Jamie is such a great ambassador for Liverpool. He gave a speech at the Anglican cathedral when he received his honorary degree over a decade ago and luckily it was the same day my eldest lad got his "proper" degree and we were all impressed at how thoughtful, inspirational and gracious he was in his speech that day. Fair play to Neville for doing this. Could easily have took an easy option to interview Carra anywhere else but Liverpool but he came here and that can only be applauded. I'm 15mins away by car and don't walk around them ways, haha. Excellent show.
I loved this episode! And speaking as a passionate Liverpool supporter, I’m amazed how much I love Gary’s punditry and how he is as a person. I’ve been having a tough time and to be able to take an hour out my day to relax and watch this makes all the difference - just something to escape reality for a short while, similar to the fan debates the other day. Much love ❤️
Hated Cara as a player (I'm a UTD fan) and now I have to hate myself for learning to like him not only as a pundit but as a person. Characters like this are what the game is losing.
I’m a Manchester United fan. I’ve watched all over the overlap shows and loved them all. But this was by far my favourite. Jamie is an amazing guy. Absolute gentleman x
For me, the personality, love/ friendship and open honesty of these shows will usually trump aggressive rivalries in terms of entertainment. I just wanna keep watching these.
I have to post again, it really is amazing this show to get a proper local give a tour, provides some real, educational insight. I absolutely love it! More of this please Nev!
Being in Aussie and hardly getting any football coverage this is the best thing to have come across. Love the natural authenticity and genuine conversations. Keep it up GN !
Jamie Carragher's fighting spirit was and still is worth GOLD...the man himself for his long career and loyalty alone in my book makes him a diamond!!!! Who would not wanna be mates with Carra? His laugh and obvious friendship with Gary Neville is precious. Genuine to a fault.
45:00 when Jamie talks about his incident where he felt lost for 6 months worrying, get on with things & then it'd creep up - I really needed to hear that. I got caught speeding grossly on the motorway (first & last time) & I've felt exactly the same waiting for the letter because it'll impact my job too. I know some people will be reading thinking its not the end of the world but like Jamie said you can't shake it & it feels like it at this time.
If you haven’t got a letter after 14 days, you’re in the clear mate. I was doing 75 on the motorway and didn’t realise I’d entered a 50mile zone as motorway was coming to an end although still three lanes. Then camera went off. My wife was due to give birth and spent the next three weeks worrying to death as was in debt, feared insurance would go up, work would be affected. Then researching things, it said they have to send you a notice within 14 days. That was three years ago!! It never came! Just move on… and keep your head up
That horrible feeling of dread thats always at the back of your mind. I think we've all felt it at some point but think it's only us because we don't talk about it. Especially as a parent with a family relying on you. You don't want to put your stress on your wife/girlfriend or your mates but it's always better to get it out somewhere. Even if it's just in the comments of youtube.
@@only1timmo Hi Mate, thanks for taking the time to write to me I'm really happy your situation didn't come to anything and I'd love to be in that position, honestly. However, when you get stopped by an officer you don't get the 14 FPN as the officer reads out the notice on the spot. He has 6 months to lay the papers to a court & they usually take the full 6 months. Rn I'm 3 days shy of 5 months. Reading this back itself highlights how the fear and anxiety has had me up reading every forum ever... its awful. I just wish I could've learnt my lesson another way via a camera with a lesser speed like most people instead of such a gross punishment. I know I was doing a gross speed & what it could've lead to (death/injury of others) deserves punishment but it's the wait too, I've learnt my lesson and held it for so long but I'm sat here unable to own it or move on until the letter arrives & I have to tell work. I just feel awful, 30-40 seconds of a complacent mistake and I could lose a lot financially.
As a football pundit in Taiwan really love the words from Carra 53:52 . That's our responsibility, pressure on shoulders, and the work behind the scene. Sometimes it's really sad and lonely when you received the opinions from social media just because you said something differently in your point of view. You gave us a great lesson, thank you Carra & Gary.
I'm an American and a United supporter. I really love these interviews because I've always been fascinated by England, especially as it pertains to the neighborhoods and how they're so tied into the football clubs. Many years ago we had that in the US. For example, in New York you had 3 baseball teams until the late 50's. Being familiar with where those teams were located I can tell that you could walk down the street, pass by a couple of local businesses and suddenly find yourself at the entrance to a 40,000 seat plus baseball stadium. The fans were all local and their devotion was beyond compare. That's what I love about English football more than anything else, the fact that the team and the supporters are one. I wish the Glazers could grasp that. As for the interview, I'm blown away by Gary's skill as an interviewer. Being able to bring the best of out of the person you're interviewing is a real talent. Of course Jamie is a real character and the 2 of them obviously have a natural chemistry as well as a true friendship. Such a great series and I hope to see much more.
This is such a class thing to watch. A United supporter, had such mad hate for Carra but it’s a complete turn of tables here. As a pundit and whatever it is we watching now. Such mad respect. This was awesome. Overlap needs to hold on to this.
If you told me 10yrs ago that I would love a programme that's hosted and run by Gary Neville I would have laughed in your face. Can't get enough of this!
I'm late to this - but this was freaking brilliant episode! Just a casual walk through your hometown chatting about politics, history and people. Legendary! This is what football is about - the fans. The people.
Gary neville is a great interviewer, it really is a talent. He has good questions and more importantly he let's the guest answer them, he doesn't jump in and answer for them like Jonathan Ross, he recognises that he's not the star. And I never leave one of his interviews thinking I wish he's asked something.
As a Liverpool fan all my life I find it hard to say but Gary Neville has definitely grown on me. You can’t help but like the guy and he’s definitely good at what he does, sure the rivalry is still there but he really does look at things objectively and you have to respect that. Fair play.
The best interview yet. A Scouser and a Manc - both individuals a credit to their city. The words 'Holiday Hunger' is so brutal, but credit for both for their efforts.
Not sure I'm more surprised at the quality of these two together lately the way they bounce off each other or the fact that Gary got out of Bootle in one piece. Brilliant series Gary from a Liverpool fan. Carra his usual honest self. Love the detail.
Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher - the respect for each other and honesty in their dialogue is so refreshing. Support your team - celebrate and have banter - but these two have transcended the rivalry between the two clubs. This is a very special series.
Loving this overlap series!! The Keane one was brilliant!! I often find myself sitting on the loo for an entire episode.. ending up with dead legs and pins and needles 🤣.. come on we’ve all been there!
These two are so good together as pundits, and in this interview, is they have a mutual respect as footballers and have grown to know each other over the years. Their friendship seems real and their professional knowledge combine to produce a good TV double act. Watching MNF this week, after the Pool Man U game will be unmissable.
I can only imagine how much Fergie would loved to manage Carra. Working class, fighter, team player. Carra would have loved Fergie as a manager as well. Liverpool and Manchester are both working class, more things that bind them than separate them really.
Love these Overlap shows gives a different insight & depth to an interview from the traditional rigid style interviews, as a Liverpool fan i have to say i never thought i would Gary & Carra would make such a great team but given the rivalry, but i just can't get enough of them. LEGENDS!
I always text on g nevs podcast that it isn't a podcast but I genuinely love these two guys. They pretend they aren't mates but they have brought each other to the top of the media game. Great viewing lads.
Really enjoyed this. G.Nev and Carra are so good together. So entertaining. Loved the political side and didn't realise how much work carra does in his community. Legend
Loved every minute of that. Fans of football, for years, have always wanted insights into the life of players and explorers, and not just what is slapped on social media. Can't wait for the next one.
Good to see them actually mention some of the issues about Liverpool that aren't always talked about in the media. I know Carra and Neville are both good labour supporters but fair play to the producers or whoever allowed it on Sky.
These two are legends . I support neither team but you have to appreciate the contribution these two have given to the Prem. Now as a partnership theyre gold
Brilliant episode. Get Micah on here, would be really interesting to learn about his childhood and formative years like you have with Carra in this episode.
Garry Neville is one of the nicest Legends. Liverpool has THE G.O.A.T. of the galleries. Across all sports, events... They have as a member my first choice as a Central Back in Premier League's Ideal Team. Carragher is under rated.
I don't think these two realise how important they have both become not just as voices of football but voices of the North of England. It's just sad that us Northerners are always ignored and looked down upon by the government and by people and the South continues to be development.
when you say south can you just say around London area because Cornwall and Devon are two of the worst places to live in the UK for disruption of wealth low pay, high housing prices and low employment. we never get a mention at all its just poor Northern people this and that...
I really enjoyed this! Such a great insight into their take on subjects of the past and the current state of play on Bootle. Well done to all involved in this!

The overlap has been brilliant since day one. This interview is so honest, you can't not respect Carra for throwing everything on the table. Brilliant by both guys. So happy I found this channel.
The constant theme of Gary’s lack of fitness is hilarious
He’s fit but Carra is way more fit.
Cmon gary is 46 yrs old but carra is at 43,actually both of them are impressive
Too many lamb dinners and glasses of sweet sherry toasting United fluking to a 0-0 against some mid table team
Gary's still more fit than at West Brom in 2011 lol
gary only does weights to look good but fair play for a fella nearing 50 hes in pretty good shape....just no stamina ; )
"You cant break me"
"You're like a kitkat, come on"
Killed me haha. You know what outside of football love a bit of gary
As a proud scouser I’m not ashamed to say this is a great podcast and the content has been unreal!! Fair play Gary! 👌🏻👍🏻 subscribed!
Fair play to Neville for doing this. Could easily have took an easy option to interview Carra anywhere else but Liverpool but he came here and that can only be applauded. I'm 15mins away by car and don't walk around them ways, haha. Excellent show.
FUCK ALL WRONG WITH BOOTLE IT BETTER THEN NORRIS GREEN CROXIE AND A DAM SIGHT BETTER WHERE YOU LIVE

Im similar but from the other side.the OVERLAP is quality.best of luck Sunday
@@eddunne4190 I think we used all of our luck up on Wednesday lol! I will be watching from behind a cushion and expecting the worst.
our rivalry is special Mark , im so looking forward to todays match ,
They are literally just being themselves in this. This content is hard to beat 🙌🏻
I’m a Manchester United fan. I’ve watched all over the overlap shows and loved them all. But this was by far my favourite. Jamie is an amazing guy. Absolute gentleman x
Yes m8, both passionate about their respective clubs & where they are from, great combo.
A gentleman would never spit in the face of a child

As a utd fan I have a lot of respect for carra even more so after this they don't make them like these two anymore total dedication to thier teams 👏
The overlap has fast become one of my favorite things to watch in the sports world! 🙌🏼 fantastic job to Gary and team.
Yeah i could definitely understand that.
Just move on… and keep your head up
@@only1timmo nice advice mste
Just brilliant, feel-good programme. Two, proper legends at their respective clubs. It's how you want footballers to be
I'm an American and a United supporter.
Lwave America and come to North West England ❤
@@joelstart3434 Thanks for the invitation, but I think I'll ride out this whole America thing a bit longer. lol
People from Liverpool like myself don't consider ourselves from the UK mate we're scoucers we hate the English were more associated with the Irish
Long ass explanation like 😂 but only way I could explain it bro
This is such a class thing to watch. A United supporter, had such mad hate for Carra but it’s a complete turn of tables here. As a pundit and whatever it is we watching now. Such mad respect. This was awesome. Overlap needs to hold on to this.
If you told me 10yrs ago that I would love a programme that's hosted and run by Gary Neville I would have laughed in your face. Can't get enough of this!
The Overlap the best thing on the Internet these days?
Neville has absolutely cracked it. Awesome.
Gary. The Overlap is the greatest thing to happen to football outside of the actual matches, in a very long time.
I'm late to this - but this was freaking brilliant episode! Just a casual walk through your hometown chatting about politics, history and people. Legendary! This is what football is about - the fans. The people.
The relationship & banter theses two share now is & should be a lesson to us all in life.total respect to them both
Superb, authentic, honest and nothing seems forced. This is gold.
Class, glad he addressed the spitting, good to see such rivals growing up and opening up. Another fantastic overlap 🙌
Yes. We know what happened, but he took his medicine and did not dodge speaking on it. Fairplay to him
Didn't even mention the victim in it though. Just his family.
@@Cheximus wouldn’t exactly call them victims. They where following him driving dangerously & calling him all kinds
Both Jamie and Gary clearly extremely positive role models. Great people.
Fair play.
Unless he is talking about ole 😂
The best interview yet. A Scouser and a Manc - both individuals a credit to their city. The words 'Holiday Hunger' is so brutal, but credit for both for their efforts.
@D C correct and it shows.
Gary from Bury
@D C scholes is from middleton

How fantastic Jamie has never forgot his roots and despite fame and fortune is still so honest and down to earth, well done lad.
Carra and Neville always played with nothing but heart and soul for England and their club's. Both are legends of the game
These two are fantastic together and bounce off each other brilliantly, hopefully one day they may have their own show.
Not even 10 minutes in and this is a joy to watch. Fair play to everyone at Overlap every episode is better
I’m not gonna lie 😂
Not on your bog we ay
Lol deadly stuff

Yep guilty 😅
These two are so good together as pundits, and in this interview, is they have a mutual respect as footballers and have grown to know each other over the years. Their friendship seems real and their professional knowledge combine to produce a good TV double act. Watching MNF this week, after the Pool Man U game will be unmissable.
I can only imagine how much Fergie would loved to manage Carra. Working class, fighter, team player. Carra would have loved Fergie as a manager as well. Liverpool and Manchester are both working class, more things that bind them than separate them really.
Absolutely beautiful to see Carra , and Gary Neville, together as friends, who’d have thought that years ago , class program , love,d it .
i'm not a scouser, but having worked in liverpool for ages on and off, i LOVE the place. love the people.
Love these Overlap shows gives a different insight & depth to an interview from the traditional rigid style interviews, as a Liverpool fan i have to say i never thought i would Gary & Carra would make such a great team but given the rivalry, but i just can't get enough of them. LEGENDS!

This is what football is all about...bring people together no matter what or where
"You have no idea who he is!" "My name is Phil!" that is gold
Good to see them actually mention some of the issues about Liverpool that aren't always talked about in the media. I know Carra and Neville are both good labour supporters but fair play to the producers or whoever allowed it on Sky.
These two are legends . I support neither team but you have to appreciate the contribution these two have given to the Prem. Now as a partnership theyre gold
Honestly, the genuineness and the concept ( Going to Liverpool and seeing a bit of Cara's life ) is what makes it worth a watch .
Jamie Carragher is a top bloke. I never took much notice of him before but he’s so humble and down to earth I tip my hat to him
Despite being in and supporting two opposing rival teams, Gary and Jamie i think are really close friends. ❤️
2 legends. Loving the series. This was my favourite by far. Neville and Carragher together are quality on screen.🥊.x
Love Carra's passion overall and his honesty especially on the unfortunate mistake. #Respect
This is my favourite interview on The Overlap so far, it was brilliant.
Don’t ever split these 2 up.They are as close as butter on toast.👌🏼 Brilliant insights & humour too.Love watching this series ❤️
Seeing those two get on with each other is unbelievable. I love it!
Brilliant episode. Get Micah on here, would be really interesting to learn about his childhood and formative years like you have with Carra in this episode.
The banter between these two is amazing 👏
Love how they have the banter which is opposite to when they are on TV. Such a great interview
Garry Neville is one of the nicest Legends.
Liverpool has THE G.O.A.T. of the galleries. Across all sports, events...
They have as a member my first choice as a Central Back in Premier League's Ideal Team.
Carragher is under rated.
This is currrently the best show on TV right now. I'm dreading the day these 2 don't work together
Love the visual aspect of these podcasts
I don't think these two realise how important they have both become not just as voices of football but voices of the North of England.
It's just sad that us Northerners are always ignored and looked down upon by the government and by people and the South continues to be development.
when you say south can you just say around London area because Cornwall and Devon are two of the worst places to live in the UK for disruption of wealth low pay, high housing prices and low employment. we never get a mention at all its just poor Northern people this and that...
