Thank you so much. I’ve managed to strip down my Niche, clean everything and put it all back together again. I feel quite pleased with myself but really it’s thanks to you and your nice clear video. Highly recommended.
Thanks for this video. I had a problem calibrating my Niche and the video made by Niche didn't help solve my problem. Now I know I need to first screw the bottom bit (only) to the calibration mark and then screw the upper bit to the desired point.
Hey! Thanks for the video. Is it necessary to screw the nfc disc tightly so it doesn’t rotate freely on its own or it can rotate loosely in the final position?
Hi Hoon, I really enjoy your videos, especially this one on how to clean the Niche. I actually have it on order and it's being delivered in September. Do you notice a different flavor in your shots between your built-in Breville grinder vs the Niche?
Hey Tracey, it's been a year since you should have received your Niche grinder. I ordered one about two months ago and it arrived a few days ago. The first few attempts to pull shots were really bad. I've only been making about two cappuccinos per day so I haven't had a whole lot of time to get it dialed in, but I think I'm getting a lot closer now. The two I made today were pretty good, but not what I would call great. I imagine after a year, yours must be really good. What is your experience with the Niche after a year?
@@jimhand2734 Hi Jim, I am still liking the Niche. It is very consistent with the grind, but have found the settings tend to creep a bit. I still find it difficult to dial in after cleaning, which I do every three months because I use dark roast beans. This is probably me just being dumb, but I love it still as much as the day I bought it. Good luck with yours and I hope we can keep in touch from time to time on your experiences with it.
@@jimhand2734 Hey Jim, it's been 6 months since youyou have received your Niche grinder. Just joking :D, btw how is your experience and do you recommend it? i'm thinking of buying one because i've been using a Rancilio Rocky grinder for 7 years it's good but has a massive retention and for 7 years she took great care of me.
I just cleaned Niche grinder and I was at 15 now at 22 setting after cleaning. Is this normal? I did calibrate the grinder. Espresso results are 18grams and 35 grams out in 26 seconds.
I did the same calibration steps but it was still way off and chocked my Bianca like crazy. Before I was grinding my coffee on 16 for ristritto. However, after calibration even on 22 Bianca was chocking.
It can go out of calibration if you try to rotate it by the silver top. Once calibrated, I put a piece of tape on the side of the silver dome and marked it with a sharpie.

Finally got one, Hoon! Thank you so much for putting together this video. You’re right-the cleaning and calibrating process is very simple.

This is the best cleaning guide video fro niche grinder!
Thanks Hoon, way better than their own cleaning guide!
Thanks for the great demo. It's all back and working like new, again.
Hello Hoon - thank you for this video. I am thinking of ordering a Niche Zero. I agree - it seems to be the most bang for the buck.
excellent video - helped me clean my niche - very clear and well done!
Wow, a fair bit of coffee building up in there. Makes you realise it could probably do with cleaning a bit more often than every 5 months!
ideally a once month. Thing is there are so easy to clean so it is not a big deal
When I took off the top the stem stayed on the bottom burr?? do you recommend using some pliers to pull out the stem?
Great video thanks!!! I'm going to buy me one this Christmas!
Good choice!
Hey! Thanks for the video. Is it necessary to screw the nfc disc tightly so it doesn’t rotate freely on its own or it can rotate loosely in the final position?
Is it OK to wash the disassembled parts with water and let them dry before assembly?
Thanks for this video Hoon. I wish the Niche's manufacturer had actually detailed these cleaning instructions in their manual.
Glad it was helpful!

Just got a Niche Zero. The light under the switch thing is always on, is that normal?
yes it is. I know some people tape over there.
Thanks for the video! Very well explained! :)
Glad it was helpful!

It happened to me as well.
@@HoonsCoffee Thanks for the response and for the video content it helped me clean my Niche grinder. Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!
I had the same thing happen to me, wasted 4 portions until I got it right.
the reason of change (for me as well) is how tight you have screwed the ring into the bottom, or?
Dude thanks for the video !!
I can’t wait for mind to get here soon!
Did you get white or black?
Hoon's Coffee I got the white version!
Did you receive it yet? How do you like it?

Fantastic , i buy now the niche, i'm so happy. estimated shipping date merch 21. thank you Hoon.
Fantastic!
Hey Hoon the Niche only has one spring ?
Should be 2.
@@HoonsCoffee Thanks Hoon! Turns out I vacuumed one of my springs by accident. Lol
@@chavitavb Niche anticipated this! There are two spare springs stored in the base. 🙂
Colin Maynard what! I had no idea
Thanks a lot for this video! Instructions were very clear :D (unlike the official Niche Zero videos, sigh)
Glad it helped!
definitely want to upgrade to Niche over Breville grinder
Can’t wait for mine. It ships the middle of July
What color did you get?
Hoon's Coffee I ordered the white one. My new expresso machine comes today🤗
@@TimRogers81 Which espresso did you get?
My current machine is a Delonghi La Specialista (which is now for sale😉). My new one is the La Marzocco Leina Mini
Simple and good video, thx alot.
Glad you liked it!

Hey Hoon. Like your vids, but you neglected to tell all that the Niche is as expensive as the complete Barista Express with built in grinder!!
You have a great point!
There's a reason for that. It's worth it.
I so desperately want one of these grinders. too poor, tho!
Camera angle and Focus issues ~ obviously too much coffee consumption.
maybe unplug before you clean.
How often should the Niche be calibrated? What circumstances would require it to be re-calibrated? Thanks
Not that often. Maybe once every three month.
