With the dual floor coffee basket: the inside floor (lots of little holes at 7m44s) is only pressed in place. Put the whole thing right way up on a stove burner/hot plate (mine’s halogen). When it’s too hot to touch grab it with an oven mitt and slam it onto a cutting board up-side-down. The inside filter will come out. Clean all the stale coffee grounds and crud out of there then put it back together. It’ll just press back in place. Added bonus: because the stale old coffee residue is gone the coffee tastes better. Yoooou’re welcome! :)
@@AjusCafe I’ve had this machine for 11 years. The non-pressurised basket has sat on to of it the whole time. I’ve never used it and I don’t know why. I should give it a go just in case I like it.
Thank you! After trying everything as recommended I have solved my problem with your advice. Hubby and I only drink black coffee so we use the pressurized filter all the time. We clean it each time. But that's not enough. It has to be taken apart as you suggest. The muck had now been cleaned out thoroughly and we are enjoying our long blacks again.
I soaked with vinegar and baking soda for 5 minutes and then proceeded to do all this and didn’t work until I ran it in the machine several times (like if I was brewing my coffee). And every time it cleaned a little between layers and by the third time I used the pins again and voila!!! It worked

Just found out from a BBE FB Group the filter plate can be removed from the dual wall pressurised basket. Just knock the basket flat against a hard surface and it will pop out. Probably have to knock harder the 1st time.
I saw that and I'm not sure this can be easily removed like in that video. I would be surprised if it comes off that easy. Anyway i don't use Pressurized basket. So mine is as good as new 🙂
I am dealing with this problem now. I have that Breville tool. I think the point is it is for cleaning the one exit hole. You can't assume all holes on all baskets are that size the poker it. The pin wouldn’t go through the other side of the dual wall basket is because there are 2 walls in the basket - when you out the pin through you can feel it hits the other inner wall

If they're not actually fused together, which it seems they're not since you can put that little pin in at an angle, then how does one battle the mold that would certainly grow in warm, damp, organic conditions?
Thank you and thats a great question about dual wall filters. I know of very few who managed to open the inner layer off the Pressurized basket by tapping the basket hard upside down.
