to emulate gamecube, wii, ps2,3ds,ds and a liitle switch games. It depends on the preference of the person. For me, I'm fine with the setup I have.
The Vita is a great handheld, yes a phone can emulate better and faster but not everyone wants to carry a controller around. This play ps1, psp, vita and retro games awesomely and have some awesome ports. And I have found many used in awesome condition from $100- $215 you need to shop around , still use this handheld quite often and recommend people to try it out before turning it down especially if you get it for s good price. And the prices I’m speaking about are the non hacked vitas bc hacking it is so easy now
You’re absolutely right in retrospect I do feel a little bit bad for being so negative in the video about the vita towards the end no, I do still stand by it my opinion stated in the video, I did neglect to mention the amount of crazy android ports. I only touched on sonic mania for one of the ports, but just the sheer breath of android ports on the Vita is astounding, and I wish I had address that in the video.
I bought my Psvita 2000 in the box for $150 at my local store! I don't have any problem emulating the games I like ! PC1, pC2, PC3 games run amazing! In the Vita , GB, GBC, GBA, NeoGeo etc ! I definitely recommend the Psvita 100%!
It definitely is a matter of what you want to do with it. For me, the Vita is the way to go. Nice and small and runs all my favorite Playstation stuff... which I prefer the most, but I do like some of the retro stuff it can run too. I even play old-school Commodore 64 games on it. lol
This vita is way better than an android phone, at least you have physical buttons and joysticks, rear touch capabilities, the battery life would beat a phone for just gaming, it’s a way better choice if gba games interest you and you’re not expecting to run full ps2 games. I’m surprised by its capabilities. My hands down favourite portable console
Yeah, unless you already have one, your better off buying a phone with at least 4x a77 cores (865 snapdragon - dimensity 1300). I still have mine for vita games, it's still going to be years before vita3k has "acceptable" performance without crashing. And most of the games have been ported to other platforms, PC a lot, though not many acceptable PC handheld solutions that are as convenient as vita. Even psp games look better with ppsspp especially 3d models. Though I find the controls to be pretty nice imo.

I bought mine for the novelty, the ergonomics/controls, and because I was really interested in showing off to people, being able to hack/mod an OEM handheld. PSP & Vita games are awesome on this, and I always wanted to try games for those two systems. The homebrew scene is also very cool. BUT. For 2023 standards this thing is simply underpowered, especially if we're talking emulation performance. Throw any 3D console at this thing and it struggles, HARD. It can't even handle all of SNES properly 😐 RUclipsrs have been grossly overrating this device, making lots of people flock to it, inflating the price. We need more objective and realistic opinions like yours out there.
