This works great. I'm using a dualshock 4 controller connected via bluetooth without an issue. The PS Play app works better then the OEM remote play app, I bought it on the google play store to use on my android phone as well. It feels like no input lag compared to Sony's native app which is laggy for me. Awesome tutorial!

I just tried this using a PS4 pro with psplay and a quest 3 and the dualshock is working fine with Bluetooth and their is perfect sound from the quest speakers so I guess things have improved since this video. Will try a PS5 soon! 😎👍🏻
I was super excited when I saw the title for the video but then as the instructions started to go on and it got longer and longer I was on the fence. but then when it got to the point where you have to plug things in I was like nah I'm going to wait for an update.
On the vision pro Apple has provided devs with the tools to to turn flat 3D games that play in a 2D window into stereoscopic 3D games....but i bet most devs won't use that feature for years to come.

@@SeanLumly i predict that development for the AVP will be very underwhelming in its first year as devs still try to figure out the platform, we may see a few interesting apps from well funded companies working directly would apple but the rest of the catalog would be existing 2D ipad apps and arkit apps reworked for visionOS by indie ios devs...like you said, VR is new to them so it will take a while before it clicks with them. Existing VR apps and games won't make a quick jump to visionOS because they were designed for controller input and many of them may never be suitable for hand tracking and because most current VR devs are small teams with limted funding it won't make sense for them to pivot to hand tracking just to be able to ship on visionOS, a platform that won't be profitable for many years due to high price of entry.
Ill be happy when someone figures out a way to connect the Quest 3 directly to the playstation via a link cable. :). To open up that library even if it was wired would great :)
I was able to download the ACTUAL PS Remote from Sony to the Quest 3 and its free. I never had lag or issues from it. Plus, bluetooth works to allow the use of PS4/PS5 controllers.
Biggest issue with this is you can't have any external power solutions with the controller plugged in. Which means you'll only get maybe 1.5 hours playing like this.

The VR units even with the bests nowadays still has a lot to develop in the future. Native resolutions, variable connectivity and multiple console supports etc. Nevertheless they are ( and going do be in the next 5 or years) awesome units

PSVR games would require the PS5 hardware to run them. So no. All they are doing here is casting what’s would normally be on your TV and into a flat screen in the Quest. It’s not VR games.
Great video! I did everything according to this instruction and it works for me. By the way, I have Quest 2. The only bad thing is that the ps5 controller needs to be connected by wire to q2. So the charge lasts for about an hour...
It turns out that you can connect the ps5 controller! I found the method in the search engine ....you need to log in to the application through the second account and then switch to your main one with games (if desired, you can find this in the search). Using the same method, we managed to connect the logitech g29 steering wheel and pedals to our Quest 2 and ps5!!! Now I 'm playing Grid Legends via Quest2 .
Thus method is for people using samsung or android device and a pc. What about those using just iphone/ipad and don't have any pc at home? Ps remote play is not the best interface as it shows buttons on the screen unless you have a ps portal. Or barebone portal. I wish meta would just add some sort of hdmi input into the headset so we could just see anything including your cable tv without going through wifi..
It wasn't easy, it took a long time, but I got it working and it's great. But what about the media apps on PS5? I can't seem to play any of my streaming services or disks. The error message says something about a "blocked screen" or "blocked scene". (Sorry, I didn't write it down as I should have.)
This wasn't hard at all. The resolution isn't the best. I'm so used to 4k gaming and HDR that I think this is just ok if you're in a situation where you want to game but don't have access to your main big screen tv. Besides that, the instructions while they look cumbersome are very straight forward. You don't have to pay for psremote play just google the apk. Sidequest vr apk is very googleable and findable. Plug the headphones into your meta 3 and not the controller. Set the audio to standard like he said. It works well for what it is. I just want a 4k version of this.

You'll need to find the APK on another website. The original developer is working on releasing an official APK but nothing is out yet so you'll have to find one that you can trust.

So i got the apk and the real apk from app store. I installed it on my Quest 3. And the app wont open right. So whats the difference how you install then how i did mines wont work
I've been running into the same issue. The problem stems from how the apk is packaged on the play store. It uses AAB which grabs the device info then downloads the right config. The Dev had responded on social media that he is working on a paid way to distribute the APK for quest 3 and 2 on his site.

Has anyone that tried this have an issue where the circle button wants to end the local streaming session? It's hard to dodge attacks as Spidey when every time I press the button it asks me if I want to end the session.
It occurred to me as soon as I hit enter. I had the controller connected to bluetooth with my headset as well. So pressing circle was like me clicking go back while also trying to dodge. Solution: Make sure you forget the bluetooth device if you're using the controller wired.

Easier to just use ps remote play apk and if you need to use the touchpad just use your oculus controller to click of the digital controllers. This way you can still use Bluetooth and don’t need headphones

I'm searching through cool tricks and, neat things you can do with the quest and, everyone is just pooping their paints over how great the quest 3 is and, pooping out the same basic tips and, tricks that everyone has covered on the quest to. Just repeats of the last video over and, over. Also this isn't worth the time and, effort because of lantancy. lantancy blows. If your a filthy casual that doesn't mind it cool... I guess. For those who want a better method without any latency what so ever. Get a elgato hd60 S+ and, then sideload a USB cam app get a good powered USB hub that is small enough to mount on a 3rd party headstrap and, a 100+ watt charger. Plug elgato into the the hub, plug charger into the hub. Plug any HDMI device into your your elgato, plug mounted hub into quest 3 Launch app. Play games without lantancy and, charge quest at same time.
Dear Meta how about a simple HDMI over USB so we can just plug anything into our quest as the TV!
you can do that already. just get a hdmi to usb c video capture which is cheap then download video usb apk file and connect ps5 by hdmi

This is why I think stereo-3D (think: 3DTV) flat-screen games is a trivial way to add value to VR/MR.

If you just want a bigger screen Signin with an ALT and use the controller connected to the PS5 for your main user, the Alt can still see the game.

You can just use the hdmi port . It’s much easier .

while it looks and plays fine. the curved window gives me motion sickness, i wish meta would allow us to make it flat.

PSVR2 is comfy, has nice colors and haptics. It really needs pancake or aspheric lenses and microOLED displays.
