Both these consoles are so goddamn great and still hold up to this day. Don't get me wrong, the Switch and Steam Deck are cool but I prefer having handhelds that can actually fit in your pocket.
man couldn’t have put it in better words, while yes they are way more powerful they are super clunky, eventually we will get to small and powerful but that may be a while
Oled steamdeck over the legion all day. Legion is like carrying a brick no thanks. I don't give a rats ass how powerful it is. Oled steamdeck is the best for bang for our buck. Second would be the modded ps vita and modded 3DS. Then tons of emulator hand heads according to budget and its perks. These like Asus rog and legion are just overrated. Especially the legion and its price and its obnoxious size. Asus rog and legion battery are bs, steam deck oled is not as powerful but it gets the job done on many levels and price and repairs is top notch, compared to when Asus rog and legion breakdown. I took back both rog and legion after 6 days both times. Oled steamdeck is the quietest and has best battery.
the real selling points here are the exclusive emulators. vita has the commodores and sega saturn, but the 3ds has n64 and the authentic ds mode and actual 3d virtual boy that doesn't kill your eyes
Personally, I’d choose Vita everyday of the week since I’ve always preferred Playstation’s games more. It would be cool to get a 3DS someday. This year might be the year I finally mod one of my handhelds haha. Sick video as always and last night’s game sesh was fun man!
Yeah the Vita is definitely more my style but if you can get a 3DS for cheap go for it. Might as well mod a psp or vita since it’s so easy man! Always fun playing bro, looking forward to zombies or hopping on some ps3 games online too!
Mostly interested in getting a Vita to play Monster Hunter Frontier private servers. Because I miss 4U online on the 3DS and pretendo doesn't support it yet.
Pretendo seems to be nice so far it just sucks Nintendo took the official servers down. Mario Kart 7 for example seemed to be super active online still
Toughest call, they don’t have a lot of overlapping content, so ideally both would be good. They just have different kind of games, so I think it all comes down to what type of games you like to play.
The 3ds library is better than the PsVita library hands down, but the PsVita can play every PlayStation game from ps1-ps5 through ps3/4/5 connect play, and downloading eboots/ISOS. The modding community is better on the vita. I like the two screens and being able to play a plethora of Nintendo games on the 3ds. I can play NES-N64 games on the vita though thanks to the aforementioned modding community. It’s a tough call tho, I have several of each and I find my using the vita mode but I’d pick the 3ds if I had to make a choice.
I’m Team Both! I have a Vita oled and a New 2DS XL. They’re both awesome for different reasons. Vita: Power, more homebrew variety, better screen 3DS: Better 1st party, clamshell design. Many more benefits to both but too much to type lol
Vita! PSP plays natively since it has psp hardware inside the vita. You have the entire library of ps1, psp and vita on the palm of your hand without any issues. The portability of it is just wonderful, I always carry the vita anywhere than my switch or 3DSXL since it has MvC3 almost a 1:1 port of the ps3 version. The fighting game library of the vita is top notch. Also incase you have analog problems, the vita's analog sticks can easily be replaced.
Personally, I would argue that the libraries are about as large and good as one another's, it's just that the Vita has no marketing in the West so people keep thinking under of had no games.
In my opinion I plan on going with a 3ds just because the emulation process for the ds+3ds library just don't play well on pc, not so much performance wise but more so the whole dual screen/clam shell design.
@@FranchisePlayyer plus even when some systems can emulate ds/3ds very well it's more of a nit pick than anything having to constantly switch out screens for some games, funny enough the vita is most likely one of the best options due to the touch screen
The fact that jak and daxter doesn't run very well but the other collections do is just insane to me I mean how hard is it for that but it can run the metal gear solid collection really well
I've had both since 2012 and I loved my time with them. There are times when I'd play my Vita more and other times my 3DS and vice versa. The one thing I've always loved about the Vita was its display. I also wished the Vita had gotten more support and more games. I was more annoyed that the Vita got a lot of the same games as the 3DS instead of the console versions as often times these games didn't push the Vita at all. Although some games were just flat out better on the Vita like Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed. I had that game on Vita and Wii U and I always gravitated to the Vita version because it's visual compromises weren't that bad compared to the Wii U and the game ran well. The 3DS version was not good as I tried it via the eShop Demo
I bought a Vita 1000 model for cheaper than any clamshell 3ds. Replacing the battery was easy, buying a cheap grip was worth it, retroarch runs well, overclocking is a plus, honestly adrenaline has way too many bugs, best of all is getting to play a tony hawk game on the go. When I had a 3ds I never got the chance to mod it and regret it. I choose the vita since I own it, bad answer, but that's just how it is I appreciate all the porters and modder for it
The 3ds is the better value since 99 percent of the Vitas library has enhanced editions of most games with additional content on PC, switch, ps4/5. I wish I didnt give my 3ds away. I am enjoying the small amount of games the vita has those thanks to pkjg especially the musou ones.
I got both a New 3DS XL and a PS Vita 2000, and I'd definitely go for the 3DS. The Vita is still great tho, but the 3DS games just make the decision easy for me.
I can't pick whichever one is better since both are great handhelds that offer forms of gameplay the other simply lacks. 3DS has 3D, dual screens and a pretty robust library. Vita has really crisp graphics, touch screen and pad, and while having a modest library of games, the majority of those can be compared to console titles. I have both and have sank hundreds of hours into both and will continue to do so. I might look into Pretendo at some point and I hope after Sony shuts down online for the Vita, we get a Pretendo for the Vita. Just my two cents.
I had a PS Vita from back in the day before Sony killed it and also recently modded it, never had a 3ds XL, but man does it look like a monster also when modded.
I had the 2ds xl for around 2 years but I realized that I didn't really like the 2ds xls screen resolution, nor the games so I sold it. I've just ordered a ps vita 2000, I hope I will like it better
Both these consoles are great, but you can’t really compare them. In my eyes you can never compare Nintendo with the other gaming companies, since they are so exclusive. If you like Nintendo games, get a modded 3DS. If you like PSP games, get the PS Vita. But if you have a switch and want to play several Ds ports without paying the whole price, get a 3DS and mod it. Would be cheaper than to get 4 or 5 of these ported games. And you can play the good Pokemon games
@@FranchisePlayyer the vita is way more powerful and uses a more easily replacable charging cable. After that, the vita has better screen better stick control and obviously better games (if you are above 12 years of age). On the vita i frequently add more games and delete others to make space. On the 3ds the space is half full. Crappy games. I don't sell the 3ds just for the 3d novelty even though i rarely use it to play games. There is no comparison in terms of build quality. If there wasn't stupid sony to dump the vita in terms of games there would be no comparison at all. In retro simulation theres no comparison at all. I use it daily to play mostly amiga and psp games (winuae and adrenaline). The 3ds gathers dust
I had both of these handhelds modded and honestly the vita is just way better. The 3ds just falls short when it comes to raw power, and it feels like a incomplete console.
