Times are changing for sure! Never thought I would see a heat pump in a vehicle! Almost scary and totally unnecessary. Thanks for the walk around on the system.
@@SkillSavvyDIY the only reason it is necessary in a whole electric vehicle is because resistance heaters use 3 to 4 times more power and it drains the high voltage drive battery really fast shortening the mileage. Heat pumps use much less electricity to heat up a vehicle in snowy weather, extending the drive range of the battery .
@@coldfinger459sub0 I actually considered that very thing after commenting. A PTC heater would put a drain on the batteries for sure. Oh well, welcome to the future haha. I actually wouldn't mind seeing this system up close but I'm sure I will get the opportunity eventually.

😅 quite a few manufacturers moving to heat pumps don't know why they just can't call it a reverse A/C unit or reversible A/C because that's what it is but quadruple the complexity of a regular system 😅.. i guess heat pump sounds more magical and environmental friendly

i remember the vacuum lines back in 80s we had diagrams then the wiring craze after that. do they make just a diagram for these ac systems that would be clear to follow and understand ,have not looked for that yet. young techs if they are behind now they may not be able to repair these systems with out replacing mass amount of expensive parts. i think if the young person would get schooling in these systems could make some money in their own shop just for hvac.

Genuine parts ha ha LOL.................... The aftermarket might support it . Once its sees an accident instant write off . Oh yea hyundai are not even carrying spare batteries . Also scratch the battery and it needs replacing . These cars are an absolute joke .

It's a rolling physics lab. You don't want it to hit anything!

Better start stripping parts off them for cataloging and attic storage. Get ready, go!
