I'm planning on running at least 1 copy of Vikemon ACE. Solves the potential problem of BT9 X Antibody and De-digivolve, especially when you can target strip sources and leave the egg, is extremely good removal.
100% agree too if you wanna go with Vikemon ACE. That's a great way to really mess with both sides of the digivolution ha ha. If you remove the level 3 you could de-digivolve to 2 or an option.
Wave of Reliability would work good in this deck as well. I also added Absolute Blast because (in my meta) DeathX is always around and returning to bottom of the deck is better than to hand.
That's also fair. You can easily substitute these out for other cards! More Joes? Tommy Himi in BT18? And even flipping around some of the level 4 line up fir Ice Snow Trait Hybrids?
Partly I went with Lanamon because you can tuck other inheritable sources. And one thing I did with Jumbo control was tucking Otamamon underneath in order to force my opponent not to attack otherwise, they'd lose two sources.
Hey, apparently there is an almost official profile of Hexeblaumon where it reaches a very powerful evolution called:Paladin Mode, If similar to Imperialdramon which makes me wonder, if this evolution existed would there be a jogress between Hexeblaumon and Imperialdramon?
With the new cards announced for EX8/BT18 The Ice-Clad Deck is reformed again to a variant with much more control (With its Levels 5) *Are you going to make a video too?*
Correct. Tamer on play effects are in the same timing window as security option card activations. So their on play effects trigger, and if for some reason that would delete (in the case of Garudamon ACE) or strip the armor source (Joe Kido) then Magnamon X would not be able to trigger it's protection/immunity because it is either deleted (in which you would armor purge) or it would be missing the source to do so.
@@dragonnight22 Think about it this way, you declare an attack with any of these Digimon. The security is checked. All of these Digimon's effects now go into a pending state. It's activated but not resolved. Security related effects would trigger first, whether it be on playing tamers, option cards, etc. Those would resolve their effects first. If the Digimon is removed during this window, then their activated effects do not resolve. Another example is Wargreymon X from BT9. If you check into security, you do not immediately gain memory. You would resolve all effects first, gain memory, then do battle.
So as a funny option that came up with this deck is you can run hawaii death a 2 cost blue option from bt7 that gives 2k dp and lets you swing at unsuspended digimon
Very true! The only downside to this option is that you have to attack. Ultimately with so much blast digivolution I wanted to steer away from attacking too often and have ways to bounce as well.
Also an excellent avenue to pursue! I think that the reactiveness would make great for counter blast digivolution plays, but I do think the consistency and searchability is a little harder.
Hard to say. I feel like Imperialdramon can set up in 1-2 turns, but putting up Mother and Shoto is also possible in one turn. So maybe? It's all about speed though.
@@DIGI-PANDA Interesting. Unrelated to anything you've said, what about Insectoid? I've been looking around getting people's opinions on that deck lately and I'd appreciate your insight.
@@StarkMaximum :D I think I actually saw your post in regards to tyrantkabuterimon on the Digimon reddit. Speedwise, I think it's too slow. So even though the redirect might be gone, you'll be more dependent on Izzy. Without any further testing though, I feel like green is just in another poor position.
@@DIGI-PANDA Yeah, that's fair. I think we're just entering a meta where the colors I like are taking a back seat. Imperial seems like a real problem for it so I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for your input!
I believe I was more so implying you could unsuspend after you attack with the Majiramon inheritable. If I mentioned that Shoto is doing it, my apologies.
From what I've read and checked with judges on, iceclad changes the conditions of battle. So rather than compare DP, you compare digivolution sources. Because of this, the effects of ice clad cannot be protected against with cards like Greymon X, Metalgreymon Alterous Mode and general protection that looks for deletion based on effect. However! This means that if your Digimon has Armor Purge, Evade, Barrier or Battle protection effects like Garurumon, you can protect from Iceclad. If this changes, I will make a pinned post on the matter.
@@DIGI-PANDA I was thinking on magna X that is protected by everything or tyrantK that is protected against digimon effects. The changing of battle condition is considered affecting the opponent's digimon or not?
@@irwingbrasil Apparently it's not. Because when you block, you're redirecting the attack of an opponent's Digimo - thereby affecting it. But You can still block Magnamon X. Likewise, Iceclad now looks at digivolution sources instead of DP. It's not necessarily affecting the Digimon perse, it's affecting the battle.
I don’t think Joe Kido will work the way you explained as it’s security effect is to just play the tamer thus it’s on play effect and Magnamon x would trigger at the same time so Magnamon X will be immune before Joe.
All security effects resolve before Magnamon X would get any form of protection. Joe Kido's security effect would play the card without paying the cost first, then trigger the On Play effect before Magnamon X would get to resolve and be immune. But because the armor source has already been trashed, it would be unable to be immune anymore.
@@DIGI-PANDA yes as I explained the security effect resolve but it’s on play is the same timing as Magna X so turn player gets to resolve their effect 1st so it will be immune before the source is stripped.
@@TonyPino18 Incorrect. Magnamon X's effect is still in the pending state, and Joe Kido's on play effect is the newest effect that must fully resolve first before Magnamon X's effect takes place.
Scenario from the Bandai Organized Play Discord: Let's say Magnamon X antibody BT16 attacks security and hits Tommy BT8 or some source stripping card. Does the security effect trigger first to source strip him or does the Magnamon's all turns effect trigger and then the security effect? Response: The revealed card's [Security] effect and magnamon x [All Turns] trigger at the same time. Per the rules, [Security] effects activate with priority. As such tommy would be played triggering its [On Play]. As the newest trigger Tommy activates. Then we return to magnamon x's [All Turns] assuming no more effects had triggered.
@@TonyPino18They trigger at the same time yes, but tamers and options with security effects must resolve first as they are being resolved via security. This is the same reasoning why WGMX won’t gain memory when checking an option but would if checking a digimon that defeats it in battle. Same concept for a Marcus fixer dp draining a rookie with Koromon egg denying the draw.
Hexblaumon There was no good interaction with the wind wizard... They only bought it because it looked good, it's missing the level 6 earth and fire wizard
You definitely can! That'd be for the more reactive element. I feel like the way the deck is currently designed is to go for a stall tactic until you get Paladin Mode ACE to just win.
Hexeblaumon isn't a deck in EX07. It's a new archetype that gets support in upcoming sets. Ice-Snow. Probobly pick up the BT18 stuff as singles; especially since old Tommy is strictly better for the deck.
BT18 and EX08 will definitely further expand the archetype! I'm curious though, wide side sets taking on more of a role for the family based Digimon - Nature Spirits, Nightmare Soldiers, I wonder if they'll redo a set with Dragon's Roar to incorporate that DR attribute.
Ice-snow is more like a type like cyborg. While nature spirits and others fields are like groups like d-bridged and other in a broad way. If Dr will be a deck it probably take digimon from the V-pet.
How so? Hiyarimon looks for no Digimon with digivolution cards. Meaning if your opponent has no Digimon in play you can attack and still draw a card. Upamon on the other hand requires there to at least be a Digimon and that Digimon must have no sources. Hiyari definitely feels like an upgrade for me.
It's interesting that you haven't considered sourai or innocence blizzard, as this deck has no way to deal with "immune to digimon" abilities in green bug or a rogue fanglongmon. And while true you stop suspension against green, that is only when they have run out of sources. The ride up into those immunization bodies dont immediately get stripped, unless i missed something that does that?
All excellent points to make! From what I've read and asked judges, iceclad changes the battle condition to be based on sources. And while true, green bug decks while suspended are unaffected by Digimon effects, the fact that you can still trash their sources via your tamers like Joe and Sora make it so that even if they were to redirect, iceclad would change the battle conditions from DP based to source based. Which means, if you attack, and can trash sources off Tyrant via Joe and Sora, that alone will be enough that if they redirect via effect Iceclad wins. Iceclad is not a deletion based on Digimon effect but battle. Sourai and Innocence Blizzard are great tools! But in the age of blast digivolution, these cards leave the body on board, while Ice Statue does the heavy lifting. Arguably, this deck can have problems with BT9 X-Antibody, but at the present, not a lot of decks run it.
