Fuji said during a podcast that the AF bug fix is coming at the end of the month. And yes bro, the image is wild. A few people use it as a B cam to higher end cinema bodies. A friend of mine, Marcus Robinson, uses his as a B camera to his Red Komodo X, and I and a production team I work with used mine as a B during a feature film alongside the OG Komodo. It’s great
Agree, but i've seen some a6700, a7iv, fx30 footage and i have to say they are on top too. Fx3 was used to shoot the creator. Even i have seen some canon footage (cant remember which camera was from) which was incredible and was used as B in a RED set. So whats the point in here? Good cameras, great quality and amazing and reliable AF, which is something im missing from Fuji. YEARS os fighting and dealing with AF. Auto Focus its not negotiable for me, i need It 200% and i need a reliable one...
I've been using the XH2s on major projects for the past 1.5 years, and it's been incredible. I've had some projects on national TV here in Canada shot entirely on it. It's completely replaced the Blackmagic system on our team for ease of use, and frankly for its image quality, when it used to be B Cam. The gradability and Dynamic Range is ridiculous. And as you mentioned, I've edited Sony footage from the A7Siii, and while great, it doesn't feel like Cinema Camera footage, whereas the Fuji XH2s footage is 100% just cinecam footage. It looks and behaves exactly like it. I've also not had it overheat a single time, and I've shot in mid-summer heat for full day shoots. My older Fuji bodies might have overheated in those scenarios.
Man! This is amazing to read! Honestly this validates everything I’ve been saying and it looks like the overheat thing may have been caused by the dual recording to atomos and my camera PLUS the gimbal charging my camera.
I think I have the same problem as you; when I record, the dynamic range is simply wonderful. Once, I even made a backstage video of a contemporary ballet, and the dancers told me it looked like cinema. It hurts that in my first videos, the eye-tracking worked so well, and now it struggles so much.
@@VictorAmaru this is why I’m struggling to sell my Fuji even though it has these AF issues. The dynamic range is just unbelievable like a true cinema camera.
I think the Xtrans stacked sensor in the XH2s is underrated. Stacked and X trans!!! That’s wild. I am sure fuji is gonna address the AF issues soon in a firmware update. The X processor 5 is AI enabled and very capable too.
Yeah. I am on the same page as you. It's going to be hard for me to get rid of my X-H2s. The AF is a big deal to me. I love the image and all the features. If they can't fix it by the next update I will be selling. I will keep my X-S20 though . I didn't update that one so it's better than the X-H2s right now.
I’m with you my man! I have a xt4 and I will keep that camera as my travel camera but the xh2s will get replaced by something else if they don’t fix it!

Man I’ve seen a good amount of your videos and I did watch a few where you pointed out your frustration regarding the system. Not gonna lie man we will miss you and perhaps you will come back in the future when they finally fix this AF! Victor Ha fujifilms VP was on Adoramas podcast promising the AF will be fixed end of June.
Image quality doesnt matter if half your shots are not in focus. I was about to switch to fuji but after all these latest af issues and after trying it out for myself i was schocked of how far behind fujis af is. And it overheating because of atomos use and a gimbal should not be an excuse. You need these things and if the camera cant handle it it says a lot about it. Hopefully they adress these issues because their image quality is ELITE!
Please do not pamper Fuji with your caption.......we the customers deserve better. They know they have up their game to resolve their autofocus issues by developing a new algorithym and not by updates. It is getting ridiculous. Nikon and Panasonic were late to the mirrorrless system in terms of AF and now they are ahead of Fuji. Fuji is a joke now.
I hear you man it may sound like that but I’m just being honest with how I feel. I have said that the AF issue is a deal breaker for me if they do not resolve this once and for all! The AF was good on the first firmware so I know Fuji can do it but now they are going back!
I wonder if the cfexpress cards contribute to overheating…. Mine tends to overheat as well and I notice that the card also heats up when I’m transferring files to my computer. I’m using an angelbird btw. Idk just a thought
I use the angelbird SE as well! Great card never failed me. My cf express adapter gets so hot sometimes I can’t even touch it. I think what you’re saying makes a lot of sense! @@adnan_velic It is a really good idea. I never considered taking out the card door! As I record in 6.2k, my XH2s gets really hot. I will give it a shot and see if it helps! I really want to love Fuji. Their ethos in creating images puts creativity and art first, compared to most imaging companies now where it's all about the numbers be it specs or sales. You can definitely use Fuji as a professional camera, however, because of the art first type of ethos, they somehow neglect some feautures when it comes to functionality. That's why Fuji, as of now, will never be my A cam. I leave it to my sony, even though the images and videos still need a lot of work, the assurance that my shots are on focus, at the end of the day, is what matters to clients. BUT WE STILL KEEP COMING BACK TO FUJI. XD ive gotten so used to buying and selling gear with fuji coz i'll sell a camera, and buy the same camera over and over again lol
