@linkvagar2336 It matters. Because when you talk about being the best, it matters. It's first year sucked a** and it's last year sucked. It's a great system and deserves to be in the top 10 systems, but no1? No.
Great list and video! There are some personal substitutions I would make though. First off, give me the Neo Geo Aes over the PS5 all day. Such a beast of a console with some of the best 2d art you will ever see. Second, give me the Turbografx 16 over the Series X/S. Better games, better exclusives, more diverse library and a plethora of import pc engine games. 3rd, I’ll take the Wii U over the Wii any day. You get backwards compatibility with the Wii and then the fantastic Wii U library that is seriously under rated. Finally, I’ll take the Sega Cd over the Atari 7800. I get that the system is good but I would rather play all those great Sega Cd exclusives and enhanced ports of games over anything the 7800 has to offer. (Snatcher, Popful Mail, Lunar Series, Shining Force Cd, etc) Everything else looks good though.
I think if Sony had just focused on making quality games and properly market the VITA, it would have destroyed the 3DS. Instead, they just gave up and gave the win to Nintendo.
@@keyboy1001 I had my PSP hacked, but then the pandora battery exploded, so sadly, that no longer works. I could probably get a new battery and do it again, but I'd barely play it anyway at this point.

MrLalie003 Yeah the Neo-Geo MVS was huge in the Arcade, that is NOT a HOME Console! Also PS3 was 600 dollars in 2006 NOT 1990 for the Neo Geo AES! $600 in ‘90 is like over $1200 TODAY! You have to adjust for inflation! Neo-Geo was a niche market! Almost no family owned as able to afford if even in North America! It barely existed in specialty boutique electronics stores and had to be ordered by catalog or over the phone overseas! 🙄🤨
As a Nintendo switch fan, words could not express my happiness at seeing it being placed on Number 3. Long live the Switch ❤️❤️ Why is the Steam Deck not on this list tho? I was REALLY expecting it to make the cut and be high up on the list because in the SD, you've got an incredibly powerful gaming console and portable handheld PC in one. Some might argue that it's a handheld PC rather than a gaming console, but given that it was mainly built to run PC games, I'd argue otherwise. It's one of the best options for all avid gamers out there, so I was really expecting to see it.
PS2 and Switch are probably top 2 imo. I do think you can get better versions of PS2 games on OG Xbox and sometimes Gamecube. Wii and 360 having backwards compatibility and large libraries probably should put them in line for the #3 spot....leaning towards the Wii because Red Rings of Death should really keep any system out of a top 20 discussion. Wii also had virtual console. So probably Wii at #3 but not for hardcore gamers.
Two games that were Highly Underrated, and not very well known about on the first Nintendo: “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” & “Yonoid” which was a game where you played as the Mascot from Dominoes Pizza, back in the early 90’s!!! Who framed Roger rabbit, might have been the very first open world game where you got to drive a car as well as do missions on foot?!?! it was really hard during the “on foot” missions, but driving the car around with so awesome!! I used to dream that there would one day be a game where you got to fly airplanes and drive 18 wheelers and sports cars and motorcycles and everything else…. And then one day, GTA finally came out?! I literally dreamed about this game before it ever released but I think Driver was the first one that made me remember the dream I had as a child?
So many factors determine what a great console is. Sales numbers and mainstream popularity are in a time frame, while great games and supporting communities last a lot longer. Also, don't forget the things consoles like for example SNK's Neo Geo AES/CD (memory card), NEC/Hudson Soft's PC Engine (first CD add-on) and the Atari 2600 (first third-party support) brought to the table. While not all of them were affordable, they were in the same market and did leave a lasting mark on the gaming community. So leaving out certain brands or consoles feels a bit unfair.
I still play all three of my PS Vita’s, to this very day!! In fact, I probably play them more now, thanks to the Modding Community? Either way, I still play my Ps4pro, my Xbox one X, My OG Xbox & my New 3DS LL!! Mostly my Vita though since I can play all of my Old School favorites, in such a Nice form factor with a Great looking Screen!! Playing Driver1 & 2 and all the Tony Hawks & GT1 & GT2 & Ridge Racer & Rage Racer, is just Awesome and absolutely feels like a match made to be!!! Not to mention all the different emulators for Arcade games, SNES, GB,GBC, GBA, Genesis, 32X and many others is all icing on the cake!! But I also love playing all the good RPG’s I missed out on back at its Launch, for the 3DS!! Amazing Handhelds that absolutely still hold up today, especially if you are an older gamer that appreciates how games looked for the time, & for what they did with the Hardware available at the time of their popularity!? Happy Gaming!!! Edit: Oh yeah, I almost forgot… but playing Super Mario64, & the best way I have discovered to play, ALSO goes to the Vita for the Mario64 PC Port!! it looks absolutely amazing and plays perfectly!!!!! I never got to beat it back in the day either because I only had a 64 for about a year and I only had two games on it: Duke Nukem, and Diddy-Kong racing and Donkey Kong 64 that came with it.. I wish the Mod community could do a port for a few other N64 games like ZELDA OoT, Donkey Kong64, San Francisco Rush and Southpark64! South park64 was such a fun and awesome game on the 64 back then.. but I can think of at least 10 other games that they should make a port for…. Maybe perfect dark and obviously a lot of people would want banjo kazooie? Beatle adventure is a no-brainer? But it was mostly fun as a multiplayer game on the weekends with your buddies? HydroThunder works perfectly on Daedalus, but has absolutely no sound???? I wish it had sound because God it plays so good… anyways.. sorry message so long
I never forget how amazing the Sega Dreamcast was during those first 2 years after its US Release!!! Looking back, every single game that came out in it just about, all felt fun and Amazing and Unique?! if you had a Dreamcast at launch, you know what I’m talking about because every single game you played on it was fun and looked great!!! The only criticism I can even come up with is the fact that the controller only had one analog stick, which just seemed like saga, shooting themselves in the foot? Shenmue felt like nothing you had ever experienced before?!?! I really wish they were still making consoles today cause they’d probably be right up there with Nintendo and PlayStation may be right in between both of them!?
I find that the modern consoles don't appeal to me very much. The graphics just have to be good enough to not be distracting and I am happy. That's why find that 4th gen (SNES/Genesis/PCE) 2D games and 6th gen (PS2/GC) 3D games hold up very well.
Great video, tons of fun, but in no world is the PS2 the best console of all time. Best selling, yep, the cheap DVD player made sure of that. A ton of classic games, sure, but most were better on future systems. When people talk about retro gaming they rarely go back and play the PS2.
I got my first DVD player when the PS2 came out! And I got my first Blu-Ray player, when the PS3….. Revised itself and went down to a reasonable price…. Lol
My personal 5 favorites: 1. PS3 (720p is great enough for me and you get backwards compatibility with childhood PS1 games and you get to play games from ANY COUNTRY ON EARTH) 2. Xbox 360 (amazing, just amazing... Nough said) 3. PS2 (greatest library ever, my teenage years, also backwards compatibility is important to me) 4. XBox One (again backwards compatibility is very important to me and this era had amazing games, PS4s ghost of Tsushima is one of my favorites all time but no backwards compatibility on PS4 killed it for me, I need a good library of games!!) 5. Tie between gamecube and super Nintendo, super Nintendo metroid game will always be burned in my memory, and GameCube was SO UNIQUE and WILD
You guys are kidding yourselves if you think the N64 and GameCube are ahead of the Wii. Both of the former consoles got destroyed in their respective generations for being too limited and difficult to program for, and their game libraries suffered (especially in the RPG realm) as a result. The N64 also has one of the worst controller designs in gaming history, while the Game Cube’s suffers from a lack of balance. The Wii, on the other hand, actually took a risk by doing something different, and the result was winning the console generation in terms of market share. And while the console’s library also suffers in terms of 3rd-party support, it did more than any other console to open gaming to the casual masses.
@ Wii Sports is more revolutionary than anything that ever came out on the N64. It was like nothing else before it, and it would be years before anything could approach it on another console. And any “revolutionary” game on N64 looks a lot less revolutionary when you realize that PS1 was doing the exact same things at the same time, and in many cases they were doing it better.
I owned all the major system releases from 1978 onward with exception to the Neo Geo which we experienced at arcades early on and now own a collection of + the Sega Master System which I experienced considerably during it’s time through friends and family. When measuring “Greatest of All Time” the overall console sales of each system is irrelevant because population demographics have steadily (greatly increased by 2000) increased since the late 70s and some companies exploited sales figures meaning they purposely inflated them by extending the life of the system long after it was relevant, like producing a vehicle long after it was outdated but dropping the price so low that every passer by picks it up for Christmas to gift it away - That’s precisely what Sony did with their PS2 system aside from selling it as an all-in-one system to the casual audience demographic which substantionally aided the PS2s sales, it was also garbage/slow throughout the entire launch - It took em 12yrs of producing the PS2 and giving it away at $50 in attempt to lock-in naive parents of a new generation of young gamers and to suppress the Soon-to-release Xbox 360 by manipulating the perception of unaware parents - That’s why they pushed console numbers, it was an attempt to become synonymous with Videogames and now they’re pulling the same card at this moment. The Xbox360 ended up torching the PS3 throughout the first half of that generation with top end exclusives, timed exclusives and the best online experience at the time. Greatest of All Time is measured by what %s each console had compared to the population age brackets of the time - and that alone is only a partial reflection as oppossed to full picture. Price points for the time of launch, game pack-ins, the gaming landscape/competition for at the time all have influence over numbers as well.
The NES at #10 is laughable. It's easily top 3 all time. And while it's a dinosaur of a system, the Atari 2600 had such a massive influence that it deserves a spot, and a rather high one.
It's fascinating how Nintendo can reinvent themselves so many times, gba is praised as one of the best consoles ever made, i did so much stuff with aria of sorrow even my own rom hack CAOS Reloaded it is amazing there is a DSvania editor there is a similar tool.for Pokémon we can go 2 player on a android box. And GB,GBA emulators so, so good.
You Saw that egg shells? On " Xbox One is on this ". Nowadays All consoles are good and have good games. In 2024 most important thing for me is business practices And respect for the consumer.
call me crazy... but i think that even with the rise of AI and basically being able to play hyper-realistic games maybe even wired directly to the brain like in the matrix, there will be a new 16 bits-only console that could come out and people would buy it and developpers would code for it. there is something to be said about how limitation raise creativity, even if you can do fake-16bits games on modern consoles
This list has some spots I don’t agree with, but for the most part it’s great. I just hate how overrated the GameCube is, it’s just not a console I have a spot in my heart for, it’s just mid, especially when a Wii can play its entire library. GameCube didn’t have that many games, or at least any games that appealed to me aside from like 5.
I think the GameCube has probably the best first-party hit rate of any console up until the Switch and a lot of it has aged beautifully too. Maybe you had to be there for it at the time but it deserved a lot better
@@CulturedVultures yea, I’m sure it’s just because I’m not old enough, I do think some of the games are good, but compared to the other consoles of the generation I’d rather be playing my Dreamcast, uncle’s Xbox, or ma cousins PlayStation 2, if it’s an option, I might just now be more open minded to play it now.
No Atari Lynx? No NGPC!?! No SteamDeck?!? WTH? I would almost GOAT my SteamDeck but I don’t have the 512GB or 1TB OLED model! 🙄 Then I might GOAT it! The BEST CONSOLE GRAPHICS of the 8th Generation was CLEARLY the Xbox One X!! Games looked ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL ON THIS SYSTEM!! Games like The Witcher3, SnowRunner and Assassin’s Creed looked noticeably better on One X, than they did on Ps4pro! They Ran Good too!! At least at the Beginning, b4 Microsoft started “Updating” your Games to NOT WORK ?!?!!
No way the SNES was a better console then Genesis. Except for Donkey Kong country games Nintendo didn't push the limits of their machine. And Sega's marketing strategy expanded the industry bringing in gamers who didn't want to play "kiddie games" which was most of SNES library (I think Nintendo should have leaned into Metroid to attract more from the female demographic).
Sorry, but the lack of RPG's on the Genesis make it absolutely the inferior product. Which is why it sold 20 million units less than the SNES, despite aggressive marketing. Also, SNES has more mature games in total than Genesis. Hope this helps.

And any “revolutionary” game on N64 looks a lot less revolutionary when you realize that PS1 was doing the exact same things at the same time, and in many cases they were doing it better.
Yall put the switch too high...🤨and got a bit of modern bias on this list as well...
When I was a kid I soooo wanted a sega saturn, instead I got a PlayStation. No regrets lol
PC engine 💜
It's fascinating how Nintendo can reinvent themselves so many times, gba is praised as one of the best consoles ever made, i did so much stuff with aria of sorrow even my own rom hack CAOS Reloaded it is amazing there is a DSvania editor there is a similar tool.for Pokémon we can go 2 player on a android box. And GB,GBA emulators so, so good.
You Saw that egg shells? On " Xbox One is on this ". Nowadays All consoles are good and have good games. In 2024 most important thing for me is business practices And respect for the consumer.
Your thoughts on rumors of the PS Vita 2?
No Odd Job. I was Siberian Special Forces.
wii and DS not being in top ten is kinda ridiculous
call me crazy... but i think that even with the rise of AI and basically being able to play hyper-realistic games maybe even wired directly to the brain like in the matrix, there will be a new 16 bits-only console that could come out and people would buy it and developpers would code for it. there is something to be said about how limitation raise creativity, even if you can do fake-16bits games on modern consoles
Seems unfair that "shovel-ware" bogs down a consoles ranking...
N64 is praised, yet also docked for their smaller library...
What a random list. Besides the top 2 it was all over the place.
No love for Splatoon?
I'd put the SNES as #1, but overall it's a great list!
We failed the dreamcast
I thought the Game Cube was second place not third.
It was very close
Who cares about the PS2?
That thing was overwhelming and I wouldn't hear about it.
About 155 million people cared about it
ps2 is the undisputed goat
No Atari Lynx? No NGPC!?! No SteamDeck?!? WTH? I would almost GOAT my SteamDeck but I don’t have the 512GB or 1TB OLED model! 🙄 Then I might GOAT it!
I Love my Vita and would rank it higher but I would have to give the edge to the PSP which I A or S Tier and GOAT it as the Best HANDHELD of all Time! However I think my favorite console of all Time is the PS4 and this is from a guy who’s first console as a kid was the Atari 2600 and Intellivision 2! 😉🙄😎 Also from a Guy who’s first console he bought with his own many as a Teenager was the Genesis! 🤩
Sorry Own MONEY! Not Many!
Did i just hear Ribena???
Instant fcukin 👍
I don’t see a GameCube on the screen so I’m not watching
🤣the GameCube makes the cut!
Cisto se pitam iz radoznalosti da li se razumemo? :)
Ja razumem, ja sam editor na ovom snimku :D
19 or 21 should've been the PS 5
I mean, didn't sony release a mammary card? That tomb raider one.
The timing for you to mention this is actually wild! Check out this video we did just yesterday

Wii is too low, it's way ahead of the PS3.
5. PS4
4. GBA
3. DS
2. PSP
1. PS2
26. Neo Geo
27. TurboGrafx-16
28. Wii U
29. Atari 2600
30. Xbox One
PS1 is seven spots too low. That's the king.
Switch is too high. Top many port from WiiU. Bad graphics and no modern AAA 3rd Party Games.
Braindead take
Saturn above the 3DS🙄really... lol
☠️💀☠️💀
putting the PS1 at #8 is fucking hilarious, you're 7 ranks too high bro
*"too low", if you're suggesting it should be number 1
