I really miss old Hunter and Bianca though. Hunter used to come off as dumb in a bro way, but the new seems dumber and more of a wimp. And Biana felt sassier an more driven. This one seems more innocent and soft spoken. They aren't bad by any means, I just hold the old ones near and dear bc Year of the Dragon and Enter the Dragonfly were *massive* parts of my childhood.

The remake's cutscenes are so damn good that it makes the old scenes feel weird going back to.
Agreed
Loved spyro as a kid. The reignited took a different but beautiful approach. One of the few 'remakes' that stayed true to tge original gameplay but reignited it... it was great to see so much detail. But played the same so the memories came back and the appreciation for the new graphics. In this rare instance it's sort of the best of both.
The only one gripe I had was it would have been awesome to see the original end credits and theme with upgraded graphics. Although with the free fly mod available we are able to do so in game :)
Bianca is even more Lola Bunny now.
Elora and Bianca look phenomenal. And don't even get me started on Agent 9. Nice job designers.
>everyone around you freeze into crystals, possibly dead
Spyro: "l0oKs LiKE i'Ve gOt s0Me THiNgS t0 dO."
>villain proceeds to ignore the one dragon that got away right in front of his TV view
Such cinematic genius. 👏
Well, they did say Gnasty Gnorc was a simple creature.
One thing I’ve noticed: the remaster of the cutscene at 21:59, Ripto’s laughter now echoes as the flags change to reflect his takeover of the castle. Nice touch.
The old one just gives me the best childhood vibes
I’ve been a Spyro fan since I can remember. I love these games. I really was blown away by the remake. Despite its amazing quality I still prefer the OG soundtrack and character designs even though they were simpler
51:28 that face tho
Can we talk about how in the original the professor from out of nowhere his glasses were "broken", like that entire scene just made me laugh with how nonsensical it was.
😂😂😂😂
I really miss old Hunter and Bianca though. Hunter used to come off as dumb in a bro way, but the new seems dumber and more of a wimp. And Biana felt sassier an more driven. This one seems more innocent and soft spoken. They aren't bad by any means, I just hold the old ones near and dear bc Year of the Dragon and Enter the Dragonfly were *massive* parts of my childhood.
the originals have their own charm and mystique. The new and the old can't be compared to be honest, just different styles of graphics.
I like how Sheila, Bentley, Sargent Byrd, and Agent 9 torture Moneybags in various ways. I laugh every time!
Seeing these super old graphics threw me through a nostalgia loop. I haven’t played the old games in probably a decade.
I played the game and I freaked out when I heard clem as Bianca’s voice I’m like WAIT IS THAT CLEMENTINE????!!!!! :0000
Whos Clementine?
@@neonshark6972 Telltale games: The Walking dead but I figure you already knew this after 1 month.
isnt it wierd that all adult dragons are...well..male? Where did the eggs even come from?
Maybe it’s similar to penguin breeding, where the men are in charge of the eggs while the female dragons go hunting.
✨magic✨
The comparisons are really nice. Seeing how they improved. It would be cool if the old voice actors were the voice actors for the new version but the animation is spot on!
Sara Herrmann but a lot were the original voice actors
@@michellesimmons2756 really? I didnt know that it's a huge change to be honest!
This is how you do a successful remake of a great game!
The thumbnail is actually one of the most horrifying things I’ve ever seen

*”WahwahWAH!”*
I love Spyro’s new voice. I also love all the new dragon designs.
Just finished Spyro 3 Reignited. Honestly, I kind of now want Toys For Bob to make their own version of Spyro 4 that continues from the third game and ignores the other sequels.
They need to make it like Spyro 4 was orignally going to be with Gnasty and Ripto working together.
@@Tyrik73
I would like to see them do Spyro A Hero's Tail and Spyro Shadow Legacy and continue where it left off but without the Ember x Bandit ship since it goes nowhere.
I like Spyro x Ember and I like Spyro Flame and Ember.
I actually Sat through the whole thing...neat.
*23:27** His eyes lmaoooo*
Funnily enough, even though Sheila's new voice actor is actually Australian, unlike her former voice actor, I feel like her old voice sounded more Aussie.
i mean having a actual Aussie is better than a impressionist
Tom Kenny
- Spyro
- The Professor
- Sgt. James Byrd
André Sogliuzzo: Sparx
Michael J. Gough: Gnasty Gnorc
Gregg Berger
- Ripto
- Crush & Gulp
Richard Tatum: Agent 9
Everyone else (including Hunter) was recasted here
I know this is an old comment, but technically Crush and Gulp didn't have voices in 2, Greg voiced them first in Enter the Dragonfly where they actually spoke English. I'm glad they had him do the grunts for them in Reignited, though. I'm not surprised the rest were replaced. A lot of the actors have become either high in demand, like Neil Ross, or are on the cusp of retiring, like Pamela Hayden.
it is disgusting just how much charm the reignited trilogy has.
Man...these re-vamp is INCREDIBLE!!!
I find it hilarious that every villain in Spyro is just evil and that’s it but gnasty gnorc just turns dragons into statues just because they called him ugly 😛
11:45 this replaces my nightmares
Animation aside, I’m glad they kept the script more or less the same. That’s always been my favorite part of the games.
19:51: “Gulp will be more than a match for you”
Jfc, you tell me about it. He was right, Gulp’s boss battle is rage inducing.
Wow. She was going to kill all the hatchlings for a spell!?
I’m just picturing Alora saying either “I’m a Phantom Thief you dork” or “I’m an Incubator, you dork” because of her voice actress
😂😂😂😂
“Calm down, Akechi. And stop fidgeting”
mom, after sending me to buy eggs: where's the change?
8 year old me trying to stay cool: 3:15
From Reboot to PIXAR-quality. Showing how far we come with CGI since the 90's.
That eye reducing, growing are the things we imitate in school
1:10:01 I bet they would fall in love the irony
ikr
Lol 😂
They fixed hunter's mouth
Thank god
12:40 Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the meme you've been looking for.
Woah, the graphics literally look like a movie.. the people that animated this are amazing :0
A Dragon? You brought a dragon to avalar? I hate dragons!
Spyro: I hate you more. What's your point?
I read that right as it played
I like the new cutscenes, but I still prefer the originals, they just have so much charm.
The originals are definitely better. Not from a technical standpoint but...
Same I didn’t even grow up with the old games
I love how dynamic the new shadows and light reflections make the game. I needed a bit of time to get the nostalgia goggles off, but good lord is the new game so so beautiful and atmospheric.
The only thing I still prefer is the original tomboy look for Sheila. I like the jacket but the hair could have been a short butch cut.
Sheila just looks like a regular kangaroo in the original. Remake Sheila actually looks like a character in a fantasy world.
Old Spyro VAs be like:
"riPPPto"
"and they sPit fire like this PPPuh PPPuh"
"suPer PPortal technology"
I've played the original so much when I was little that I'd still be okay with playing it with the bad graphics lol I guess it's because I'm so used to it. But the remake looks absolutely amazing and I'm excited to play it on steam.
The graphics of those games still look nice there's PS1 games that aged worse
I like their graphics too but I'm enjoying the remake a lot
Those graphics were some of the best on the PS1
I feel like some of the line deliveries are better in the original. Like the whole "How do we get into these messes pal?" Line better conveys exasperation than the remakes do.
Agreed
Wow, the originals really had some funky fuckin basslines holy shit
I like how the bunny looks less evil in the remastered.
I really love the remastered version especially the animations and little details
Why!?
I hope they do a spyros a hero's tail remastered one day
OMG YES!!!!
I really loved Spyro:A hero's tail, but for some reason it's got some fairly low ratings online :/ but the environment design is so nice, and they brought they elders in from the dragon realms, really don't get why
@@lycanknight7184
I also like Spyro A Hero's Tail and I especially like Flame and Ember too and want them back and as playable characters along with their own story modes.
"i'M a FaWn, YoU DoRk."
that line delivery couldn't be more opposite in these versions. one says "AY FUCK OFF" the other "luv u2 uwu" like what broooo 😂
9:45 Zoe the fairy is surly brave enough to get rid of Ripto's scepter
i love how in the reignited version of spyro 2, during the famous "You're a dragon?" "You got a problem with that, PUSSYCAT?!" exchange, hunter gets this absolutely hilarious, extremely offended look on his face and opens his mouth to speak like he was about to rip spyro a new asshole before ripto showed up
I'm really loving the little details in the reignited version.
