Funny how the parts seems sweeter when someone else has done all the hard work and a guy just needs to pick up the part and head for the cashier. That's always a win in my book. Take care.
I found you and you wife a while back. To be honest I was intentionally avoiding anything with any ls due to computers are always a pain in the ass. Then you have kinda made me realize it is a easy way to make a reliable work truck with a little cam to make it great. I need to buy some of the rods to rebuild my 2001 5.3 and maybe even a good computer but I'm staying cable on the throttle body.
Great video Travis…sorry to hear that your preferred yard changed how they price their stuff. Nice of you to share your knowledge and put together parts packages for people. Happy hunting!
I live in NM now but when I lived in Ventura I used to shop in Santa Paula .I would even use Santa Paula DMV because they are just nicer people and less greedy than anyone in the valley.
Its fun watching videos where LS stuff is still in demand. My local pick and pull put an entire row of GMT900s in about 3 week ago... so like 5 LC9s an LY6 plus a bunch of iron 5.3s and 4.8s. They don't move haha. I got the 823s off the LY6 after if sat there a week but someone took the rocker stands which are on national backorder from GM of course. If shipping wasn't so stupid I would strip and sell these trucks to people in areas that want them. Nobody else does it here either so there is a reason. But my 100 dollar 823s are alright lol
in the 2000's i was buying up Torsen diffs out of the 98-02 F bodies from SLP for 80.00 and using them in my H bodies. back then you could just order a set of Moser axles for 250.00 shipped. i also used S10 7.5 gear sets and they work fine but you need to turn down the pinion where the inner bearing goes .030 and you can use the H body bearing.
Reminds me of my local pick and pull. Anything with the slightest amount of value is picked clean mechanically and body. Airbags windshields seats body panels frame sections engines transmissions entire wiring harnesses. Groups of people walk around looking over every single vehicle then start pulling parts. The last time i was working on something for not even 10 minutes before someone walked up and asked if i was going to take something they wanted. Its a joke
This yard avoids that by not having an app, but the usual LKQ type stuff is gone pretty quick. The good weird stuff stays a bit, like a ford 2.3T in an XR4Ti or two eagle talon turbo awd cars. A few years back someone got two T56s for $300 total
@@alecweinstein4990 I wonder how people would react if they knew their car was being fixed with junkyard parts. I question if they're being sold at factory new prices
I only showed the super desirable stuff. I’m very glad that what I showed was picked as clean as it was. I want these yards to be successful and stay in business.
Great video! Travis your a walking encyclopedia! Would you know if I can swap out my drum brake rear end on my 09 Silverado crew cab 4x4 wt for a disk brake rear end?

Dude amazing knowledge on the Ls based motors. Keep this going

you can find 8.5 s10 2wd axle in 2 door blazer that had 4.3/manual transmission.

You just need the entire back brakes. The flanges on the axle tubes are the same, just clocked slightly different.
Nice, thank you sir!! Happy memorial day!!
Very interested to see what you work out with the vortec throttle body… adapter for 4 barrel intake?
That’s the idea. It would need injector holes though.
Nice where do you sell your parts at? How can I see your inventory?
You can find my phone number on Instagram
Where do you sell your engines?
