I grew up with Dawn of the Dragon and it is one of the most nostalgic thing of my childhood. I would stare at the beautiful menu screen for minutes before I even played it, entranced by the music.

I played the firstbgame in a demo disc. Got the second one and played the hell out of it then kater i got the 3rd one. 2 will always be my jam but 3 was very fun too. Probably even better then 2. But 2 has too many nostalgia points from me
The best trilogies hands down in my opinion are the original 3 spyro games and the legend of spyro. Especially dawn of the dragon because you fight the dark master himself who is also a dragon! Ugh the nostalgia 😔😊. Thanks for the likes!!
not only a dragon, but a purple dragon! he is what Spyro could have become (if he were treated the same way, a dragon with so much potential but nobody telling him the limits of his powers or what he could acually do with it...) and it makes it much more interesting!
I have theorized that each spyro is a incarnation of spyro as ignites said a purple dragon is born every 10 gereations or 1000 yearsmany people believe Malefor aka the dark master is a corrupted version of the original spyro and if you haven't beat dawn of the dragon spoiler but when spyro sacrifices himself to save the earth he not only reincarnates as skylander spyro but he also CREATED skylands although that does not excuse how horrible they made spyro look lik skylanders..if he looked like og spyro people would have adored skyladners
im right with you. the legend of Spyro have one of the best arguments....inclusive the voices of Gandalf and Frodo can be heard in the game. dawn of the dragon was my favourite beacuse you can control two dragons...Spyro and Cynder. Compared with their versions of Skylanders....these are the best versions of Spyro and Cynder....excelent designs. fire, ice, electricity and earth with Spyro and Wind, Posion, Fear and Shadow(i wrote wind first because Wind is the primary element of Cynder but after been exposed to the darkness...she won another 3 elements after Spyro purified her from her Corruption).

After the original trilogy, Spyro got uglier and uglier until he ended up as a horrifying abomination in Skylanders. I'm so grateful the reignited version didn't mess up the original design. Spyro suffered enough already
The Legend of Spyro trilogy is honestly some of the most underrated games of their time. It had a very unique story with an amazing soundtrack, the trilogy felt like one big movie. Dawn of the Dragon is one of the best games I've ever experienced, same with A New Beginning (mostly because of nostalgia). As for Eternal Night...MAN did that game suck. Should've been called "Difficulty Spike: The Game."
However I could tell the voice acting just wasn't.. 'there' in those games. They either had clunky dialogue, or unenthused voice actors. Still, the concept and characters seem good to restructure into the OG Spiro Trilogy.
I disagree with the difficult part. I was able to beat it at 9 years old (although after a few hours of frustration) Yes it was difficult, but not so much that is should define the game.
Ominethious Calistian things have changed soo much in so little time, the reignited trilogy has the quality of a pixar movie, the voice acting is amazing and the movement is so fluid, i would love to see a Spyro 4 created by games for bob, it definetly can't be worse than Enter the dragonfly
The Legend Of Spyro games were my favorites because each had its own unique story, and not to mention everything about those games were absolutely perfect.

It’s been many years but I’m still such a big fan of The Legend of Spyro series. Warms my heart to see other people who still love it, too. (And of course the original trilogy is great as well)
I remember when Spyro came out for the PS1. Used to play the first and second games a ton, growing up. I’m so glad they decided to remaster the original trilogy. I hope to re-experience my childhood, and give my own kids the chance to experience good ol’ 90’s styled platforming at its absolute finest

Spyro was a funny purple dragon...they tried to take it too dark and I feel like thats where the series nose dived. I hope with the Spyro Reignited they get back to the light hearted toony style.
As someone who's sinking hours into the game I can confirm that this is very much the case. The reignited trilogy is essentially the original 3 games but with a graphical and auditory overhaul. The story and world layouts are still near identical to the original with minor changes here and there for improvements in the game's look and feel. It is, for all intents and purposes exactly what the original Spyro games on the PSOne would have looked like if they were originally concieved and developed for the PC and consoles of today.
I beat it all , it was fun but third Spyro that skateboarding is bad, it was bad in classic and it's still bad and speedways ... ooooh speedways I think they get worse in remakes.
Its a shame that we’ll probably never get a proper insomniac developed 4th installment in the spyro series, but im still pretty stoked for the reignited trilogy.
Yea thats pretty sad. I mean the Reignited trilogy is the the first time i play the trilogie but i want a fourth one. Enter the dragonfly is the only one i played and it was ok but not good. I know its not from insomniac but its offically the 4th game of the series. The only spyro series i played was the legend of spyro series. But i like the original spyro better.
This is coming from a og Spyro fan but I don't think Insomniac has to be the ones to make a proper Spyro 4 game. As long as they keep his ugly Skylanders design out of it and stay true to the original formula we should be fine.
I've grown up to The Legend Of Spyro : A new beggining.. And i assume it, i've never played the trilogy before, and I love the legend of spyro's serie... The Ost's are powerful and very attractive, i must have finished the game like 34 times (yes, i really counted xD) since i really enjoyed it... I miss that game so much...

The original three games are my childhood, I used to go to my grandmothers house and play them there. I still remember all of the levels and intros... When the Reignited Trilogy came out I played it nonstop with a constant smile on my face.

The Legend Trilogy was the one i grew up with. Especially the first two games. I loved how you got different element breath’s instead of just fire. And the more mature (or edgy) atmosphere.
Even though I'm 15 years old, I got into Spyro when I first played Spyro: Year of The Dragon on my PlayStation 2 when I was like 5 or 6. That's because my brother grew up with Spyro all the way to the Legends series and as I grew up, he told me about the series and I loved it. When Skylanders came, I gave up on that because it ruined my childhood about Spyro. Now that I've grown, I definitely want to get the Spyro Remastered Trilogy for my PlayStation 4. What a wonderful trip of nostalgia for my childhood.😤
Same, I'm only 17 so I guess I'm of the generation after Spyro's best days, but I still grew up with Year of the Dragon because of my older brother. When Skylanders hit I was shocked that they put Spyro as the poster character. Having him as a character whose just there as one of the toys wouldn't have been bad but calling the game"Spyro's Adventure" was just wrong, despite the quality of the game itself

For those of you who say you hate the god of war concept on Spyro can piss off because realistically the legend of spyro made the game seem to capture the full potential of what a purple dragon who can consume all elements can do. If you didn’t love the story then idk how you all love adventure games.
I grew up on the original trilogy, and loved them to death- they're basically my childhood. That said, I'm very curious about the 'legend' trilogy, and wish I had a system that could run the games just so I could play them for myself.
Starfall it's a pretty good trilogy. In the third you can play with a friend, one playing as Spyro and the other playing as Cynder (the female dragon) and you can actually fly, not glide but fly.
The third game in the Legend trilogy (Dawn of the Dragon) is literally the best game of the three. You can FLY, man!! And the bosses and soundtrack and visuals are just breath-taking. The first game (A New Beginning) I love, mostly because I was beyond excited when it was first announced and ended up really enjoying it as a kid. And the second one...It's my least favorite video game of all time. It sucks. Should've been called "Difficulty Spike: The Game." Only good thing about it was the music.
New Beginning was the not only the first spyro game I ever played but it is also the VERY FIRST game I ever played I was 6 when I played it and I loved it here I am 17 years old and loving every spyro game (except enter the dragonfly and skylanders)

I honestly thought Dawn of the Dragon had really good graphics for its time (being 2008) on my old ps2. Then I got it on my 360 and gosh it’s even better. Not saying I don’t want a remake, but DotD doesn’t look too bad at all.

I never understood the design choice to make spyro's muzzle flat in skylanders? (And the red eyes are a little weird too bc I think they clash with the rest of his colors) but I honestly think he look allot better in skylanders Academy as opposed to the skylanders games
One of the reasons I also liked The Legend of Spyro, (especially A New Beginning) was because of how they actually made Sparx a character. He could actually talk and had a personality.
You can definitely tell that Spyro aged between the first two games cause other than him having a deeper voice in Ripto's Rage his wings also got longer.

TLOS games on PS2 actually still have pretty good assets by today's standards. I recommend running the game on an emulator called PCSX2 which is a PC program and that will allow you to upscale the resolution if you have a powerful enough PC. If you don't own the disc anymore grab a rip from emuparadise.me. :) It's how I play AHT
DoTD has worse graphics on ps2, There's a ps3 version that you can buy with way better graphics, if u play the ps2 disc on a ps3 the graphics are still pretty low. i had a ps2 one and played it on ps3 but it has so many scratches so it crashes all the time rip. My dad has bought the ps3 one for me though :)
I feel bad for starting out with the Legend of Spyro trilogy instead of the original. I don't hate the legend of spyro, in fact those games are actually really good, but I kinda wish I had the originals. I'm missing out on something.
despite most of the games being better in terms of story and general development, dawn of the dragon is still an all time favourite. i played that one the most and remember its content more than any other. back then i used to play that game with sparkling eyes, it was so beautiful! i could never imagine such graphics at the time, being, say, 10 years old when i got the chance to play. now i look at it, compare it to the newest PS4 games and feel speechless. the soundtrack was also outstanding and the ending got me tearing up as a kid. i might still get emotional if i play it again after over 6 years... spyro played a huge part in my childhood, i love every single game and am very thankful i had the chance to play them in my younger days.
Honestly, A Hero's Tail was my favourite as a child. I'm not sure why, I just preferred that one. Dawn of the Dragon was also fun during my teenage years as I enjoyed wasting time by flying. *Shrug* I also bought the Reignited Trilogy today and oh my gossshhh. I love it so much! The graphics are just.. ugh. 😍

When you played the original trilogy as a kid, thinking it was difficult and a big world. Only to look back at this footage and realise how small and easy each level really was compared to modern time games. (Still timeless classics though)

Gabe Mendes My favorite from the OG trilogy is Year of The Dragon. Ripto’s Rage wasn’t as great to me since there was no Egg thief (which I loved) and the levels was much shorter. Liked the challenges but I missed what number 1 had. When they made 3 it’s was the perfect combination. Challenges from 2 and some stuff from the first game mixed together with some additional stuff. But that’s my opinion though
The second game in the original trilogy was called Gateway To Glimmer in Europe! Honestly, love these games. Have completed the first one in the series about 10 times. Cause that bonus gem level at the end was so cool 😊 Wahhhh running around, smashing Nasty Gnorcs butt and forever flying off the edge and dying in Tree Tops. So excited to do that again! 😂
I know people will hate me for this but the only Spyro game I played as a kid was skylanders but I am excited for the reimagined trilogy so I can try them out
People shouldn't hate you for that, it's completely alright if the only Spyro you knew was the Skylanders one. It's a good thing you're trying out other Spyro games too and learning about Spyro outside of his role in Skylanders.
Cloakedtooth 8 you are in for the best experience of your life, not really but the first spyros are pretty fun, can't speak much for the first one as I never tried it but the other 2 are on my top list of games.

Wow the nostalgia played Spyro the Dragon & Spyro 2 on PS1 must have been 4-7 Years old. Forgot most of the gameplay; What an immersion of adventure the days where losing my memory card was at the top of my worry list.

im right with you. the legend of Spyro have one of the best arguments....inclusive the voices of Gandalf and Frodo can be heard in the game. dawn of the dragon was my favourite beacuse you can control two dragons...Spyro and Cynder. Compared with their versions of Skylanders....these are the best versions of Spyro and Cynder....excelent designs. fire, ice, electricity and earth with Spyro and Wind, Posion, Fear and Shadow(i wrote wind first because Wind is the primary element of Cynder but after been exposed to the darkness...she won another 3 elements after Spyro purified her from her Corruption).

The Legend of Spyro trilogy is honestly some of the most underrated games of their time. It had a very unique story with an amazing soundtrack, the trilogy felt like one big movie. Dawn of the Dragon is one of the best games I've ever experienced, same with A New Beginning (mostly because of nostalgia). As for Eternal Night...MAN did that game suck. Should've been called "Difficulty Spike: The Game."
However I could tell the voice acting just wasn't.. 'there' in those games. They either had clunky dialogue, or unenthused voice actors. Still, the concept and characters seem good to restructure into the OG Spiro Trilogy.
I disagree with the difficult part. I was able to beat it at 9 years old (although after a few hours of frustration) Yes it was difficult, but not so much that is should define the game.

I remember when Spyro came out for the PS1. Used to play the first and second games a ton, growing up. I’m so glad they decided to remaster the original trilogy. As someone who's sinking hours into the game I can confirm that this is very much the case. The reignited trilogy is essentially the original 3 games but with a graphical and auditory overhaul. The story and world layouts are still near identical to the original with minor changes here and there for improvements in the game's look and feel. It is, for all intents and purposes exactly what the original Spyro games on the PSOne would have looked like if they were originally concieved and developed for the PC and consoles of today.

Even though I'm 15 years old, I got into Spyro when I first played Spyro: Year of The Dragon on my PlayStation 2 when I was like 5 or 6. That's because my brother grew up with Spyro all the way to the Legends series and as I grew up, he told me about the series and I loved it. When Skylanders came, I gave up on that because it ruined my childhood about Spyro. Now that I've grown, I definitely want to get the Spyro Remastered Trilogy for my PlayStation 4. I grew up on the original trilogy, and loved them to death- they're basically my childhood. That said, I'm very curious about the 'legend' trilogy, and wish I had a system that could run the games just so I could play them for myself.
Starfall it's a pretty good trilogy. In the third you can play with a friend, one playing as Spyro and the other playing as Cynder (the female dragon) and you can actually fly, not glide but fly.
The third game in the Legend trilogy (Dawn of the Dragon) is literally the best game of the three. You can FLY, man!! And the bosses and soundtrack and visuals are just breath-taking. The first game (A New Beginning) I love, mostly because I was beyond excited when it was first announced and ended up really enjoying it as a kid. And the second one...It's my least favorite video game of all time. It sucks. Should've been called "Difficulty Spike: The Game." Only good thing about it was the music.
New Beginning was the not only the first spyro game I ever played but it is also the VERY FIRST game I ever played I was 6 when I played it and I loved it here I am 17 years old and loving every spyro game (except enter the dragonfly and skylanders)

TLOS games on PS2 actually still have pretty good assets by today's standards. I recommend running the game on an emulator called PCSX2 which is a PC program and that will allow you to upscale the resolution if you have a powerful enough PC. If you don't own the disc anymore grab a rip from emuparadise.me. :) It's how I play AHT
DoTD has worse graphics on ps2, There's a ps3 version that you can buy with way better graphics, if u play the ps2 disc on a ps3 the graphics are still pretty low. i had a ps2 one and played it on ps3 but it has so many scratches so it crashes all the time rip. My dad has bought the ps3 one for me though :)

despite most of the games being better in terms of story and general development, dawn of the dragon is still an all time favourite. i played that one the most and remember its content more than any other. back then i used to play that game with sparkling eyes, it was so beautiful! i could never imagine such graphics at the time, being, say, 10 years old when i got the chance to play. now i look at it, compare it to the newest PS4 games and feel speechless. the soundtrack was also outstanding and the ending got me tearing up as a kid. i might still get emotional if i play it again after over 6 years... spyro played a huge part in my childhood, i love every single game and am very thankful i had the chance to play them in my younger days.

When you played the original trilogy as a kid, thinking it was difficult and a big world.
Only to look back at this footage and realise how small and easy each level really was compared to modern time games.
(Still timeless classics though)

edit: The skylanders spyro is so ugly, why did they mess with his character model so much. They gave him such a big forehead for no reason lmao.

@@sharynkopschewa3884 Skylanders is fine. But they turned spyro into a chihuahua with scales. The rest of the characters are fine. But an established character model doesn't need to be changed. It'd be like if nintendo started drawing mario with no mustache.
Gabe Mendes My favorite from the OG trilogy is Year of The Dragon. Ripto’s Rage wasn’t as great to me since there was no Egg thief (which I loved) and the levels was much shorter. Liked the challenges but I missed what number 1 had.
When they made 3 it’s was the perfect combination. Challenges from 2 and some stuff from the first game mixed together with some additional stuff. But that’s my opinion though

The second game in the original trilogy was called Gateway To Glimmer in Europe! Honestly, love these games. Have completed the first one in the series about 10 times. Cause that bonus gem level at the end was so cool 😊 Wahhhh running around, smashing Nasty Gnorcs butt and forever flying off the edge and dying in Tree Tops. So excited to do that again! 😂
I know people will hate me for this but the only Spyro game I played as a kid was skylanders but I am excited for the reimagined trilogy so I can try them out
People shouldn't hate you for that, it's completely alright if the only Spyro you knew was the Skylanders one. It's a good thing you're trying out other Spyro games too and learning about Spyro outside of his role in Skylanders.
Cloakedtooth 8 you are in for the best experience of your life, not really but the first spyros are pretty fun, can't speak much for the first one as I never tried it but the other 2 are on my top list of games.

Wow the nostalgia played Spyro the Dragon & Spyro 2 on PS1 must have been 4-7 Years old. Forgot most of the gameplay; What an immersion of adventure the days where losing my memory card was at the top of my worry list.
