    Just received my Niche today! The one thing i dislike about it though, is that it looks way too good especially in comparison to my espresso machine, so now I’m going to have to shell out thousands of dollars to upgrade my espresso machine... thanks niche...

    That last stop is actually the trickiest part and totally elided over in this video. I assume that tightening to the dot means that you don't tighten the whole dial down but to the tightest where the dial dot lines with the calibration dot? Then move the lower part with the dot to where the last setting was? I find that part confusing. After my last cleaning the difference was about 8 notches. Then the grind got wonky, then the plastic part in the middle came off and I had to take it apart again. Your video gets us to the most complicated part then ends. It would be helpful to understand what happens there.

    just discovered mine had a lot of gunk on the top burr. when i first started using it, i didnt spray with water though. i wonder if that mitigates that. but overall im glad i went through it. found part of a coffee bean between the dosing part and the body.
    wish the chute were detachable. i noticed some coffee solidified there and it's hard to clean completely.

    • @dananskidolf
      @dananskidolf 2 года назад +1

      @@nanorsevani @Corbot 2000 I was having the same problem too - it's why I was looking for a video guide.
      I was able to sort it out in the end with a pair of pliers - I first got the black nut off with fairly low force, but the pin came out of it in the process and was still stuck in the burr. To remove the pin I applied gradually more and more force with the pliers and in the end it was enough force to scratch the bit I was pulling on, but at least I got it out. I got the pin back into the black thing with a few gentle taps from a very small hammer, making sure to orient it the same way as in this video as it has curved tip edges.
      It seems the blades and burr are meant to lock together on their on and the pin slots neatly into the square hole they leave for alignment. However mine were clearly a little misaligned and that's why the pin had been so hard to get out. I made sure to get them perfectly aligned to get the pin back in so hopefully I won't have the issue next time.
      Hope this helps you or anyone experiencing the same.

    Hi, just wanted to ask a multi-part question about grinds on the threads of the machine. Took mine apart and I noticed that the funnel’s threads have grinds on them and the receiving threads on the machine itself have grinds there. While trying to clean it, I noticed that there’s some kind of grease on the threads itself. Any recommendations on how to properly clean that area? Are the grinds gonna damage the machine if not cleaned out from there? Thanks!

    From 2:30 onwards, the calibration marker is pointed to and lined up with the 'calibration' label when screwing the hopper back on - what is this meant to imply? True calibration?
    Sounds like a stupid question I know, but I wanted to know why.

      This means your grinder is truly calibrated yes. Once you have done this, you will want to turn anti clockwise back to your chosen setting.
