The animation quality here is legitimately on par with some real TV shows I've seen. The quick, snappy movements and bright colours remind me of shows like Wander Over Yonder. Seriously, this is just awesome.
i mean tbf between risking a fight he might not win with Spyro who isnt interested in it (and is in a bad mood) or just sending him home which he wants, one has a guranteed favorable outcome for Ripto the other is a risk it makes sense why he chose to honor the deal.
This is probably the most fluid and organically relatable animation I've ever seen. It was just understandable and intelligent on every level. Quality in every step.

Because the second and the third chapters of the original trilogy were garbage. Meaningless and infuriating minigames intertwined with a mindless collectathon where gems had no reason of existence besides being used to bribe Moneybags into doing whatever he would do for cash. I just beat "The Year of the Dragon" and I CHEATED to get all the gems just to see how the true final boss was. (The ice skating challenge with those yetis was just stupid, cheap and useless. I used the "Endless Boost Trick" 'cause I absolutely suck at Spyro skating and don't care about getting better.) And it was overwhelmingly disappointing. Now I'm playing through Gateway to Glimmer again and I see how inflated and hyped the original trilogy was, really planning NOT to search through the entire game, just beating Ripto, and that's it. Besides, the final reward (all gems/all orbs) is useless as well: endless super flame when you already destroyed pretty much everything. All in all, the only Spyro I love is the very first, 2 is so so, 3 is trash.

Basically, the game is implying that all the other dragons are incompetent, and a small child is the only one that's skilled enough. So the others don't even bother trying again. xD

Nope, it's not hard or tedious at all. You're given items to trade until you get the pencil. For example, you put a seed in a pot and get a small duck. You give the duck to a mama duck and get a coin. You put the coin in a fountain, etc. It's one of my favorite minigames in Spyro 2.
Spyro definitely has basis to be in Smash. There's the GBA exclusives way back when, and more recently the Skylander-Amiibo hybrids in Superchargers. He may be known as a Playstation mascot, but he has quite the history with Nintendo too.
When I first watched this, I hadn't even touched a Spyro game, yet I got plenty of enjoyment out of it. Coming back after having played Reignited Trilogy allows me to get even more enjoyment now that I understand the references.

@@meitaullray5071 Come to think of it, you are not wrong at one point. However, he would not be considered normal guy in this video, considering that he negotiated with Ripto. What kind of character would make a deal with a scheming villain? even if the price would be to return to his world? That's not normal nor rational, but rather insane decision by those standards. Yet again, there is no other solution for Spyro to return to his world in the original game, but only completing the game quests, so everyone apparently sent him into a seriers of dangerous quests, that they would drive him crazy. I don't know what kind of reaction and decision I would think of in this awkward situation at this point.
Your average/normal person would rather go home than risk his/her life helping random people in another world, but re-opening the dragon world portal (if that'd be even possible) would've been a serious safety risk for Ripto (otherwise I don't see why he'd trick Spyro as he wants to get rid of him), so Spyro was left with no other options but to fight him with Elora, Hunter etc.
I watched this quite a few times in the past, but I revisited it today, and I ended up paying closer attention to Sparx. I love all his lil' expressions, just done with the eyes... maximum Gromit energy.

Okay, a moment of appreciation for the attention to detail, here, especially during the montage. It portrays actual missions and shows him getting the correct rewards each time. Well done!
Haha, this came out after I talked to Piemations but before the episode with him in it got released. At least I can link to this wonderful animation right away!
And not once did Spyro mention escorting an alchemist through a bunch of rock monsters to get to Hunter despite there being a direct path to Hunter where there's no rock monsters. It's like walking to your neighbours house but instead of following the pavement that leads directly there you decide to dodge traffic in the middle of the road first. And for that matter, Spyro has a lot of restraint when it gets to Hunter; if Hunter hadn't inputted his birthday into the professor's portal Ripto would've never made it into Avalar in the first place, then there's the parts where Hunter insists on giving Spyro challenges to acquire the orbs despite the fact that Hunter is meant to be on Spyro's side, and then the real slap in the face is in Spyro 3 where he's withholding dragon eggs until Spyro completes a challenge...eggs that belonged to the residents of Spyro's homeland that the Dragon elders sent Spyro and Hunter to retrieve.
I recall Mr. Enter once saying how Hunter could secretly be the villain. This analysis didn’t need to get hard and deep, but yeah, those are some pressing points I cannot refute.
In Year of the Dragon, there is finally the quest "8000 reasons for it" where you can kick and burn him so he give you back all the money you spent on him. Loved that part.

I used the "Endless Boost Trick" 'cause I absolutely suck at Spyro skating and don't care about getting better.) And it was overwhelmingly disappointing. Now I'm playing through Gateway to Glimmer again and I see how inflated and hyped the original trilogy was, really planning NOT to search through the entire game, just beating Ripto, and that's it. Besides, the final reward (all gems/all orbs) is useless as well: endless super flame when you already destroyed pretty much everything. All in all, the only Spyro I love is the very first, 2 is so so, 3 is trash.

Nope, it's not hard or tedious at all. You're given items to trade until you get the pencil. For example, you put a seed in a pot and get a small duck. You give the duck to a mama duck and get a coin. You put the coin in a fountain, etc. It's one of my favorite minigames in Spyro 2.

What kind of character would make a deal with a scheming villain? even if the price would be to return to his world? That's not normal nor rational, but rather insane decision by those standards.
Yet again, there is no other solution for Spyro to return to his world in the original game, but only completing the game quests, so everyone apparently sent him into a seriers of dangerous quests, that they would drive him crazy. I don't know what kind of reaction and decision I would think of in this awkward situation at this point.
Your average/normal person would rather go home than risk his/her life helping random people in another world, but re-opening the dragon world portal (if that'd be even possible) would've been a serious safety risk for Ripto (otherwise I don't see why he'd trick Spyro as he wants to get rid of him), so Spyro was left with no other options but to fight him with Elora, Hunter etc.

And not once did Spyro mention escorting an alchemist through a bunch of rock monsters to get to Hunter despite there being a direct path to Hunter where there's no rock monsters. It's like walking to your neighbours house but instead of following the pavement that leads directly there you decide to dodge traffic in the middle of the road first.
And for that matter, Spyro has a lot of restraint when it gets to Hunter; if Hunter hadn't inputted his birthday into the professor's portal Ripto would've never made it into Avalar in the first place, then there's the parts where Hunter insists on giving Spyro challenges to acquire the orbs despite the fact that Hunter is meant to be on Spyro's side, and then the real slap in the face is in Spyro 3 where he's withholding dragon eggs until Spyro completes a challenge...eggs that belonged to the residents of Spyro's homeland that the Dragon elders sent Spyro and Hunter to retrieve.
All of hunters minigames were annoying.
Especially when he acted a little condescending towards us.
I recall Mr. Enter once saying how Hunter could secretly be the villain.
