Overall it's a nice camera but it would be nicer if it had custom camera options to save different adjustments for jpeg shooting. Previous models had those options, really cannot understand why this model hasn't.
The Mk III was a slash and burn of the Mk II when Olympus Imaging were in deep trouble and telling everyone they were in the business for good whilst negotiating its sale. They did not just have problems in imaging as there had been massive cooking of the books across the whole organisation. Unfortunately they tried to drastically change the menu system when the reviewers could not cope with it though most users were perfectly happy with it. The new models only really brought back electronic shutter in all modes but still have not recovered the functionality of the Mk II. Whether OM have the resources to get the models back to Mk II standards is yet to be seen. The MK IV is really only for people who have never had a Mk II and I will not switch mine.
Thank you for the review and your thoughts. Compared to your other Olympus camera bodies,e.g. the 5 MK2 , how did you find the in-body image stabilization? Can you trigger external flash guns from the camera? Cheers.
For photos, I haven't noticed a huge difference. I have recently purchased an external flash by Godox and I can sync the flash with the built in flash from the camera.
I know this is an old video but, is anyone else bummed out that regular 4/3 lens work only in manual focus mode. WTF is up with that? I started with the 510 and bought many lens. (Yes I'm a lens horder) Then updated to the OMD m2 which uses the 4/3 lens perfectly with the adapter. (nearly went broke buying adapters for all the lenses) Now I notice that the mk4 won't autofocus with them. Can anyone show me otherwise?
From a design and style standpoint, yes... In terms of specs, the Sony cameras tend to go the extra step with auto focus, iso performance and dynamic range. I have been interested to explore a Sony, but more the A6400.
So the bottom is plastic except the tripod thread. The top where the view finder and flash are also plastic, but there's also another material on the top where all the function buttons, dials, and on/off switch are and I can't figure out whether it is plastic or something else. Keep in mind Olympus/OM System would have gone towards a full plastic body to increase their small & light philosophy.
Beautifull capture result. Joyful to watch🎉
Great photos and review! Thank you.
I really loved the pictures you took ❤ with this camera,
Excellent video 😮!
Think its the sort of step up camara from a bridge camara
Solid review, thanks!
Great review. Thanks for all the information and pictures. Really helpful.

I can agree with you there, though I normally shoot in raw file.

I carry the silver version and people ask if I am shooting film.
Great video, thanks!
Are the knobs metal, all I wanna know and i can't find that info anywhere
What settings would you use, if you were taking astrophotography with this camera?
I generally set it to Live Bulb mode and Live Composite mode in the Manuel setting.
I am not able to get my camera off of MF, I need it to go to S-AF

Just curious are the accents on the matte parts the top and bottom are they plastic or metal?
