Or retreat to my man cave and play PC. Psvita is great to pick up and go. Usually sits in sleep mode around the house and battery barley drains.
I love my Vita as well but I also have a recommendation if you have a large Steam library and you want portable gaming, absolutely get yourself a Steam Deck or any handheld PC. There are a lot of Steam games what aren't on the Vita but of course PS Vita exclusives or games what released only on PlayStation PS Vita + PS3 or PS4 are best to be played on the Vita! Make no mistake this is nothing against the Vita I still love my Vita. I usually jump between multiple systems, PS Vita, DS, 3DS, PC, Steam Deck, Wii, PS3, PS2, PS1...

I plan on buying it sometime after once I stabilize myself from the money pit. Even been looking into the Odin 2 for emulation. Really been enjoying playing older games lately.
You can delete all previous player’s trophy data and start anew with your own progress by inserting the cartridge, tapping and holding the game icon and selecting delete/uninstall. Remove the game cartridge and then put it back in again, and everything will start fresh, like it’s new. I figured this out a while back but clicking and tapping around, but I guess it might still not be common knowledge. Hope this helps.
I take my Vita to work with me nearly every day. It's far more pocketable than many other modern handhelds, and many of the systems features have aged very well so far. Great battery life as well.
Exactly for me as well, playing it during lunch breaks. Standby battery or sleep mode is just awesome, it just doesn't drain battery, like Steam Deck and way more pocketable
Definitely jailbreak it it's totally worth it!!! I have three of them now, 2 LCD models & and OLED!! the OLED is a 256 GB Red, & the two LCD's, one is Blue(Non-modded..yet) & the other is a Red & White 512GB & both of the Modded ones have so much stuff!! Definitely worth I!
You need to mod your Vita in this day and time. I modded mine last year and it has been a great experience. I’m also collecting as many physical games as I can in the Same time
I will have to dislike the video for the simple reason that nobody can make a video talking about VITA without at least glimpsing a bit about jailbreak.
If it wasn't for the Vita, I would have never experienced one of my favorite stories about growth set in one of my favorite worlds. The Muv Luv Trilogy is absolutely phenomenal.
I have the games on physical cartridge, and I haven't played them yet. Years later. I'm glad you have offered praise. I'll have to get to it soon. Maybe after that one House of Fata Morghana or whatever... Been playing PS1 classics a lot lately, and finally making my way through the FF series from 3-7 and 9. Gonna start V soon. Hacked my Vita about 5yrs ago now and sold off my collection of around 40+ games. Probably tripled if not quadrupled what i originally paid for them
Prices for physical games have gone down a bit again. Games like Danganronpa and Trails of cold steel used to go for 120 dollar, where you can get them now for about half or even less. Probably has to do with the fact that most games are ported to other platforms in the meantime
so glad you brought up Danganronpa, another thing to add is that you can pop 3 platinums on PSvita vs only 2 if you play the Danganronpa collection on ps4 or ps5. the first two games are considered one game for whatever reason.

I finally got around to buying a Vita OLED in March, mainly because I wanted to play Txk, which is amazing and a lot more fun than Tempest 4000, which is based on it and now on all sorts of platforms. I didn't buy a Vita when it came out because of the memory cards, but that problem has been fixed by the community, and I think it's great. I travel a lot for work and I have been bringing my Vita with me instead of my Switch or Steam Deck just because I don't have to take it out of my bag at the TSA checkpoint.

Arkham Origins Blackgate is great but I found it to be VERY difficult. I bought an OLED 3G model and used it as recently as today. Love the varity of content, VITA originals, PSP game and PS2 and PS One originals. Golden Abyss and Hot Shots Golf were always two of my favorites. Great video, thanks.

Used to enjoy the vita when I first got it but then Sony stopped supporting it and games got cancelled 😤😐my favourite handhelds now are rog ally and switch
My husband and I both picked up Vitas last year. I got the silver OLED imported from Japan and I love it, my husband picked up the metallic blue one at a convention. Haven’t put too much time into the console yet bc I simply have too many hobbies but I’ve enjoyed my experience with it so far! As a fan of Little Big Planet I really liked Tearaway. I picked up Persona 4 Golden and when I get around to playing it that will be my first Persona game 😄.
Hopefully you pick up the criminally underated LBP title for the Vita, has some great niches, and is overall a great entry in the series. Tops the third LBP game easy, for me.
4 ps vita and growing. Only two physical disc though. Hope I can find affordable games on my area. The prices are very expensive. I love playing physical games now than before after experiencing unlimited library, I learned that slow game building gives more anticipation and excitement.
This video is coming about a month after I decided to buy a refurbed Vita again lol. It’s really such an amazing machine. I loved it when it came out and I’m still loving it today.
As a handheld fan, having a modded Vita and 3DS with their best games makes it hard to buy new expensive consoles. Still so many gems and titles I’m discovering and playing for 8+ years
i bought a vita a little less than a year ago and i’ve been able to beat 20 games that have been sitting in my backlog all during my breaks at work 🙏🏻 thank god for having a job i can be lazy at.
22:34 Is this how you were playing for the Dissidia video the other day? Smart, that's how I'm also playing it now! Vita really "living" up to its name in 2024!
I love my Vita. I mostly got it to play the definitive (imo) editions of the first 5 Trails games, but I've since enjoyed plenty of other games on it that further justify the purchase: Gravity Rush, DQ Builders, Monkey Ball, the Sly games. Eventually I want to get around to playing other stuff on it like FFX/X-2, Ys, Dangan Ronpa, and the 999 trilogy. It's also my goto device for Retro Achievements. Wish RetroArch on it could handle PSP/DS games though. That would make it perfect.
Apologies, not trying to be that guy, but ratchet collection absolutely released in NA. I worked at gamestop when the vita released, I was a day one adopter. Also just mod your vita, it's the best handheld made better modded
Still find it ironic that for a console called a vita which means life Sony pretty much killed it but stopping supporting it, still great portable device though still use my oled vita
A lot of comments about not touching the vita for ages and then breaking it open and loving it once more - totally in the same boat. Completely mismanaged by Sony, we as consumers took the reigns and the system is honestly flourishing in this 2024. Funny enough, I'm currently playing P4G XD
Happened to me with me psp a couple years ago. Took it out of my closet only to find the battery about reayd to blow up lol. Now my psp battery cover has a slight bend to it because of that
I bought my Vita back when I was in the Philippines with my girl a few years ago. I'm going to be honest I haven't played it much since I bought it but I almost forgot that I had it and I started playing freedom wars again and I forgot how kinda good it was. This will be a system I'll pick up and play every Blue Moon. Because of the PS5 and the switch that I'm about to get in the next 2 months. I'm bringing my vita with me this summer when I go see my fiancee.
You can still get achievements in previously owned games. You install the game by putting in the cartridge. Then you delete the game on the Vita. You pull out the cartridge and put it in again. You install the game again. After that you can earn achievements in that game.
The Vita is my favorite handheld. The OLED screen is gorgeous and the fact that you can play PSP and PS1 games on it means it has a massive library. I don't trust Sony to keep the PSN servers operating forever, so I pre-emptively downloaded every Vita, PSP, and PS1 game ever made for all regions and backed it up. Some of my favorite games not mentioned in the video: - Dragon's Crown - Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational - Killzone: Mercenary - Muramasa Rebirth - Soul Sacrifice - Toukiden: The Age of Demons - Y's: Memories of Celceta - Y's VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana
Where do you download the ps1 games from? I’m in uk and for some reason there are a total of 7 ps1 games on the ps1 🤨🤔 I remember when there was a full a-z
One of my best friends gave me his Vita that he didn't want anymore a few years ago, and I jailbroke it and it's something I always take with me when I travel. I used to dream about being able to have a ps1 collection of rpg's that I carried with me and now I do. The Vita is an awesome little handheld machine
Love my vita, got mine in 2015 from gamestop just so I could play my childhood games (the jak and daxter series) on the go. Not the best ports of those games but played the hell out of them as well as R&C, sly, uncharted, and much more. Honestly my favorite handheld other than the 3ds. Great video🙏🏼
I absolutely adore the vita, it’s become my all time favourite handheld. And after I softmodded it and installed an SD card adapter, it has open the flood gates to a whole slew of experiences, mot notably the ability to run the vita in a virtual psp mode and play almost the entirety of the psp library
I loved the gyro aiming on certain Vita titles like Uncharted. I used the sticks for aiming the cross hairs in the general area and then fine tuning with the gyro controls.
Best portable system ever (the 2000) with mods. It was and still is way ahead of its time, and others could only try to emulate (steam deck, switch). The difference was that Steam Deck is a powerhouse with a built in system for playing games (steam) and the Switch heavily focused on bringing games to the masses, while SONY abandoned the VITA, like they did with PSVR 1 and now 2. They should get back in the game. My Ps Portal is where I do all my PS5 gaming for months now, comfortably tucked in bad after a long day of work.
Still amazes me that such a powerful handheld device like the the vita doesn’t require a fan to expel heat and even had its own fully 3d assassins creed game in liberation I would say it is still is such a great cool looking device still have my oled one
I've had a Vita since 2016, and while I don't play handheld consoles a lot nowadays, I always come back to the Vita. Especially now that I have jailbroken mine. I've ran homebrew on it, emulators, and even an english translation patch for Phantasy Star Nova which is an excellent game by the way if you like Phantasy Star Online 2. On its own, I love the Vita, but it became one of, if not, my favorite handheld once I did the jailbreak on it.
My aim is also terrible on uncharted. Uncharted is the sole reason why i got my vita a month ago. Got 10 games with it. 1. God of War Collection 2. Uncharted golden abyss 3. Nfs most wanted. 4. Sly cooper thieves of time. 5. Fifa football. 6. Rugby 15. 7. Batman Lego 8. Batman arkham 9. AC Liberation 10. Cod Classified sum sum
PS Vita is my favourite handheld. I have over 500 games for it and it's my go to when travelling. It's a shame it didn't have stronger support, but there is definitely no shortage of games available for it! Also, who doesn't love trophy hunting while on the go?
It's fine if more people can play the games you like on other consoles. You are not wrong to like the Vita but it's a dead console. I still love PS1 but I don't expect other people buying a PS1 to play FF7.
@7DragonEyes7 nah its not bad at all, just makes the vita sorta irrelevant since the switch is getting them all. Trophies on the vita are still pretty nice though, as well as being able to have a screensaver.
Just bought a white oled 1001 model off marketplace for 80 bucks canadian. Jumped on it right away, and it's near flawless. It was hacked, but I removed it, I got it for trophy hunting and chill gaming. Loved the video, I'm excited to go game hunting for this thing
One really good thing about the PSVita slim, if you're into modding is that you can replace the microsub with a USB-C connector. One thing i would recommend everyone if you don't really like having 300 cartridges is to install CFW and get one of those SD2Vita adapters and pop in a 256gb or bigger SD card in it.

I just played FF7 on vita for the first time. You can always wirelessly transfer saves to PS3 for that sudo switch experience as well
Fun fact, if you have one you can also transfer the memory card directly from your Vita to the PSTV for another proto Switch style experience.
I actually got a PS Vita slim blue earlier this year. Even though I don't play it that much, it's so aesthetically pleasing.
I have been watching you since the fallout 4 days. You are my favorite youtuber ever man thank you for being you.
I got the metallic red imported from Japan. Did u ever figure out how to switch the x and o buttons?
Hopefully you pick up the criminally underated LBP title for the Vita, has some great niches, and is overall a great entry in the series. Tops the third LBP game easy, for me.
@@LuxuriaU good to know! I do have Little Big Planet for the Vita but haven’t made time to play it yet
The most underrated system ever! I love my vita and still play it regularlu
what u play
4 ps vita and growing. Only two physical disc though. Hope I can find affordable games on my area. The prices are very expensive. I love playing physical games now than before after experiencing unlimited library, I learned that slow game building gives more anticipation and excitement.
This video is coming about a month after I decided to buy a refurbed Vita again lol. It’s really such an amazing machine. I loved it when it came out and I’m still loving it today.
As a handheld fan, having a modded Vita and 3DS with their best games makes it hard to buy new expensive consoles. Still so many gems and titles I’m discovering and playing for 8+ years
Ever since I got to borrow a PSP for the better part of two months back in 2010, I've always wanted a PlayStation portable system
i bought a vita a little less than a year ago and i’ve been able to beat 20 games that have been sitting in my backlog all during my breaks at work 🙏🏻 thank god for having a job i can be lazy at.
Sounds like a good job, what do you do?
I was literally just playing on my Vita, the Vita is the GOAT!
Just bought two 2000 models from japan through eBay 😊
Unit 13 was my jam. Would always play it while I was at the laundromat lol.
Yeah pretty impressive for a vita launch title
22:34 Is this how you were playing for the Dissidia video the other day? Smart, that's how I'm also playing it now!
Vita really "living" up to its name in 2024!
1. Ratchet collection is available in NA. I have the digital version.
2. I thought Freedom Wars servers got taken offline?
yeah i was sitting here watching this dumbfounded because Ratchet and Clank collection is like one of my only games on Vita and I'm in the US
I love my Vita.
Vita is still a great handheld machine. I use mine exclusively to play PSP games on it!
Also the oled vita has Hall effect sticks
Oh really? I have the oled vita wondered why I didn’t get any drifting issues
Awesome video! I subbed, funny about a week ago I started playing breath of fire 3 on my vita again, such an awesome game!
Every time I boot up the VITA as I did this morning, I always think I don't play on it enough. Such an underrated system.
Yeah I like my vita but will always think of it as the system Sony just gave up on, it could have been much more
Im so glad to hear that the PSN store is up I def wanna cop one soon.
Better hurry. Who knows when Sony is going to close it. Xbox 360 is closing the store at the end of July.
Apologies, not trying to be that guy, but ratchet collection absolutely released in NA. I worked at gamestop when the vita released, I was a day one adopter. Also just mod your vita, it's the best handheld made better modded
Vita for life baby!
I was feeling nostalgic about the Vita and found out that mine had a dead battery 😅
Vita is definitely top 5 for handhelds but ahead of the Switch…..not a chance!
Some of my favorite games not mentioned in the video:
- Dragon's Crown
- Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational
- Killzone: Mercenary
- Muramasa Rebirth
- Soul Sacrifice
- Toukiden: The Age of Demons
- Y's: Memories of Celceta
- Y's VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana
Where do you download the ps1 games from? I’m in uk and for some reason there are a total of 7 ps1 games on the ps1 🤨🤔 I remember when there was a full a-z
With both a 3.5 mm jack and Bluetooth support, the speaker quality should be a non-factor for anyone looking at a Vita.
Luckily i don’t have to because my older brother passed his vita onto me before leaving for the army.
Now that is a good brother😉
One of my best friends gave me his Vita that he didn't want anymore a few years ago, and I jailbroke it and it's something I always take with me when I travel. I used to dream about being able to have a ps1 collection of rpg's that I carried with me and now I do. The Vita is an awesome little handheld machine
Even with my ROG Ally - I find myself always going back to my modded Vita. Emulation, movies, music....online/offline...fits perfectly in your pocket.
amazing video!! i loved your coverage of the vita :))
this one alr a banger, wish sony didn't give up on the vita
12:33 By the time this video was uploaded, the servers for Killzone have been shut down. RIP 😥
Yeah it’s always a sad time when servers are shut down for games I miss the little big planet online servers
If you love handhelds. YES
The sd2vita is essential imo
Still my favourite handheld console of all time. Homebrewing this thing was goated.
My first game that I bought for the vita was Wipeout 2048 and it blew me away.
Now, after watching....This might be the cleanest psvita in 2024 video on the internet, if yall know what i mean...
I absolutely adore the vita, it’s become my all time favourite handheld. And after I softmodded it and installed an SD card adapter, it has open the flood gates to a whole slew of experiences, mot notably the ability to run the vita in a virtual psp mode and play almost the entirety of the psp library
And that library can be expanded ten fold homebrew ports like Cuphead, Hollow Knight and most recently, Blasphemous. Let's not forget emulation too.
If I could of given you a thousand like I would, thanks for this Vita vid🙏🏾👊🏾
Soul Sacrifice and Freedom Wars need a return. Toukiden also great glad on ps4. Soul Sacrifice no longer online i dont think tho
That FF X and Persona 4 combo 0.0
I loved the gyro aiming on certain Vita titles like Uncharted. I used the sticks for aiming the cross hairs in the general area and then fine tuning with the gyro controls.
Yeah the gyro aiming was perfect for uncharted
Battery life on the Vita is incredible. You can leave it on sleep for a month no problem.
Also, the original does not have joystick drift
For a month? Wow didn’t realise you could do that for that long
Yep because it uses Hall effect joysticks
Sadly the slim does and with just a month of use mine was already with drift😢
I had a Vita when it was relevant. And hands down my favorite game was Unit 13. Really would like to revisit that system
I like those gimmicks, but they didn’t force you to use them. You could use sticks and buttons as well
I've had a Vita since 2016, and while I don't play handheld consoles a lot nowadays, I always come back to the Vita.
1. God of War Collection
2. Uncharted golden abyss
3. Nfs most wanted.
4. Sly cooper thieves of time.
5. Fifa football.
6. Rugby 15.
7. Batman Lego
8. Batman arkham
9. AC Liberation
10. Cod Classified sum sum
PS Vita is my favourite handheld. I have over 500 games for it and it's my go to when travelling. It's a shame it didn't have stronger support, but there is definitely no shortage of games available for it! Also, who doesn't love trophy hunting while on the go?
500? Wowwww what are your favourite vita games?
I freaking love the vita, it was my gateway to persona, sadly most of the jrpgs are being ported to switch
Same here ! I beat persona 4 golden on vita and never looked back. Loved Persona 5 too and I’m currently playing 3 reload
Heck yeah dude! Top tier series, hope ya enjoy P3R!
It's fine if more people can play the games you like on other consoles. You are not wrong to like the Vita but it's a dead console. I still love PS1 but I don't expect other people buying a PS1 to play FF7.
ikr even Tokyo Xanadu is coming soon.
@7DragonEyes7 nah its not bad at all, just makes the vita sorta irrelevant since the switch is getting them all.
Trophies on the vita are still pretty nice though, as well as being able to have a screensaver.
Still have my original PS Vita from ages ago, recently got a USB charger for it.
Man I've had my first vita for about 3 months now and im addicted to it. It's definitely a console where im rushing to play all the classic games that i used to play on PS1 and 2 (some of 3). Plus the vita is giving me a great first-time experience with the top vita hits. Thank for recommending some of those less known games. Def adding them to the list! Also this video was refreshing after being drowned in homebrew videos since my time with the vita 🤣
Ps Vita was my favorite handheld. uncharted, gravity rush, little Big planet, and Resistance. Then I played so much of Killzone Mercenaries bb
And I got the 3g version. A big mistake. Lol
