I never get tired of listening to Van Morrison. And I first heard him singing back in the 1960s. This is one of my favourites. They don't call him "Van the Man" for nothing.
Van Morrison's recording career spans nearly seven decades. He is a Northern Irish singer-songwriter & multi-instrumentalist. He can play guitar, harmonica, keyboards & saxophone. In the mid 60's he was in the band "THEM" & their biggest hits were "Gloria", "Baby Please Don't Go", "Here Comes The Night" & "Mystic Eyes". Van Morrison later went solo & has had tons of hits such as "Brown Eyed Girl", "Moondance", "Into The Mystic", "It Stoned Me" etc.
I love watching the reactions of people listening to beautiful tunes, and this is definitely one of the most beautiful you will ever hear but there are more from Van. I am happy for you x❤️🙏
That's a saxophone. Van writes the greatest love songs ever. Check out Have I Told You Lately, Someone Like You and Into the Mystic. Also Full Force Gale, Days Like This, I Shall Sing and anything else he's eve written or performed.
Van comes from my hometown of Belfast, Northern Ireland. He’s a legend in these parts. Might I recommend his song “And It Stoned Me” ? Nice channel. Subbed. 🙂
I believe most people misinterpret this as a love song to a woman. When I first heard this song (decades ago!), that is what I thought, too. I am convinced the "she" Morrison refers to is freedom. I believe this song is an homage to the American presidents (especially Washington, Jefferson, and Lincoln) who arguably did more for the cause of freedom than anyone who has ever lived. These are the men whose faces appear on Mount Rushmore, a granite mountain in South Dakota. These are the "men with insight, men in granite" as Morrison puts it in the lyrics of the second verse. It is difficult to explain the presence of this verse (which is sung twice) if the song is about a woman. Also, how to explain the first verse? "All the tea in China" is a common metaphor for something of immense value. The verse suggests he would throw all that away ("drop it in the deep blue sea") because the subject of the song is of greater value. One might do that for the love of a good woman. But the "men in granite" risked everything ("all the tea in China") for the cause of freedom and, in Lincoln's case, paid the ultimate price
In school the teacher asked students what are you going to be when you grow up..Master Morrison? A singer..A singer? Well let us hear you sing. He sang Don't be cruel. 😊
If you like Tupelo Honey, give the following Van songs a try: Crazy Love, Jackie Wilson Said, Redwood Tree, Domino, In the Garden, Celtic New Year, Caravan, Stepping Out Queen, Wavelength, Call me up in dreamland, Piper at the Gates of Dawn, When will I ever learn to live in God.
I'm an old guy and so happy to see the young lady moved by the Belfast Cowboy and his musical poetry.!
You’re not gonna believe the amazing music has in store for you. Enjoy!!
Van is one of my favorite singer songwriters. He has made dozens and dozens of albums since the mid-1960’s. Soul!❤❤❤
I've had Van Morrison chills pull me out of more than one depression.

It was stunning how much profound soul poured from Van Morrison from the start. This is a young man with the world-weary voice of an old man.
I was born in 67 listened to him my whole life. Even danced with my babies to his music at the age of 28. Still listening to him
Live his music ,one of a kind..♡♡♡
